Hey has anyone had any luck with art runtime on 4.4.2? I recently upgraded and I haven't had any luck enabling the run time. It asks to reboot to change the run time but instead it just reboots normally and doesn't change anything. Any ideas?

ART is running great on my GSM DE on 4.4.2. Are you using a deodexed ROM?

Either A. You're running Xposed which forces a boot loop in order for you not to break the system. or B. You're running a deodexed in which of course you're going to need a odexed version.

I was attempting to switch to ART but it didn't work. I'm thinking this has something g to do with the recovery being hijacked.
Is there a way to restore the recovery, switch to ART, then re hijack the recovery for writable system access?

solved. Issue was with xposed. Feel free to delete.
What about xposed? I have same issue? Did you disable a module or uninstall xposed?
Sent from my XT1060 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It worked for me after I uninstalled xposed.

So I have a verizon developer edition rooted 4.4 kitkat and bootloader unlocked I try activating ART and it starts the reboot process gets to the verizon splash screen then shuts down am I doing something wrong?
Figured out. The issue was Xposed Module uninstalled and was able to reboot currently optimizing apps
So just don't use Xposed until they update it? Or were you able to reinstall it once you had ART up and running?
You have to update to the latest beta after you activate ART

So you installed it after enabling ART and don't have any issues? Didn't think it was working with ART at all.
Yeah haven't had any issues so far

That because reinstalling Xposed reverts it back to Dalvik lol
Yeah I just noticed it reverts back hopefully they'll have a fix soon

thanks for the fast upload...
but i cant install apps now... it just says Unfortunately PackageInstaller has stopped...
i moved it to /system/app and permissions changed to rw-r-r
any solutions? i searched google but no luck...
Since it is built in. You may just have to move it and reboot. Option 2 would be install system apps installer from the market and try it. Option 3, flash a ota or whatnot lol.

so... the solution for it is to just wipe cache and dalvik cache after moving to /system/app and changing permissions

As long as the app doesn't need to be installed then yeah that should work. Is your write protection disabled or unlocked bootloader?

i have a developer edition... so its unlocked bootloader... took me some time to figure out how to root it... first is to flash philz touch recovery from fastboot then boot into recovery and go to Philz Settings inside recovery and click Re-root system (SuperSU) then reboot system and install SuperSU app from playstore and You got a rooted phone

I added CWM for Sprint so you guys have support. When TWRP is fully up and running, I'll add it in for you guys
Crap. I realized I posted this in the wrong HTC One section.
Enjoy people!

Unlocking your bootloader will factory reset the phone, so yes.

Does anyone notice that the calculator app disappears. I've found the sense calculator apk and re-installed it. In extreme power saver mode is when I noticed it gone. Installed the apk and all is well now. Also does anyone know what the app MobileZone is/does and can I uninstall it with no issues using titanium?

The calculator app is located in /data and gets deleted when you unlock your bootloader (along with a couple of other apps, as I recall).

I took the oat before I was rooted or unlocked or s off. After I took the ota I unlocked and rooted using this tool which is awesome, then I did s off with no problems at all.

I've just rooted my device using geohot's towelroot.apk and now I can't use my ISIS wallet app for my free Jamba Juice smoothies. I'm searching around and I can't find a method to unroot.
Kies3 isn't working either as it says "firmware initialisation is not supported by this model"
PLEASE HELP!
Edit: I've also tried to use SuperSU to unroot, but it won't let me update the binaries and just force closes
Edit 2:
*** PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR ALL OTHER USERS THAT HAVE THIS ISSUE
I found out that you cannot use the SuperSU downloaded from the play store as it will just force close. Download the apk from this link: http://download.chainfire.eu/447/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99r4.zip
SuperSU should be able to update itself successfully after you open the application. Afterwards, you can use the permanent unroot option from the settings and that's it! I'm going to go get my free smoothie now.
I AM HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES AND NEED TO UNROOT ALSO.

You should be able to download xposed, then rootcloak, and hide root from ISIS. Works on my M8.

Yes, I already found this out with my wife's AT&T Note 3. Xposed plus Rootcloak is the answer to Isis not working with root.

Yes. You will install the superuser apk that is floating around if you haven't already and then update the binaries after you open the app.
Then go to settings in the superuser app and do the permanent unroot. I also uninstalled the towel root app too just in case. Then reboot and you should be unrooted.
