Yes, provided you are running CM7 and use the procedure in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1105497
Some gamepads should work, as well as some mice. Can't say all though as I haven't tried too many!

[Q] Sixaxis Controller app and cm 10.1

I native emmc installed CM 10.1 on my Nook HD+ but when I run the Sixaxis app my ps3 controller is not connecting. I am running the the 6-12 zip.I know the two are compatible be cause im running the same set up on my Galaxy s2. Any else experiencing this issue?
Yes I am also having this issue. No matter how I swing it I cannot get the sixaxis controller to connect to the nook HD+ running the 6-13 rom.
I've been having the same issue since going native 10.1. Missing my six axis love! On the 6/15 release.
---
Still not working
I can verify with the newest 6-29 zip. Sixaxis app still is not working. I thought for sure with new in-kernel Bluetooth driver the app would work.
Not working here
I am running the 6/29/13 Rom and can confirm sixaxis not working as well. Wonder what the story is?:crying:

Throwing my hat in ... not working either
Likewise. Toiled for a while.
emmc - CM10.1-20130613-unofficial-ovation
I just saw this threat so here is my two cents; the 0630 rom does not work with the PS3 Dual Shock Controller using BT either. I too hope it gets fixed.

Thought I'd provide an update, I emailed the author of Sixaxis given that it could be an issue on the app end (although I suspect it might be the bluetooth driver, which I understand has been moved into the kernel) , given I don't know specifically how it is written.
Hope this issue gets resolved as i would like to flash cm 10.1 but will stick with stock for now.

I have not had a chance to try the Sixaxis yet on this tablet (hopefully soon) but I have CM 10.1 on EMMC and the Moga Pocket controller both with the official Pivot application and MOGA Universal from the Play Store work great!

Fishtick, does Moga work with emulators as well? I might have to get this since I can't get generic usb controllers to work with my CM on Nook.
Ok so the MOGA works with cm 10.1 on nook HD + through blue tooth?
That's strange Verygreen says ps3 controller will not work as it has to do with some bug in cm 10.1 for tablets.
but yet MOGA works...Fishtick, do you have the MOGA Pro? if not which one do ye have?
Alex check out the amazon reviews, the first one indicates it works with all these emulators:
ePsxe, N64oid, Snesoid, Nesoid, Atarioid, Gameboid, M.A.M.E4Droid, GBCoid, and Gearoid.
I too am frustrated that the ps3 controller with six axis doesn't work.
You can get it working, but requires a usb gender changer and a usb hub to
connect the ps3 controller via usb. blue tooth is not working.

Sorry, missed this before. You can get MOGA Universal from the Google Play Store and this allows you to map buttons for all the emulators I have tried. It is great. I use the Pocket one and can't speak for the Pro version.

I have the Pocket so I can't speak for the Pro. This week I am going to test connecting two to the same tablet as a friend of mine is going to buy a MOGA Pocket for his Nook HD+.

Thanks, Fishtick! I was able to borrow a USB hub from my dad and it actually fixed all my usb device problems. Now I use the USB/BT Joystick app with this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002JAU20W/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and a ps2 to usb adaptor as well.
I'll definitely be keeping the MOGA on my wishlist though!
fyi today only the moga pocket controller is 50% off! ($ 20 new) at moga site.
use promo code: SOCG12
So verygreen's CM builds have been officially added to the list of supported devices. Hopefully with nightly builds we will be getting a working connection between ds3 and our nook.

The cheap $10 GameStop generic bluetooth controller is turning out to work very well for my Nook HD running the latest CM10.1 version.
Just thought that other people on a tight budget would appreciate this little input.

my local gamestop didn't have any left so I got the red samarai BT controller for 24.99 works great!
no software needed to make it work either. I'm running CM 10.1 July 19ish build.
it has a switch for Gamepad mode and BT Keyboard mode for key remapping too.

Nook HD (CM 10.+ Question)

I've tried to find it elsewhere but I can't seem to find if the CM10.1 supports multiple users like the standard Nook HD software does.

I don't know how it works in stock, but we do support multiple users in cm10.1

[Q] What bluetooth controllers work with CM 10.1?

I just bought a sixaxis PS3 controller, only to find it doesn't work with CM 10.1
Can anyone recommend a controller that is verified to work with my nook hd+ CM 10.1?
I read some say the generics from gamestop work, but if someone could provide a model # that would be great.
Thank you.

What method are you using? Using sixaxis with the nook hd+ doesnt work at all at the moment, but you can get a gender changer and connect a controller via usbhost.
Heres a link to get you started.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358535
Apparently authentic ps3 controller work over usbhost because verygreen did it in this video:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2307585
the red samurai bt controller at gamestop works well and is basically just like the ps3 controller.

Fire tablet VS Controllers

Hello!!! I can't get my fire HD 8" 2017 to work with my PS4 controller nor a Xbox one controller either. Tried Bluetooth and OTG... With Bluetooth it says it syncs, but the controller doesn't do anything. With the OTG cable, it doesn't even connect. Anybody has an idea of what is going on? Is there something I'm missing? Any workarounds? Is this issue only on the Fire 8?

Thanks, but that doesn't work. It is the first thing i tried. The tablet says the controller is synced, but it doesn't do anything. You try to move with the d-pad or joystick, push any buttons, nothing happens.

Game controllers and Amazon devices (FireOS in particular) rarely play nice. Been at this since 2nd gen HD 2012. You *may* get it to work - probably not.

Hello Davey! I've had plenty of help from u before.
Do you know why is that? They work perfect with android.
There's videos on YouTube of ppl syncing them with the Fire tablet as well.
In any case, do you know any alternative for the awful on screen controls. Im trying to use retroarch, so my kid can play old Mario games. He's in love with them.

Sorry but it looks like your stuck. You can't dowgrade to a fermware that can root. Try finding a generic controler or find one that says It's spports Android. Here's a form about the moga gamepad

While based loosely on Android FireOS is heavily modified to suit Amazon's intentions for this device which most certainly does not included gaming on competitor's hardware. Amazon chose not to support certain Android capabilities which likely includes generic gaming controller support. Best guidance if using Amazon gizmos is to follow YouTube vids if someone else has figured out his to do it. Otherwise consider a different device that runs generic Android.
