Man I thought @skeevydude would have been all over this one.
I'm liking it's development so far. Limited though to what cm, kang and pa have reworked on kk..

Me too but skeevy is busy as hell i would guess since he is not active like before. But he is actually the maintainer for pacman on our device.
I'm not sure if this is being monitored or not since it's an alpha preview but the 3/4, 3/5 and 3/6 builds are getting com.android.incallui has stopped errors when calls are received. I did a clean flash on both. I can call out without any problems. The 3/3 build does not have the problem and has been stable enough that I've used it without incident for the past three days as a prolonged daily driverish test. Great work so far guys.
Funny enough I hadn't received a call in those updates until now and couldn't answer it, screen wouldn't wake. Then when they tried the call again I got the same ui fc you mentioned.
I've also noticed abnormal battery drain in the last 2-3 updates, which seem to be common with other cm11 based ROMs.

Well, up till last Wednesday or so my internet has been a bit iffy for the past month (buffer errors, dls failing, etc), suspect winter weather was a factor, and between that and work I wasn't getting to everything I wanted to. Anyways, last Friday we were all loaded up and ready to go camping, JUST started the RV, and the power to the house went out cause the wires connecting the Entergy meter to the house were fried (we're lucky the house didn't burn down) and we didn't have power restored till yesterday (right as I was leaving for work dammit).....luckily we had a fully stocked RV for camping and a generator.....and a PS3 with a my 42" TV. Problem was we only had an old ass 60 amp main input and it burnt up because we switched the house to electric appliances when the tree rooted through the gas meter last November. We've replaced that 60 amp with a 200 amp (most houses use 100-150A) and everything should be fine; my PC hasn't had a single crash since the powers been fixed, I thought my PC's power supply was getting bad, but it was the house's power supply that sucked.
Thanks for keeping up with this and starting the thread. I'd have had one hell of a time doing it mobile.
The worst\kinda funny part of all of it was our power went out on the first day of the last winter storm we'll see....snow, temps barley going above freezing during the day, yada yada. Now it's 40's at night and 60's during the day...
EDIT:

There's not supposed to be download links posted on XDA, just a link to the device's thread at PAC-rom.com. Give me 24 hours and I'll get it all done.

But I only got in a half hour of Assassin's Creed (the first one). The rest of the time it was being used for movies, most of which I didn't care to watch . I spent most of my time playing either random Super Mario All Stars + World (SNES rom), FFIII (Android), Link's Awakening DX (GBC rom), FFT (PSX rom), or the Japanese version of Castlevania SoTN (PSX rom). Emulators+Rom+Atrix HD ICS+Lapdock+PS3 Controller is awesome ....I need to look into using an Xbox 360 controller with the Lapdock. I love me some PlayStation, but the 360 has one of the best controllers around.
/Or an Xbox controller....I disassembled a broke Xbox, removed it's controller port, and wired a usb male end to it.
//Also spliced an Xbox extension cable into a plain usb male end.
///Xbox controller is just a usb cable with funky shaped ends.
//I've had 5 Xboxs (OG, 4 360's) overall, now just a box of spare parts in case I ever get a "new" one.
/They have really crappy power supplies, both the OG and first gen 360.

Dude, have you used a Xbox One controller?? If you think that the 360 controller is good, the x1 controller is heaven. Really, it just feels right to hold. Overall I like PlayStation better, but the x1 controller is the best controller I have ever held.
Back to the topic of the ROM, I cant make the phone go to sleep. As you can see, it is always awake. Aaarrgghhh said that is maybe an issue from CM, so that should be the reason.

Haven't played an X1 or a PS4 yet, but that X1 controller does look comfortable. The only downside is ya gotta have a usb dongle to use it wirelessly with a PC, which, more than likely, means it won't have very good Android support. The PS4 controller already has working 3rd party drivers that use the touch area as a touchpad, it's bluetooth, and'll probably have better Android support. The ability to use one controller for all my systems, PC and Android currently, is a big plus for me....though I'll probably end up getting a cheap PS3 or 360 controller from GameXchange -- X button on my first PS3 controller doesn't work, 2nd one likes to go crazy and activate buttons/sticks at random, and the start button on my 360 controller doesn't work either . I've had bad luck with my controllers over the past 6 months.
Guessing from that pic, something is causing a wakelock. I'd run Wakelock Detector and see if it detects anything. If it doesn't I'd watch logcat and see what error(s) keeps occurring and go from there. I did see that it enters deep sleep, but not for very long and not very often.
Also, don't use Arrrghhh's kernel with PAC. Just like with 4.3, it needs to be compiled with PAC's sources or have the ramdisk tweaked to include PAC's requirements. Don't know it you're using it or not, just throwing it out there.
I also noticed that WiFi was on constantly. Try setting WiFi to go on and off with the screen, saves battery and it'll show if the WiFi is buggy and causing the wakelocks.
And next time, wait 14 more seconds to take the screenshot (woulda make your time 4:20 )

Wazzup fellow Goon buddy?
Remember that TMobiles 3G network is not even an year old. It took At&t almost 2 1/2 years to get their "3G" network where I live. We are on that list and supposed to have it this quarter. TMO is moving fast and it doesn't go off how large you city is, it goes off how large your Market is and these are the larger TMO markets after the top 25 that launched by the end of 2008. So it will come to your town/city soon.

