Hi opinions please what device would you trade your N3 and why. Keeping developer support also in mind. Thx in advanced

Either the T-Mobile or the International version Note 3.
Sent from my SM-N9005A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Most likely because of unlocked boot loader, but any other devices? Perhaps lg flex?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using xda app-developers app
Indeed for unlocked bootloaders.
Nope. I dislike LG. They are the Crapple of the Android world.
I personally can't justify giving up the Note 3 for a different device. Too many great features that I love using.

I have an upgrade on my account and i cant see trading it in for any current offerings. However i am considering getting the Hisense x1 although i am torn between trading in better specs for more screen.
The touchscreen system inside a Tesla, but that'll never happen.
I'd do a yotaphone when it comes out. I'd trade it now for a Xperia Z ultra or Z2

This.
I'd also trade for a new AR15. Hey, it's a "device". You didn't say it had to be a cellular device.
I'd pick a T-Mo Note3.
Nothing has come out in recent months that's made me wish I had something else - I just wish we had an unlocked bootloader like T-Mo people.
The OLED screen is IMO a must-have, I really think they look better than LCDs - and of course, it's gotta be full HD, and >5 inches. That right there cuts out most of the options!
And it's gotta have a micro SD card slot as well, otherwise I can't carry my music around (and cloud music doesn't work in subway/etc - not to mention that music is something too important to trust to the cloud).
Only thing I wish it had was IP67 dust+water resistance - and it sounds like that's going to be in Sammy's galaxy line now, based on what we saw with S5 announcement.
I can honestly say there is no other device out there that I would want. My AT&T Note 3 suits me just fine.
Planning to get the new HTC One when it's released, in large part because of the unlocked bootloader and the original was my favorite device other than the N3. I just hated the camera.

The only devices I could settle for outside the Note 3 would be Note 2, GS4, GS4 Active, or GS5. But there is no current device that I would willingly trade for. Note 3 is awesome, and I love Touchwiz.

4, I love the phone and I sold my Note II for it. I'll probably keep it for the year unless the S4 or HTC M7 really catches my eye.
As soon as I get my Experia Z, I will keep it for what it was bought to be, a development phone I can play with.
4. Think I'll keep this thing till there are actual octacores otherwise there aren't any reasons to upgrade. So 3-4 years I'll keep it.

I still go back and forth between my Galaxy Nexus and my Nexus 4. I use the Galaxy Nexus when I'm snowboarding and for bar nights when I know things might get a little weird.
While I do still love the Galaxy Nexus, every time I pop the SIM card back into the Nexus 4 and turn it on I am instantly reminded of how much more solid the build quality and performance are on the Nexus 4. It really is an extremely noticeable difference.
For that reason I'll definitely be holding onto this phone for at least a year. At which point I'll probably get whatever the next Nexus is and use the Nexus 4 as the backup phone.

he said "actual octacore" as in 8 cores fire all at once. Samsung's new chip is 8 cores but it operates as a quad core. Only 4 cores are ever used at any point in time.

It depends on a screen size (and free funds to spend of course ). If the screen size is 5" or bigger I will consider N4 of HTC One.

My upgrade is in September so I still have some time to go. If Google comes out with a vastly improved nexus without a recycled design from another device. By vastly improved I'm talking about Camera quality, LTE, full HD screen and battery life. Sure I'll go for the nexus 5 but if they don't improve all those than I'm going to contemplate jumping ship.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Hmmmm...Nexus 5. If you'll note, the current nexus lineup are all named according to the display size. For Google to add a 4th nexus device to the lineup is unlikely (to much to manage), so the best guess is a refresh of the nexus 4, possibly by another manufacturer, and probably later in the year. What we can expect for I/O is a refresh on the nexus 7 (with the same name), and possibly a non-nexus device from Motorola that runs stock Android.

I think we could expect a new phone as well. Considering that key lime pie is a major update, there is bound to be new features for phones not just tablets. So they will be probably need another device to show off the new features of the new build. I'm doubting they will use a nexus 4 as a demo device, its already fairly old news.

