@southern87
thanks for the fast upload...
but i cant install apps now... it just says Unfortunately PackageInstaller has stopped...
i moved it to /system/app and permissions changed to rw-r-r
any solutions? i searched google but no luck...

Since it is built in. You may just have to move it and reboot. Option 2 would be install system apps installer from the market and try it. Option 3, flash a ota or whatnot lol.

thanks for the upload... just feel like saying it haha
so... the solution for it is to just wipe cache and dalvik cache after moving to /system/app and changing permissions

As long as the app doesn't need to be installed then yeah that should work. Is your write protection disabled or unlocked bootloader?

i have a developer edition... so its unlocked bootloader... took me some time to figure out how to root it... first is to flash philz touch recovery from fastboot then boot into recovery and go to Philz Settings inside recovery and click Re-root system (SuperSU) then reboot system and install SuperSU app from playstore and You got a rooted phone

I might have deleted something from system/app, if I do a factory reset and retry will it work?
Sent from my MB886 using xda app-developers app
Nope...im in the same boat...
They told me you have to reinstall the missing system apps...
At the moment im searching for the stock at&t boot logo....any ideas?
You are rooted obviously
1. Backup apps with Titanium Backup
2. Flash Stock ICS with RSD
3. Root again and restore apps
4. Update to JB
I will do the same

"Android is Upgrading"..

I keep getting that notification every time I reboot. Does anyone know how to find what is causing it? Could it be something in Wanam?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using xda app-developers app
Dude are you boot looping yet? I made a thread about how to wipe dalvik cache. When the is wiped you will see that android is upgrading deal. It's rebuilding the dalvik. Yours is trying to do that too every boot. But only to a few apps I assume. Wipe the dalvik completely so that it goes through it correctly.
As to the cause it has to do with permissions I think. If you have tried the themed system apps make sure permissions are rw_r_r. Or the penwindow manager app is upsetting permissions. I also flashed the su update zip hash code said to use. I flashed it with flashgordon. In the end something is screwing up permissions and it will eventually lead to bootloops

Did you replace any files in your system/app folder? When I replaced the accuweatherphone2013.apk to the no border one I forgot to set the correct permissions and it gave me the android is upgrading on every reboot until I fixed it.

Glad I read this! Had like 5 that needed to be fixed
Still says updating though. Can't find any other apks to fix

Update
Deleted the transparent AccuweatherPhone2013.apk and no more upgrade. This had the right permissions too just didn't wanna behave
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It was the transparent accuweather widget. I deleted it and then added it back and everything is still good.

No root? Wtf?

I have used some application they need root. But some of them didn't work well. For example: GMD speed time, slash game buster and root checker said I'm not rooted. But it's false. I have rooted 4.0.3 than upgraded to jb than rooted again than unlocked the bootloader than flashed CM 10.2. What is the problem with these apps? Are they just simply not compatible with? Is there anyway to use these?

Run Root Checker to make sure that root access is enabled.

I m on cm 10.2 and root checker said I m rooted. When you run root checker, does the ask for root confirmation box appears? If not, check super user setting. May be it is auto denying the requests.

No it don't ask for root. I havi modified the settings to popup - nothing changed when its on auto enable - still says no root but for example in terminal I write su root it works fine.
The apps below are working great

I did on my Nexus 5. I got the same error as you, but then went in and cleared data/cache on the Cameranext app and everything worked fine. Might try that.

How to unroot?

I've just rooted my device using geohot's towelroot.apk and now I can't use my ISIS wallet app for my free Jamba Juice smoothies. I'm searching around and I can't find a method to unroot.
Kies3 isn't working either as it says "firmware initialisation is not supported by this model"
PLEASE HELP!
Edit: I've also tried to use SuperSU to unroot, but it won't let me update the binaries and just force closes
Edit 2:
*** PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR ALL OTHER USERS THAT HAVE THIS ISSUE
I found out that you cannot use the SuperSU downloaded from the play store as it will just force close. Download the apk from this link: http://download.chainfire.eu/447/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99r4.zip
SuperSU should be able to update itself successfully after you open the application. Afterwards, you can use the permanent unroot option from the settings and that's it! I'm going to go get my free smoothie now.
I AM HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES AND NEED TO UNROOT ALSO.

You should be able to download xposed, then rootcloak, and hide root from ISIS. Works on my M8.

Yes, I already found this out with my wife's AT&T Note 3. Xposed plus Rootcloak is the answer to Isis not working with root.

Yes. You will install the superuser apk that is floating around if you haven't already and then update the binaries after you open the app.
Then go to settings in the superuser app and do the permanent unroot. I also uninstalled the towel root app too just in case. Then reboot and you should be unrooted.
