Downloaded the 4.4.2 nightly from CarbonRom.
It failed to install, giving the message
E:error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard error flashing zip 'sdcard/download/CARBON-KK-NIGHTLY-20140227-0509-m7.zip
Phone is UK M7 and is rooted. Latest TWRP installed.

that error already stated issues from 'updater binary' that means something wrong with that updater scripts (meta-inf folder in that zip package). try consult wt rom delevoper or use previous meta- inf file if previously using the same rom

Bad idea .. don't turn off md5 check when flashing rom
if you have a corrupt download you can brick your phone.
the file your downloading may have been corrupted when the DEV uploaded it.. Do not force it to install till you get a good MD5 check

Their are programs to check your download called MD5 checker
you should check every file you download before installing it to your phone... Many post here are because of corrupt downloads that can be avoided by a simple 5 second check

yes i have unlocked and rooted my nexus one already and i have flashed the amon ra,s recovery image.
what rom should i install? because nothing is working. i tried the alpha 21 rom and cayanogen rom and the official nexus one rom. they did not work.
how are you installing them? did you check the md5 check sum to make sure the file isn't corrupt? are you unzipping or just placing the zip file directly into the root of your SD?
anyway, since you are having trouble doing it, i would recommend you download and install the app, RomManager from the market; this app will download and then install it for you
otherwise, i would just download the zip files (ROM) again and try it

i am not unzipping well one rom worked "nexdesire" and now i dont even have the market app so i cant get the Rom manager . and how do you check the md5 file?
to check md5 sum (which is provided by all the roms you download, they are usually right next to the download links), download and install this: HashTab
To check, you just need to right click on the file > properties > one of the tabs should say File Hashes and you just copy/paste the MD5 you got for the rom into the space provided and click compare; it they match, the file should be fine
whatcha developing??? lmfao

try flashing cm 5.0.6 again, after that flash the google-addon (in the cyanogenmod thread, first post is a link to the download section).

Hi all, i`ve an GT-N7000 with CM9 20120515-Nightly instaled. When i tried to update following instruction:
Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 9
Copy CM9 ZIP to your internal SDCard
Boot into Recovery
Flash CM9 zip
Wipe cache partition and dalvik-cache
Reboot
The clockworkmod in recovery mode version is 5.5.0.4. When i selected the zip file, clockwork decompress it and when finish, automatically reset the phone , but nothing happens regards to update de CM9, i`m still in the same version when consulting cyanogenmod version in properties.
¿ what i`m doing wrong ?
Please, i`ll appreciate your comments and guide.

Did you check MD5 of the file you downloaded? It may be corrupted or something. Just guessing bro..

Have u placed the zip file in internal or external SD? And keep in mind that CM9 swaps so the internal is actually external and vise versa...
And your file might be corrupted. Try download again maby using torrent if any difference. Atleast i had BIG difference on download speed...
If it doesnt help just wipe FACTORY reset and then Flash the zip....
Its safe to use wipe on CM9 recovery at least what i have heard and used..

CWM already preforms a check of the selected file ,it will give an error if the file is corrupted ,only possibility is that you've lost root
try to copy something to the system folder and see if it goes through.

It is impossible for CWM to have "partial root" - everything in the initramfs runs with root privileges.

I just did that and did a full wipe. It's still saying failed, I can't seem to find out what's the problem. Only having issue flashing to stock but everything else seems to be fine.
good luck with that. best thing I can suggest is try some different button combos. try a different order of operations some how. in twrp, full wipe, system reset, then reboot back into recovery, another wipe /reset and then flash. that's the extent of my knowledge. you said you redownloaded the stock files to flash...maybe find a different place to download it from, could have downloaded a bad file twice?
Are you using the one from the wiki? I just tried it with TWRP 2.5.0.0 and it worked fine.

You are probably going to have to use Odin to flash stock. It is in the wiki.
If you do need it, I posted a copy of Odin for our phone in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2307264
You should probably try to Odin flash TWRP first and see if that fixes it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41869680&postcount=13
Warning: Odin can damage your phone if used improperly. I will walk you through if you need it.

I've flashed using Odin before a while ago when my phone was bricked. I'll have to read this over again and give it a shot. I'll let you know if I need help, thank you so much for your time meek! I appreciate it, I'll let you know how it goes after flashing TWRP with Odin.
Reset your TWRP settings, also, try downloading with a different browser and try under linux. Some browsers and anti-virus have issues with android files and delete them without warning.
Thank you so much for your help guys! I got it to work by flashing using Odin. I'm having a little bit of an issue though, every time my phone dies it starts having problems with the external memory. Like for example, my phone dies and I try to open my camera it'll tell me "not enough space blah blah" and when I try to change the settings through the camera, it just force closes. Not only for the camera, also other apps that need external storage like waze. It won't let me use the GPS because there's no memory. Mind you, I have a 16gb sd card in the phone. Any fix for this situation?
Using AOIP Linaro ROM btw. I couldn't post at the original thread because of my low post count so I'm hoping I get some help here.
Thanks you guys for the help! I really appreciate it.
Hi, recently performed a full wipe on my One, flashed latest Viper One RC1 rom and have lost root. I've downloaded and attempted to flash the supersu zip as instructed that's provided in the ROM thread, but TWRP gives me a failed message.
Am I doing something stupid here? :/
Thanks in advance.
Any ideas?
Which error?
Probably is a bad download of the zip.
Because the zip is working fine here

That was the link that I used.
However, for some reason, downloading it on my PC then transferring it over to my phone rather than downloading directly on the phone seems to have made all the difference and now it's happy. :good:
Any idea why that would matter?

bad idea will make the boot slower in TWRP and plus its runnning t-mobile lastest update so you should be good!
I hope you are confused. You can write the numbers of the md5 of the zip you uploaded on the first page, not adding one for twrp to check, but so that people can still use a checker before they try to install it and say you messed something up when it was just a bad download
