[Q] I have a problem with new roms. - LG Optimus 2x

Hello, I would like your help with a problem I have when installing new roms, based on the top android ICS system.
Any rom I install has the same problem, if the screen is off and I plug in a USB cable or charge the screen will not turn over, I have to remove the battery to turn the phone again, and this normal?
Sorry for my bad english...

If you're using kowalski kernel, in kowalski kernel manager app make sure the 2nd core auto hot plug is on. It should fix that.

thanks man really solved this problem.
But now I came across another problem, the internal memory is partitioned bad, I have the following partitions:
Internal Storage: 1.48 GB
Internal Storage: 4.64 GB
MicroSD: 16GB
The problem is that the system is recognizing the partition of 4.64 GB as the memory card, and the true memory card I can not use, I have access to it, and he listed, most not of use to his files nor move applications to it.
Its separate internal memory and memory card?

It's a common problem, i guess. I don't know the exact solution, but you could try searching the forum. I have seen more than once that other people discuss such problem and i guess you could find the solution. Good luck

CM7 driving me insane.. int/ext SD storage.

My external USB storage mode does not work for whatever reason, I have no idea why, it works on stock rom, it worked briefly on CM7...
I have no way to put files on External SD, I guess I could use a MicroSD to USB adapter but that just seems unnecessary. Previously on stock ROM when I used Software Data Cable or other FTP softwares I could just navigate to /External SD and all my files would be there, CM7 seems to do some annoying sort of merging, where External SD is showing as empty despite having files...
Any ideas?
Edit: Okay I changed CM7 settings to use External SD. This has fixed the running out of int SD issue and now I can more easily edit the more important files with the USB-SD. USB storage still doesn't work though.
If you don't have the "External SD" symlink anymore you could navigate to the "emmc" folder with a file manager on your phone which will be the second sd.
The mounting problem sounds like a USB driver problem.
Uninstall all LG parts from your PC, restart, reinstall the newest drivers and use another USB port to connect the device.
Internal & external SD should popup as two different drives when you plug it in.

CM7 is rubbish i used that for all of about 1 hour and got sick of the rubbish ideas that were stuck in it, its certainly not as smooth as the cm lovers would have you believe.
If i were you id stick to a custom stock rom.
Well I find cm7 better than Topogigi if that's anything to to by? Faster with better battery life.

Can't comment on battery life but in case you havnt noticed cm doesn't use the lg launcher it uses adw so its bound to be quicker. Compare them launcher to launcher and i garentee they are exactly the same.

Onecosmics ICS port RC3.1 mass storage problem

As the title says, I have problem with my SGS GT-I9000 with transferring files to it.
Now, from beginning:
-my Pc: windows xp sp3
-my smartphone: SGS GT I9000
Onecosmics ICS port RC3.1 flashed with CWM 5
and with Pauls newest kernel ([Kernel]-GT-i9000_Galaxy_S-4.0.3.257134.zip) also flasheed through CWM
..I found few "bugs" in this port (no Facebook sync possibility, with contacts etc., compass seems to show incorrect position) but the main one and very fundamental is with mass storage mode. When I connect my phone to PC, it prompts me an option to connect my phone as mass storage like it did on Gingerbread 2.3.x ..when I successfully enable it, I can see through all folders and subfolders on my internal sd (16GB) and external sd (microSD 16GB) but when copy/paste for example some folder with a movie in it from my PC to either internal or external SD it shows me very slow download progress and a bit later on my PC error pops up, saying it can´t find specified folder or whatsoever and my phone freezes, so I have to hold power button for 8sec to restart it again.
What is interesting, when I boot my phone in CWM, and mount my SD to PC ..I can easily transfer files (eg. 4.6GB copied in 20min) ...for my external SD, I would have to take her out of my phone and place her into USB adapter to transfer files (and put it back in my phone again). This is very frustrating because I like this port very much, it´s fast and you get all the OC/UV LiveOC control, just perfect ..if I could only fix this.. If anyone can help I would be grateful.
Can anyone help?? please
..also, I found out that I can´t copy files in between internal and external sd card.
If I don´t solve this problem I´m afraid I´ll have to go back to Gingerbread until better and stable version comes out ..and I like ICS so much.

Thank you for your advice but I couldn´t wait and flashed back to gingerbread...until more similar (by some basic functions) version of ICS port comes out I´ll be on "old" GB ...
For example, I can watch movie (size 2.6GB) mkv, avi, mp4 ..where on ICS I can watch only mp4..
..and for mass storage I´ve read somewhere that even original Galaxy Nexus with ICS has some problems connecting with PC
Only thing I´m sorry now is because with ICS I could play FPS game with full graphics .. maybe I need to find some custom or stock (preferable) rom with kernel that supports LiveOC and use of NSTools .. ?