Funny that this town in ID that doesn't exist gets 3g, But Boise doesn't even though we have a t-mo call center
yeah that list says Q2-Corpus Christi, Texas...Still edge here and only a couple days of the quarter left!
I'm happy to report that Corpus Christi, TX just got 3G during the early morning hours. It's working great, and the combo of Cyan's rom and 3G, well I never dreamed this phone was capable of this! It's not much different than using a netbook now (if you use online programs to do your owrk).
WOW

Yeah, it's working just fine on the Southside of Corpus.
Well, I say it's working fine. I get 4 bars on Edge, 2 bars on 3G.
I haven't checked what to expect from 3G, but here are my speedtest results:
Does anybody know if these results are typical?

UPDATE
I just had a word with one of their customer respresenative named Mandy, she sounded very pleasant and nice. After going through the whole dealing process she insisted that the minimum order to modify an item is 500 units. So if any of the manufacturers or businessman can order 500 HD2 then it might be possible that we can have a custom built Qwerty Keypads for our HD2.
By the way she also assured that the item is bieng checked by one of the quality checking teams and it will be available on the website pretty soon. So enjoy the beautiful keyboard since then.
Just found another website which is selling the same product. Have a look here : http://www.chinajiaho.com/mini-bluetooth-keyboard-for-ipad-and-smartphones_p1361.html
The Big Deal
Now while going through the product description i noticed quite interesting details:
It is almost simlar to the length / breadth height with our hd2.
HTC HD2 :120.5mm x 67mm x 11mm KEYBOARD:115mm x 60mm x 6 mm
What More !!
As specified on the website, they also have custom made keypads available if the product is bought on lots or wholesale of 500 and above number.
Now this is interesting as i am going to contact them and ask them strictly to this option whether they can make custom keypads with a hinge or a hook for an hd2, i would happily place an order of 500+ keyboards.
Dont you all think this would be a great addon for our HD2. If anyone interested please add your comments here, and lets make this idea into reality.
Imagine HD2 with a Qwerty Keypad .. This sounds to good to be true.
Price/Cost
And my last surprise to you, this is worth only only only USD 20
For more details you can go directly to the production description website : THE CHINAVASION WEBSITE HAS BEEN DELETED FOR NOT MEETING CUSTOMER NEEDS.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM CHINAVASION. BAD REP, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

looks awesome!
ready to buy NOW!
tooo bad ...
Sold out .....
lol, check the word "Keyborad" on the images, wrong spelling. Typical "made in China" !
The keyboard itself looks interesting and will be very handy though. Really excited to try
I don't get why the OP is going on about bulk orders for modifying them. First of all we need to order 500+ to get them modified, then we only need 25+ to get them modified.
Why on earth do they need modifying in the first place? I'm lost.
i think he means 500+ to get them modified to an easier design to use with the hd2, and 25+ to buy now as they are.
How would it fit onto the hd2? or wont it at all. If it cant clip on, or you just hold it, what the point? lol you might as well have just got a phone with a keyboard...
otherwise ur gonna have to carrry around a huge keyboard with you everywhere.
silly idea im afraid, you wont get 500 people to buy them i can tell you that now..

hey mate thanks for correcting here, i actually didnt remove the other comments after updating, doing it now. thanks. the keypad can be modified only if we order above 500+ units. i am not a businessman so cannot ask them for such order. anyways when it will be available i will update my post. thanks though bringing it to my attention.
visually it reminds me of the rhodium keyboard.
I have to admit for occassional use it would be great, I don't tend to write articles and stuff on my pda any more, whereas I used to on my advantage all the time. I may be tempted if it felt good to use, which is the risk with some of these, they feel awful to actually type with
looks a very cheap price, most other sellers are charging twice that price.

I want one. For $20 you can't go wrong. Could be very handy for remote controlling many apps and may allow control of lots of games, etc I can't otherwise control because of lack of hard keys. When can we order??

They do include a 2 GB card with 100 books for the additional $80 price increase.
If those 100 books only included 9 or 10 that I wanted to read (that were not already public domain) -- it may be a fair deal.
That is not going to be the selling price - During the TV show, they will say:
But wait, if you call right now, you get it for only

Hello people of xda.....
I'm thinking of making a custom back for the nexus 7 that would remove lots of heat
what it would do is snap on where the old back went and would have
the back, printed on a 3d printer accurate to 2/100"
A 1 1/4" fan from radioshack
a rechargeable 9v battery
a switch for the fan
possible power and volume buttons
this case would be used for those of us who extreme overclock ex running at 1.6ghz with the gpu at 520 who want to rid of some heat.
WHAT THIS CASE WOULD NOT HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wifi antenna
gps antenna
bluetooth antenna
Let me know if you would like to get in on this

Sorry to go off topic, haha, anyways, my tablet doesn't get hot, I think the best thing for you to do is just add more copper to the existing heat sink, airflow will only drag dust into the tablet.
Just went and grabbed my hefty set of dial calipers! time to start modeling!
And also, i might put a small and thin filter (very small pores) inbetween the case and the fan but i think as long as you dont kick it under the fridge while the fan is on i think it would be all right
in order to hold onto the tablet without copying googles latches..... im afraid to say that
the back will have to come above the edge of the tablet and snap over the top just a little hopefully though. should solve the not level with the bezel screen issue that is stock. win win
EDIT* Facepalm, my calipers dont go above 6in how did i not see that coming....
how to measure corner Radius anyone?
Bumpity
Can someone find me a small, compatible usb otg cable that i can put in here and mount?