I was offered a trade for a 32gb Nexus 5 for my Note 3. I was wondering if anyone is also considering this. I am stuck between the two. The only thing thats keeping me from doing the trade is that the battery is awful on the Nexus 5. Just wanted some opinions on this. Thanks

Definitely not worth the trade... If you wanted to you can just buy one used in a month for probably less than 300 and have both phones
agree with everyone here. just read all the reviews on both everywhere if you're still unsure. note 3 is still the best phone on the market. i was in your shoes too deliberating between the two and picked the note 3; very glad i did.
I'm sold on the Nexus 5 after I persuaded my coworker to get one, but I wouldn't even consider trading my note 3 for it.
The truth is I'm having some awful luck with my note. I'm on my 2cd device and I can't seem to stay connected to a wifi network. Plus the home button on both went from perfectly pushable to a sunk in button I have to mash with my fingernail. Sammy definitely didn't hit a home run as far as build quality imho.

This thread is all kinds of wrong. First the Note 3 is worth a considerable amount more than a Nexus 5. Second, this phone beats it in some important categories including screen, battery life and features.
And last but not least, stock Android blows. Especially the latest version with those big and ugly icons. Stock Android is super boring to me and too light on features.
Just my opinion but don't do it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using xda premium
Even with the bloat I think the Note 3 is far superior to any of Nexus devices. I even think the S4 is as well.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
Battery life on the Nexus 5 compared to the Note 3, is night and day. The N5 can't even last a day, not even close.
And I still love the deep Plasma blacks, and vibrant colors of AMOLED screens, I've seen the N5 in store, and it looks washed out in comparison.
Plus more RAM on the Note 3.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
Making a phone with that small of a battery is like putting a 3 gallon gas tank on a car...almost not usable. 3,500-4,000 mah should be the standard on phones these days. You would be very disappointed with the trade.
Note 3 -- Tapatalk version [HORRIBLE.1x]
Erica Griffin from YouTube did a mini review of the Nexus 5 and she was only about 3:30 uptime, 2:20 screen time and she was at 26% battery. It's a joke and even she was saying the same pretty much.
If you are a moderate to heavy user in any way, why would you even consider the Nexus 5?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using xda premium
I just returned my nexus 5 today. It's hard to use anything with a non amoled screen after you have used a phone with an amoled screen.
The nexus 5 camera was also horrible.
Sad part is, I bought the nexus 5 and gave my wife my note 3 and now she won't give it back, so it's back to the sgs4 for me

Hi All.
Juat git the note3. Thinking about the gear but heard some dodgy reviews..whats the verdict?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Verdict is that for the "version 1" device Samsung made great hardware - much better than anything else available on the market like sony, pebble, etc
and for the firmware - using rom developed by fOmey the functionality is GREAT - much better than the stock rom. It is all related to Your local preferences, but in fact with the custom rom You are getting miniature tablet! Read the ROM thread - at least OP and You will see how much had been achieved just in one month.
I really like the device, and the functionality superb!
It was kinda boring stock, but it's pretty awesome rooted.

It's very good stock with the latest update, it's unlimited with the null firmware. The future of the gear owners is great because we have no knox trigger, no region lock, we have root we have twrp and a great rom developer. And we have ( semms so..) the attention of samsung regarding the updates/improvements.

With respect this is am impossible question to answer. Read the specifications and if it fits your requirements then it will be fine for you. Its totally subjective and down to personal taste and what your expectations are. No single person can answer your question only you.
For example why did you purchase the note 3? That is also a very personal taste and again a subjective purchase.
I have owned them both from day one and so far enjoy them though neither are special in my own opinion (again subjective). They do what I require of them so they fit the bill in my case. I dislike the quality of construction of the note 3 and the GG could potentially have some issues with moisture. Read the threads here and providing you use caution with the GG you may enjoy it? Some don't some do.
Anybody come from a Note 3? I'm thinking of trading my Note for one of these.

The only thing I can see that you'll miss is the screen size.. and maybe the stylus.. otherwise everything else beats the note 3. I did notice that even with a gig of less ram, this phone still out performs the note 3. Oh and the sound is worth the switch alone.

Agreed 100% The stylus was great for a while but like all Samsung gimmicks, they just get in the way after a while.
And I know not everyone likes it, but BlinkFeed is a feature I use every day.

I made the transition from the Note 3 to this phone. The Note 3 ran pretty much flawlessly for me and I had no real complaints about it. It's just that I'm kind of phone obsessed and really wanted this phone.
This phone definitely has a way sexier build and feels like a quality device compared to the Note 3. I also feel that the camera is better on this phone than the Note 3. The difference in screen size is noticeable but this screen is not exactly small so you will get used to it after a little while.
Overall, if you are a phone fanatic who needs the latest and greatest I don't think you'll regret getting the M8. It's a sleek and sexy phone that takes better pics than the Note 3
