Can't we port/put HDR feature and others in our O2x's camera?
I don't know but you have a lot of options for HDR such as Camera360, CameraZoom, etc...
Cheers

You should def. try Camera 360 or CameraZoom FX. Both working absolutely problemfree with O2X and has also some nice filters (for e.g. HDR). But please note, Camera 360 is not designed for video capturing - CameraZoomFX has an integrated VideoFunct., but is not yet supported by O2X - I requested it already out from the app via mail.
If you wan't an all in one, try pudding camera or camera fx (both free). Optional you can also try Awesome Miniature Pro or PaperCamera - not as a main camera, but for some more filter options.
Idk the camera zoom was built in video function. Thanks

Is there a way to import the camera app of XZ in the XPS? Or another option in the HDR mode to take photos with 8MP?

Should be a hardware problem

You'd probably end up with the same camera, the features of the camera and camera decoding is defined outside of the actual APK
It depends much on the camera library - something like the "hardware driver" on our computer. The 2013 line of Xperia is equipped with ExmorRS sensor, maybe it's still too new for Sony to optimize the camera performance! (??).
Hello everyone, i've been using 4.2.2 Tonyp rom for the last 6 months, but the camera is really bad. The video recording is horrible, and i am unhappy about owning a phone capable of 1080p recording but not being able to use it.
Is there any 4.1 or 4.2 ROM with good camera ?
Or I have to use the original stock ROM in order to get acceptable camera quality?
Thanks in advance
Have you flashed feav's camera mod? It ports the stock camera app to Cyanogenmod.

Thanks for the hint! I'm facing similar problems, and I try to use @feav mode to improve camera quality.
The last Cyanogenmod nightlies camera quality are not really good enough.
Thanks again for the share!
I use lg camera for photo and video, also motoblur for video and hdr camera for photo
Hello guys I was planning to buy Nexus 5 but then I realized that I couldn't live without SONY so now I'm planning to buy Xperia Z1, so here is my question. I suppose that all of you know the third party camera app called ProCaptureCamera which is most awesome out there, so I'm interested if in options you still can select 20MP resolution and option to crop it to 16:9 / 16:10
Something like this but for 20MP instead of 13MP please check somebody, thanks!
You can actually...
[email protected]:9 = 5248x2952 and 7.93MB
[email protected]:10 = 5248x3280 and 9.33MB
i'm using [email protected]:9 with ProCapture Camera and it works great.
Thank you guys! Could you please post any sample just interested how it looks, thanks!

To be more accurate, other third party camera apps don't have ISO settings available either.
To be even more accurate ISO settings are available on non SONY rom, for example everything works on Cyanogen Mod
I took few photos with the new Android L app camera (works only with Nexus 5 and preview LPX13D : https://github.com/PkmX/lcamera/#l-camera ) to compare the current Google Camera app (version 2.3.020)

As soon as possible I will take new pictures
did you shoot DNG's and then edit them, or the photos from the new app are jpg from the app itself ?
I don't found settings to choose JPG or DNG so I don't know but there are the original shoots, I don't made any change

I think the app converts them to jpeg.. If u look on the folder, u can see both dng and jpeg files... But what the gallery shows u is the jpeg file not dng

Thanks. I thought there was an option to choose in settings between the 2.
I had to revert to 4.4.4 due to some radio issues, so i was not able to try the app.
i'm actually impressed with the outcome of this app.

shoot in 4:3 and crop your photo manually
There is an option for 16:9 in the resolution settings, but as rayiskon said, 16:9 mode just crops the 4:3 picture down to a 6 megapixel 16:9 image. Why not do it yourself, to fit the needs of each individual picture?
I am impressed with the pictures I've taken so far, I didn't expect the camera to perform better with Lollipop. It's a nice surprise =D

This has fast become my new favourite thread!
Really impressive what this app is doing / what this phone has been capable of...
Sorry for maybe stupid question, but how did you get that new Lollipop camera? I'm using latest Lollipop preview (LPX13D) and have old camera app.
Maybe it's because I've gapps installed? If so, can someone upload APK of the new camera?

Its amazing what a raw image can bring you! Does anyone know if the new Google Camera works on the leaked Nexus 6 firmware on ROMs using the LPX13C build?

Yeah I'd have tested it myself, but I had a couple of bugs with some apps I really needed to use and didn't get to confirm this before switching back to 4.4.4. Maybe I'll do it today, I couldn't get the camera to work anyways so worst case this will either 1.) fix it 2.) do nothing.

Yes and it works fine for me, just a little slower than the kitkat camera focus. And the manual focus is less accurate.

Mine doesn't seems to work ,everytime I open the app its very dark and stays dark till I manually adjust focus and I tested with everything on auto mode on lcamera and stock google camera,I hardly find any difference(tested indoors),maybe manual settings like yours will give some good results will test more