You can try to get official/accurate specs from Asus or from a case manufacturer.

in my dreams.
anyways i just made a shell of what the case should look like for it to fit inside
now time to add vents and the fan mount area!
Just an update for some people....
a standard rechargeable 9v battery would run the fan for about an hour and a half
if i put 2 in there, it would make it balanced and give about 3 to 3.5 hours of fan life (about what you get with a fully overclocked kernel)
so what will it be, 1 or 2?
if you used non rechargeable 9v's you would get about 5.5 hours of fan life, 2 would get you 11 which would be good
So more development has happened
got the case "complete" afak until i can print a prototype which is a week or so
i know its a bit thick, but what do you want from 2 9v's and a fan?
i hope some of you will get excited about how development is actually happening\
Tell me whatcha think!

This does look quite nice I do kinda like the ability to use NFC though and have an overall lightweight device, but perhaps something like this would be nice on a stand instead? Then I can put my N7 on the stand, do some benchmarking, games, whatever else I want, and then when I want to travel, I simply take the back off and go back stock.

Honestly? I think you're wasting your time and everyone else's. No-one is going to buy something like that to cool a gadget that doesn't even get hot in a case, which brings up another point, where would you find a case to fit your souped up N7 afterwards?
There has to be a more worthy project for you to spend your time and money on.

A lot of people here flash custom kernels to overclock their CPU to 1.64 GHz. In this instance, the device can get noticeably hotter after heavy usage...so this case will serve a purpose for some. Also, I believe the OP plans on integrating an inbuilt OTG mount, who wouldn't want that?!
Why don't you put a radiator, pump, and reservoir for kicks? A water-cooled tablet would be crazy badass!
Pardon the sarcasm. I believe people will be more interested in a built-in usb hub. Slap in a micro sd card reader in one port and 3 fullsize female usb in the other (for keyboard, mouse, portable drive, sixaxis controller, etc.). No more lack of sd card slot problem. Of course it will need a little tweak by swapping the mount points of the internal and the external sdcards, but it is doable.
If you want, instead of a micro sd, you can go for a multi card reader so the users will have options. Pictures or videos in the storage card can be viewed, edited, saved, or emailed from their dslr's straight to the tablet for example. The possibilities are endless.

Just curious: how useful are we finding these HP Touchpads to be after so many years? For me, it sat on the shelf unused for probably 2 years or more. I just rediscovered it, dusted it off, wiped it and reinstalled the latest KitKat nightly and put it back to use. I threw out my old beast of a clock radio, and set up the tablet as a bedside alarm clock and weather station, and installed just a few apps to control some smart devices in my home. Keeping the device free of email, calendar, social media apps and turning all syncing off, and it performs with remarkable speed and stability. A web browser and Google app are there if I want to look something up and my phone is not in reach. (I'm resisting the urge to install lots of other stuff just to amuse myself....)

I have it as a nice living room clock since it sits on that wireless charger. I even used it today to search something in the internet because I didn't want to get up and look for another tablet.
I wanted to use it as a surveillance camera as well but I have an old rom (Ice Cream) and my camera doesn't work. I've searched here for a new rom that has a working camera, but most of the links are gone now.
Anyone know of a working link for a rom that has a working camera?
Just received a TouchPad a week ago, after sitting around for 5 years. After jump starting the battery, I found it is running WebOS 3.0.5
It's about to be a new guinea pig
Later, my dad will be using it for reading books.

My TP has once again become my daily driver. It has outlived two replacement tablets! I keep it around as my "hard duty" machine - family trips, camping, etc...
But my ASUS tablet died (touch sensor no longer works), so I downgraded from 8.1 to KitKat for stability. A week later, it's doing just fine as my primary web- and amazon- surfing device.
Now I'm searching the XDA forums for advice: what relatively current, inexpensive, 10-inch tablet has good developer support? any recommendations would be appreciated!
I'm using the 8.1 daily 8.1 Dirty Unicorn 8.1 and is the most stable in 8.1 or 8 is the best I can only say that this is missing blueto, camera and the wifi icon, I would like to optimize the kernel and take the nuclei to options Optimal equilibrium and have the latest default video codex is a great job I am very happy and congratulate Dirty Unicorn is impeccable excelnete can improve at the moment load the version with several opengap options 8.1 even full digue package being the best nano option but fucniona with another given more space in system I think if you give the double cache in space instead of 200 goes better