That's weird. I've been using my phone to watch movies a lot lately and it's been working great, subtitles and all (with bsplayer). My movies are .avi too. Gives an error doing it by hardware (think only diceplayer does this properly?) but it automatically changes for software rendering mode and works smoothly, no lags, nothing.
Using TeamICS RC3.1 with their own latest kernel and everything works as supposed to. Also, never had a problem copying from the internal to externalSD or the other way around... it is a bit slow, however, to do it from a computer with the usb cable (around 1mb/s) doesn't matter if it's to the internal or external, but i can live with that. I just remove and connect the card to the computer directly if i'm in a hurry.
However, if you're into GB again, i'd recommend you to try mintberry MIUI. Was the most complete rom i've ever used, used it for quite a while and have NOTHING bad to say about it, quite the opposite. And i use my phone A LOT.

I´ve read somewhere that you have to install galaxy nexus drivers on to your pc??
Is that correct? ..
damn, I don´t know what to do??
I WANT ICS but with this problem it´s hard to keep it on daily usage base...
if there is only a kernel (custom) that you can flash onto your stock gingerbread but that includes things like this:
-Voodoo sound
-Live OC, or at least OC/UV above 1.3GHz that is stable
..and I would be happy with GB.
Same here
I have the same problem, also with Onecosmics ICS port RC3.1.
Kernel 3.08-NEO-3.0-galaxys+telus-257114-g5c75537 (the default)
In my case, if I remove the external SD everything work fine, I can transfer files from mi PC to the internal SD (slow, but this is a Known bug). The problems come when I have the external SD (SanDisk 16Gb class 4) inside the phone.
When I mount the device in the Pc and try to access or copy anything in the internal or external SD it just freezes and I have to turn off the phone. It also freezes while unmounting the SD cards.
The external SD connected with a card reader works Ok in the PC and I can transfer and read files with no problem so I tried coping some pictures and when I placed back the SD card in the phone I could see the picture
copying files between internal and external sd also works fine in my device.
I though It might be that the external SD was broke but after I tried using it with a card reader and works OK I have no clue.
I think I'm going to try install a stock gingerbread and star all over again.

That is solved in RC4 (pulled one) ..but it had some other bugs..
I´ve flashed a couple hours ago Teamhackungs ICS build 15 with Devil kernel v.14.2 ...and so far it´s very good, OCed to 1.4GHz..didn´t found any problems that would bug me..except for sending text messages (I was unable to send SMS) ..and so I´ve instaled GoSMS from market and in settings I wrote customized SMSC number -->problem solved.
-no mass storage transfer files problem (its very fast) ..also you can have mounted external SD too..
-flash in browser works
-I´ve gave up from facebook on my device because it uses up to 60MB of RAM (that´s why I use it in browser)
I started from 0.
First i went back to the stock 2.3.6 version, both external and internal SD works perfect.
After that, i flashed to a new kernel "hardcore's kernel with the ClockworkMod Recovery" following the cyanogenmod wiki
With the CW I installed the RC 4.1.
After that, I still have the same problems. I realised that I have no problem listening music from the external SD or transferring files between internal and external SD with the phone, my problem is always mounting the phone in the PC that crashes after a couple of minutes, no mater if is in Windows, OS X or Linux.
I'm going to install now the RC 4.2 but apparently the SD problems were fixed with an older release so I don't know what else to try.

Slow internal SD card

I'm facing some kind of problems and wonder if this is CyanogenMod related or hardware related.
The last days when I transfer files to my internal SD card the transfer sometimes fails, sometimes takes a long pause, or it goes nearly as fast as it used to. Transfering to my external SD goes fast. And when i restore a backup it has started to take "forever". A week ago it took 2-3 minutes, now it is 10-11. My backups are on my external SD, and considering transfering files to my external is fast I don't see the path here.
Also in SD card tester the test starts with a speed of about 20 mb/s, but it slows down to about 4 mb/s after a couple of seconds.
Anyone who have any thoughts? Should I flash stock rom and triangle away and prepare for a warranty case?
No thoughts?

I have exactly the same problem........
I cant record video to my Internal SD as it freezes or skips.
Write speeds are very slow.
What Kernel are you using? Are you using Init.spripts?
I found that its read ahead related within the kernels I was using.
Perseus Kernel ver34 and higher have a major problem with this for me.
If I flash ver 33 and lower, I dont have this problem.
Try using Perseus ver32. It solved this for me, but even the latest Siyah Kernel has problems.
I was meaning to ask in the kernel threads why this is happening.
Also, try getting rid of scripts that change the read ahead.
If possible, try transferring everything over to your external SD and format your internal one in CWM.
This should help if there are any file corruption problems - just pray its not Sudden Death issue.
If all else fails, I would send it in.

