You can't.
Sent from my Xperia Z using XDA premium
no,
1. wait for the devs to do it
2. do it yourself
3. do the current instructions for rooting .253
I go for either 1 or 3

Wow. Bump a 2 week old topic just to give the wrong answer! LOL.
If the OP is still looking for an answer to this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327472
That should work. There's at least one person in the thread confirming that it works on 253.

Hey everyone, so i'm a brand new unlucky owner of an unbranded xperia Z as i'm stuck on .434 jelly bean until sony decides to we (unbranded phone owners are worthy of an update)
So i'm looking at the prospect of doing the system update the hacky way and got just a few questions...
How can i check if i have an locked or unlocked botloader? If i unlock the bootloader i void my warrany?
If boot loader is locked is it absolutely necessary to unlock it? Because i'm afraid of loosing perks such as Bravia Engine...
Whats the most stable rom running latest jelly bean iteration for xperia z?
Thanks for answers in advance!

if you want to update your phone you don't need to unlock your bootloader.... all you have to do is flash a ftf rom

Best thing to do is create your own prerooted rom. although it is a tedious task and can be quite frustrating to get right it is the best way to do it. Their is a guide on how to do it on here which is the best way. I spent days flashing other roms and stuff and ended up getting stuck in boot loops and having to reflash my phone to 4.1.2 I did mine last night and used root app removal to remove bloat ware off my phone, the result is a very fast rooted stock rom. that is best thing to do. If something goes wrong then I log in to this on here quite often so send me a message and i'll get back to you as soon as possible. Good look!
Hi guys im a newbie here i just got a z1 c6903 running on 14.3.A.0.757 with locked bootloader and it says it cant be unlocked
I need help to root it and the steps if possible #
Thanks in advance
Downgrade using Flashtool v0.9.16 to FW.534, Install DualRecovery from PC, Upgrade to Pre-Rooted .757 and follow the instruction which you will find on the thread by NUT. Done, now you are Rooted.

You have to downgrade to other firmware version and root that. Then you can update to newer firmware without losing the root. There are many tutorials for downgrade+ root on the web. Its very easy don't worry, just do step by step.

That's what you need:

Edit: At the begin of the thread you can download the DualRecovery. Its easy to install because it has an installer. Just open it and follow its instructions and then connect your phone. After installing the recovery proceed with the steps in the guide.
Tell me if you need more help.

Find out what firmware version they're running then come back.
If you provide no information, then you cannot expect any help other than being told to search.

Kingo Android Root worked well for me until I updated to 4.3 Sent from my xperia z C6606 Sorry everyone, just thought I'd help the guy.
It isn't a matter of not wanting to help. He provided no useful information. The method of rooting varies by device and firmware version, so if he didn't provide that, then nobody can provide the correct information.
I don't recommend using Kingo. It collects a large amount of information on your device including hardware IDs and serials and sends them to a server in China, supposedly in order to download drivers. It does facilitate that, but just the model number could achieve the same. They even used to collect your IMEI until they were caught and stopped. Not exactly trustworthy behaviour.
If you're running 4.2.2 or older, use Root many Android by trusted XDA dev Bin4ry to root. It doesn't collect any info or even connect to the internet.

Here is a post I made in another thread regarding downgrading/rooting.
This may be helpful as well - How to flash stock roms with Flashtool
The images in that tutorial are broken, but the text explanation should help.
It is also possible to root then upgrade OTA and keep root, but it requires SuperSU Pro. If that's the route you want to take, then after downgrading, instead of flashing a recovery-
Root with Root many Android
Enable OTA survival mode in SuperSu Pro
Update via OTA
