I think AT&T got if a few days ago but I have T-Mobile. I'm flashing it right now my G2 and it worked.

thats good news, it means the flex wont be far behind..
was your G2 rooted or stock when you flashed it?
I wonder if LG phones are different from Samsung, in that you can flash updates like this even if they are rooted..
I know some folks got an ATT update a week or so ago, and even if they were rooted, it worked..

It was rooted but on a stock Rom. It said failed but worked. Took like 10 mins to flash and you lose your recovery. You can flash SU before to get root. I don't think I care since I'm selling my G2. Maybe I should have waited though to update that is. lol

[Q] VZW XT1060 safestrap/unlocked bootloader?

Alright so I was able to gain root and am running stock 4.4. I was under the impression that I should be able to run safestrap recovery, although some places tell me it doesn't work on 4.4 but some do. Which is it? My bootloader is locked thanks to Big Red...
Also, is the bootloader still working on being unlocked for the VZW non-dev phone? Or has that been given up on?
Thanks for the help to a new guy in the community coming from the GS4.

well this is a tricky question, according to the safestrap thread on rootwiki it is not 4.4 friendly but there are some people who say they have it installed on 4.4 and it works fine. so really all you can do is try installing it and see what happens.
as for bootloader unlock i am not sure but i would not get your hopes up.

no u can just remove it via the app if you have issues worse case you have to flash the recovery.img in the stock firmware package
Did safestrap work ok for you?

Yeah, I actually just installed it and was surprised to see it worked. I am running 4.4 and not 4.4.2 but I'm just glad I can make backups now to mess with some stuff in my stock rom. Anyone have any recommendations for safestrap roms?
Eclipse works perfectly. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521509. There's also a stock rooted ROM over at the Rootzwiki forums (under CDMA Moto X development). Don't know of any others.

Please post results. A while back I also saw that thread that says it is not 4.4 friendly, but after some were reporting it working I went ahead and installed it. I am on Verizon as well and it seems to have went fine. Boots into safestrap recovery and I made a backup - it all seemed to work. However, in that time, I haven't flashed any roms in any of the rom slots. So if you are going to can you please report back so we know that there were no errors involved with that?
I've been using it while on Kit Kat for a couple months now (including backups and restores). No problems. I only use the stock slot, not ROM slots.

This is good to hear. My last phone had unlocked bootloader so I didn't have to deal with safestrap before. You're Verizon also? And you've just been backing up, wiping stock slot and installing there?

Safestrap doesnt seem to be working for me. After i install it and open the app. It just sits on a blank screen forever. And if I try to press the menu button in the corner it says that app is not responding. Does anybody know whats going on?

Give that dream up, it's never gonna happen.

[Q] Rooted my phone, then KitKat released, wanted to update, failed in the process.

So I have an LG G Flex on 4.2.2. I rooted it a couple days ago, and everything was working perfectly. I got the "can't establish reliable connection" error on my phone, so I went in and put the "#" next to the second IP Address, fixed it. But then I saw the KitKat had finally come to the T-Mobile G Flex, so I wanted to remove the root. I used Kingo Android Root and it went through the unrooting process and failed, I was very confused because my root checker said I didn't have my root anymore. But I started to get the connection error again. I read that I should just restore my phone, it was around 4AM and I was tired so I just decided to do it. So I have nothing on my phone anymore, I thought it would've fixed it. But when I was setting up my Google account again, it said, like before, that it couldn't establish a stable connection. I tried to download ES File Explorer via the Chrome Browser, but it said I already had it on my phone. So I just had to download the .apk from a website. I tried to delete the "#" that I put, save it, then re type it, and see if it worked, but it wouldn't even let me save the file the first time. So now I'm kind of at a loss. Can anyone help me out?
Unroot
Hey...
You must first unroot your flex or flash it to stock.

So I think I'm screwed

So I decided to change my boot animation on my d959 with T-Mobile latest update. I've done it before and never had a problem but this time when I boot up it starts the animation and then just freezes there. Since I'm on D95920m and T-Mobile decided to get rid of download mode I'm not sure this one is coming back.
I have tried everything on XDA I could find but without download or recovery o don't think there is much that can be done for it. Does anyone have a suggestion or am I stuck rebooting hoping it will get past that point just once.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53728658
Im not positive on this but I think if you change the setting on the top left to" emergency " you don't have to be in download mode. This has worked great both times I've used it.