Thank you very much for your reply.
For the moment I'm on cyanogenmod with stock cm kernel. Cm doesn't support other kernels for the i9305 at the moment.
I have used scripts earlier, but I've tried to disable them. Don't know if there are any files left too delete, that's possible.
Today I noticed my external SD card has become slower too. It is fast to begin with, and slows down after some seconds. This is strange, all I have on my external is music and backups.
I'm wondering if I should try to restore a backup of stock rooted samsung rom and see what happens.
Formating my internal is maybe an option, but I'm very nervous to start such a project.

What I have done since I had CyanogenMod 10.1:
1: Restored Samsung based rom, did not help.
2: Used triangle away.
3: Flashed stock firmware via Mobile Odin and unrooted, did not help, actually it got worse.
4: Instsalled Viber and got major problem with a constant wakelock and crazy clock speeds.
5: Because I was planning of doing a factory reset I moved rom files and Titanium backup files from internal to external SD card and rebooted. All of a sudden everything is like it should be some minutes after the reboot. Both internal and external SD cards have near warp speed!
What is happening?? What caused this and why is it better now..? Can the Titanium backup files have disturbed something in some way..?

Using external SD as memory?

I have been having problems with low memory latley causing the phone to reboot.
Is there any way you can partition off part of the internal or external SD card and allow the phone to use it as an extended memory? Kind of like windows will do with a empty usb drive?
Thanks.
Try this....

First off, thanks for the reply.
It looks like that app is just to port applications to the SD card. Which is not really what I mean.
I dont need more space on the phone, I need more memory for the device. Think like RAM for a PC. So I would liek to partition off part of wither the internal SD or external SD so that the device can use the allocated space as extra ram. This way I can multi-task without the phone going into a reboot.
Thanks

[Q] [PROBLEM] Searching for a kernel with 64 GB SD support

Hi. Please advise on my problem as follows.
I have an LG-P880 running Android 4.4.2 with LiquidSmooth LS-KK-v3.0-2014-02-12, Kernel: 3.1.10-CM+(2014-102-12).
Recently, I bought Sandisk Ultra 64 GB microSDXC I. I format it in Windows into FAT 32, insert in the phone slot, the phone says "SD card is blank or has unsupported filesystem". Format? - I press OK. It shows "Erasing" for about 3 minutes and then reboots itself. On reboot, it says "sd card is damaged try reformatting it". I take it out, connect to PC - card is unreadable, even checkdisk freezes. I connect it to Mac - Disk Utility (probably the best way to fix unreadable cards) - Erase, Verify, Repair - format under exFAT. Test read/write - works fine; try in Windows - works fine. I put it back into the phone, I get on of the above messages, then it reboots and goes on like this forever... And I have to go through the same steps for it to make it readable again.
Next step: The card is freshly formatted (tried both exFAT and FAT 32), Reboot in Recovery (CWM latest version) -> mounts & storage -> format -> "cannot mount SD card... Skipping format".
So, I've pretty much tried all options. My previous SD was 16 GB, never had problems, so exclude slot/hardware issues.
I searched for similar problems and it's mostly only 2 solutions:
Try a different card, cause not all of them can be read by a phone, although work on PC.
Kernel does not support SD cards over 16/32 GB.
I don't have a chance to try other cards, as this is the only one I have and I ordered it by post. It works on computers - so no warranty condition for exchange. Therefore, my question is
Can somebody confirm a kernel version which supports this type of card, tested, with a direct link please?
As I've never updated kernel separately before, will all my settings remain or will I need to do a factory reset afterwards?
Thank you in advance!
I had nearly the same problems with a Sandisk 64 GB card. I send it back. Now I have a Samsung one.
Gesendet von meinem LG-P880 mit Tapatalk
I have transcend 64gb class4 microsdhc card and it's works
I think your ultra microsdxc card is not supportable with p880
Sent from my LG-P880 using Tapatalk
So, I returned that one and now I have Kingston 64 GB - same story...
Now, can anybody advise on Kernel?
have you tried iodak v10 kernel?
You should try to format it via TWRP.
I've heard people had problems with CWM when they use sd cards with big storage.Maybe formatting the card from there could help.
Also try what tamer7 said.Maybe the stock LS kernel does not support 32 GB + sd cards, while hardware does.
Will certainly give it a try next week and then report here, if all goes well - a thank for everyone!
So, will everything reset if I just flash kernel in CWM or everything will stay?

No changes will be made.Only dalvik cache will be wiped.
However, it is recommended that you delete the data of applications which directly change kernel settings, such as CPU governor, cpu max frequency, sysctl or io governor etc.
I'd recommend you to flash a rom and then flash the kernel right after it, before rebooting from recovery screen.Feel free to just dirtyflash the kernel though.
Solved
Well, the solution wasn't so dramatic. I just upgraded my ROM to the latest version and everything started working, even in CWM I can see the card now.
Too bad that I couldn't post this question directly into development thread, due to insufficient rights. I wouldn't have to bother everyone in general forum.
Thanks to everyone for the advice.
