Actually we don't really know whats different in that release, but give it a try and see it yourself.
Flash it with custom recovery like CWM.

best way is try it for you to know whats fit best for you.. im using virginity v9 rom with ana2 baseband and virginity v4 for my kernel
It's much more responsive, more faster and uses lesser RAM compared to older versions of android 4.1.2
A s for the installation, just download this : http://live.samsung-updates.com/details/24398/Galaxy_S_3_Mini/GT-I8190/XEC/I8190XXANA2.html and flash it with odin You'll definitely see the difference.

I think not as I live in Sofia and everything works perfect
My actual S3 Mini has XXANA2 already into it and i'd like to just root it, but i don't find any tutorial about it (one about root with xxana2 already in it, not even google). Because the 1st time i've tried it ended up with the phone in a reboot sequence
My phone's a:
-Galaxy S3 Mini GT-I8190 (Free, Europe/Spain region!!!!)
-Android Version 4.1.2
-Base Version I8190XXANA2 (<--- THIS, XXANA2)

Buddy, just don't go behind those numbers!!
in-fact you just try em all!!
i can say "i love Semaphore v1.7.0"...the best kernel with the out of package best tweaks and scripts inbuilt+you can get OC and the most basic and best part is it has been patched with CF-root tweaks, rather than just a simple modified kernel like darky's!! I used Darky's ROM v10.2.2 EE +Dark core v2.9 still it has got many bugs and tweaks not present..!!
So, that's why i would like to say "just try em all" !!

Hello all,
I am really sorry to start thread like this i am new to this, but i serched before and could not find any answer. So starting thread.
I have curretly Anidroid Rom and kernal from Anidroid which i got from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1761190
Now I really liked the performance of this rom, but it dont have s-pen feature, also the inbuilt apps, like dev devloper and other are really no use for me. So i would like to go for stock rom again as samsung is providing ICS 4.0.4 update to another countries.
But for the same performance like this rom, I would like to know can i use this ANIDROID KERNAL 3.0.36 with stock ICS? Also After doing this, will performance reamin same like now?
Also how to do it, I assume i should flash the stock rom, by flashing abyss kernal 1st. and in last i should flash Anidroid kernal, is this right?
One more thing i would like to know, that i am from India So there is no stock update available, then can i use update which is provided for another countries? and which will you recommend as Open Germany, Singapore (SingTel), Singapore or Malaysia?
Or i should wait for update for India?
My current details of mobile.

In theory it's possible... there are no reasons for the principal differences in the Kernel sources between Stock and CM brunches.. It's Linux with Android part of code and Samsung drivers.. but it needs testing for the issues prevents AniDroid and many other CM Source-based kernels working correctly on Stcok ROMs..

Theory is sometimes far from reality. I have yet to see a "universal" kernel for N7000 that can do what the OP wants.

Hey people. I have a Galaxy Ace (Cooper) :
Model number: GT-S5830
Android version: 2.3.7
Baseband version S5830XWKP7
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-perf-CL882825
[email protected] #21
CPU: ARMv6 rev 5
ROM: CyanogenMod-7.2.0-cooper
Build number: GWK74
I am wondering about my device's compatibility with ROM Manager, on the play store it says for samsung you must flash a suitable ROM first, and other people say Ace users should not touch it at all unless you want to risk a brick.
So my question is, on CM7 can I safely use ROM manager without bricking my Ace?
Thanks in advance
Note: I have another question surrounding my WiFi (software issue), if you can help pm me and i will give you details
Take a look at this >

NO DON'T!!!!!
It will brick your Ace.

Thanks for replying, I know about that thread, and posted this one knowingly, I ask this because i have used ROM manager once or twice, never for flashing though, fixed permissions and installed a later CMW recovery, and it says on the market for samsung you must flash a compatible rom first, and cyanogen is compat. Also some thread mentions this too....
no title lol

Yes I know, but thanks for your advice
Hi I'm new to this and I have looked everywhere on here (the answer prob is in here somewhere) but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for...
Basically I want to flash kernel without PC (if possible) using CWM. I was also hoping to put the latest (stable) CM ROM on it too. I reckon putting a custom rom on would require a PC.
Model number: GT-N7000
Android version 4.1.2
Baseband version : N7000XXLT3
Kernel version: 3.0.31-1103517 [email protected] #3 SMP PREEMPT
Build number : JZ054K.N7000XXLT9
Yes the baseband and build are different (XXLT3 & XXLT9) if that means anything
If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. Either with links or the files attached below I won't mind at all!
Thank you
Neither rooting nor installing a custom rom requires a computer till you have an external sd.
Follow.. To install cm11
Philz kernel -> make backup -> raw kernel -> install rom and gapps

Have you already rooted or you want to root and flash a different kernel?
Well neither of those things should require you to absolutely have a PC if you can download stuff onto your device
Also here is a helpful thread on rooting
Something there might help ^^
I would appreciate knowing if someone has installed Android 4.0.3 ICS on a Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000, and I would like to get their opinion on Android 4.0.3 ICS for the Galaxy S GT-i9000 ?
Does the Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000 have enough RAM for Android 4.0.3 ICS?
Thank You
Hello
I think yes, but a really long time ago. Now the Galaxy S works pretty well with Android Kitkat. Take a look at Slim Roms and CyanogenMod roms
I use Slimkat and it works really well.

Yes - unofficial roms tend to come with JVU bundled in by default. Even if they don't this can be easily changed using flashable modem files in the development section

You don't have to install Gapps but without them you won't be able to use the Play Store to download apps.
Of course, if you don't need Play Store either then you can juse use a rom without any gapps and sideload any apps you need.
In case you do want Play store but don't want any other apps, I'd say this Gapps package is worth a look