Thank you for the suggestion but it didn't work.
I downloaded and tried bot kdz from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2644083
It made it further but errors out. I have attached a couple screen shots as to how far it goes. I'm thinking the computer is suppose to tell the phone to go into download mode, which is not there thanks to T-Mobile, or emergency what ever that is.
And what so odd is the g3 comes boot loader unlocked.
It's like the devs for the flex struggled to get the OS to boot then during extensive testing it booted and they said "Hold the f up don't do anything else. It booted. Box it up and ship it out before the GS5 hits the market"
Yes, it seemed a little rushed. Lucky my wife loves me and didn't kick my butt to hard about it. Ended up getting a Nexus 5 and to be honest I like it more. Always liked stock Android and everything just works. Would have liked to have had a bigger screen so I may join jump and get the Nexus 6 when it comes out. Thanks again for your help.
Have u tried looking at the device manager and changing the phone to just adb had same issue and changed driver to adb instead and was able to flash back to stock am now running my own version of stock modified with g3 apps
This is what my phone looks like now
And what i mean is change the drivers under device manager to adb drivers for the phone and u should be able to flash stock back to the phone

Wow that's amazing you even ported dialer and other system apps? My ROM on the note 2 had ms ported and it took weeks to get everything working. What all did you have to modify? Do you plan to release it that was a lot of work to not share especially as busy at work as you've been.
Also, you need to get with playfulgod seeing how you also ported the g2 modem to your flex based on that baseband.... or possibly you just changed your build.prop to show like you have a flex. Do you think we are idiots?
Like maybe you're running this ROM and taking claiming you made your own?

[Q] I'm over lollipop and want to rollback

Just like the title says. I can't stand having to charge my phone a couple of times during the day. The battery life absolutely sucks with the new lollipop upgrade. I have:
Given it several charge cycles.
Did a factory reset
Greenified everything I could
Wakelocks do not seem to be a problem.
I would like to roll back to kitkat. Is it safe to just kdz back with one of the standard ways? I have a 32gb version of the VS980. I have an old KDZ file but want to see what the latest one is for my phone. I'd appreciate someone point me in the right direction.
I have searched but did not see a thread asking this particular question. Thanks in advance for your help.
Update: After much searching I got my phone rolled back a couple of weeks ago. The phone is great again.

My wife's G2 is having the same issues and she just wants to go back to Kit Kat. I do not want to brick it and have no experience messing with LG phones. I have lots of experience with Motorola's and you will brick your phone trying to downgrade a motorola. Is it safe to downgrade? Would you guide me a little to the procedure you used and which version you went back to? Her phone has never been rooted or anything? Can I just follow the KDZ guide back to a Kit Kat version?
Thanks for any advice.

I'm sorry I did not get back to you. I haven't been on the forum since I rolled my phone back. It has been a while but I think I could figure it out for you. Let me know if you had any success. I'll try to check back a little more often.

Bricked NO bootloader mode or recovery..Black screen!

So I messed up...Was trying to root and got stuck in a bootloop after flashing MAGISK, so I tried to just reflash the stock image...
I flashed successfully and got out of the bootloop but my wifi stopped working, so I rebooted and tried to reflash with the Pie image instead of oreo. For some reason I was getting errors so I got this bright idea to run the commands one by one in the Flash-All.bat.
But I still kept getting errors so I thought id reboot the bootloader and try again...thats where everything went south..Screen went black cant get to fastboot mode cant get to recovey..Pc recogizes the phone as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" Bashing my head finding old LG threads that cant work for the razer, I dont know what to do...Any suggestions? Or am i just completely screwed.
Bad news I'm afraid but that's a hard brick you've got there there's nothing you can do to fix that afaik.

I saw that link on my hunt but I can't use it because the files provided are specific to LG L70 devices, the Razer doesn't use TOT files for firmware they use I'm going file's and the software he provided (which I tried) can only flash tot files.
Thank you though!

Yeah that's what I was afraid of. Well luckily I am able to get it replaced... maybe not the most honest way but I only had it for a day so I went to where I bought it and told them it stopped working and they are sending me a replacement. Since it doesn't actually turn on they can't see that I unlocked the bootloader.... however...I'm still gonna try to root it I'll be more careful but I need root! I've been rooted since way back in Evo4g and Galaxy S1 days I use allot of root features I just can't give up..it's why I dropped Samsungs and went to Razer since Samsung started locking bootloader's... anyway hope it goes better the second time around lol

With the lack of Custom ROMs what root features are you looking for exactly?
I just ordered mine today and like you I've rooted all my past phones except my current LG G6 (which can't be hence my upgrade)
The only thing I usually really need root access for is the free tethering without AT&T knowing and I was able to do that to the G6 without root.
Not trying to be mean or anything I'm just curious.
