I have a VZW Moto X running the 4.4.2 OTA. Ever since the update, when driving my default music app opens up. It doesn't play anything though. I am connected to my truck for bluetooth calls. I want this to quit happening - it didn't start until I installed the OTA. Any ideas?
Thanks for any help.
Go into Assist in the app drawer, then under the driving tab you should see options to turn on or off the resume music play. This is what I'd think is causing your music app to start when you drive.

The option was already off. I turned it on then off again, so next time I drive I will see if it did anything.
Thanks for the suggestion - I will post back with results.
That definitely didn't do the trick. It still automatically opens when driving.

Same here. Report it to Motorola so it gets fixed.

Ok this is driving me crazy, randomly the app watch on will pop up in my notification bar. I disable it and it will just pop up again at a random time. Does anyone know how to permanently remove? besides freezing it of course

This just started happening to me the other day. I don't understand why because it hasn't done it before. I too disabled the notification and it automatically turns itself back on. I cleared the data and started over but that did not help. I froze the app with tbu a little bit ago because I rarely use it. It is frustrating because that is one of the only Samsung apps that I like. I too would like to know of a fix for it.

holllly cow. I have been battling this for 3 days now. I thought it was just my phone being supper glitchy. I have gone as far as to uninstall the app... witch will stop it from comming up in the notification bar. Then i re download it from play store. After about 4 reboots it comes back. I will set it in the setting to not come on in notification pannel. Boom its back. No way to stop it..... same with a few other apps. Its like they do not close the correct way and do not save the settings. My swannview dvr app is one more that wont save settings because it won't close correctly.
I don't know if this narrows it down but I noticed when I had wifi turned off I never got it but the second I turned it back on it started popping up again.
I have the same problem. This morning, while trying to disable the notification bar setting again, I got nag popup about allowing Watchon to use mobile data or only wifi. I selected the allow mobile data option and do not ask me again. Now, I can't find the setting to change it back to see if that would affect the notification bar problem. I don't want to test all of the settings because I would lose the devices that I have setup. I assume the problem is caused by an update to Watchon. The only thing I have changed recently us switching to Nova Launcher. Could this be related?

Judging by this I would assume it is the location settings that is triggering this. Try to go to system settings > More > Location services > My places > Choose the places and click none. I can't confirm this works, but it seems that this is triggering for the problem. Also note this isn't a great solution; other location services may be affected with this change.
This is caused by the latest WatchOn update.
I use WatchOn since the day I get my S4 Active (2 months ago) and this NEVER HAPPENED before the update.
I had to disable WatchOn with TB.
Another example of Samsung messing up good stuff!

It has nothing to do with location services. All of mine were already set to none, and I have the same problem.

Sorry then, it must have been the WatchON lock screen location settings I was thinking of. No clue, honestly.
So did this ever get worked out? I just got the note 3 and am already seeing this behavior.
SOLUTION!..
Here is how i disabled remote control on notification panel and lock screen.
Its on Watchon Settings.
watch work done
This is what I did:
Settings
More
Application Manger
Samsung WatchOn
Remove the check for "Show Notifications"
This doesn't stop the program from starting on powerup, but it removes it from the notifications.
This is a thread that should be closed. The problem was fixed by an update. I can confirm that it did exist at one time, but the only people that still have thre problem either have not updated or they have not changed their settings.

I really don't like the 7.0 version of Google Maps, so much so that I rooted my phone (HTC One) to install the 6.x version. I use the Navigation app all the time in my car. My problem is that no matter what I do, it keeps getting updated to the 7.x version every few days. I have it detached from the Market with TiBackup Pro, and turned off all Market updates for all apps on the phone. It doesn't matter, in a couple of days I'll jump into my car, hit the Navigation button from the Car menu screen and get "welcome to 7.0!". I can restore it from my backup in about 5 minutes, but who want to do that everytime I get in the car. Any ideas?

Playstore>settings>do not auto update, that's it.
Why did you go into so much trouble. I find 7.0 a major improvement. Anyways, just uncheck the auto update for Maps in the three dot menu

What can I say, but I (and lots of other) have a different opinion. But anyway, I don't see any auto update available. And it has been detached using TiBackup.

when you go in the playstore and you click inside of the Maps application,
if you hit the menu button next to the share button, make sure the "Auto update" box is also unchecked,
not just the one in play store settings. That's how I got my snapchat to stop updating.
Hope that helps!

Nope, when I do that, it goes to the same setttings page as the store, which is already set to 'do not update', nothing specifically for that application. I"m running 4.3, maybe that's different.

I had this issue with another app. The solution was to re-sign the app so that the Play store didn't recognize it. Check out this link and let us know if it works for you:

Sorry if this is noob questions, but all the time on my phone, google play will open up to a random game/app while I'm doing other things. Specific examples:
When I'm using talk to text-- the microphone will grab half of what I'm saying, freeze, and then switch to google play with "uber" up or something.
When I'm typing a text message, google play will pop up.
When i wake up the the morning, and go to turn off the alarm, there is an ad in the way, and I have to press home, open clock to turn off the alarm.
These are the three most common instances where the ads come up, and it's just super annoying. Does anyone have any suggestions to get this to stop?
Thanks in advance!!
Must be an app you installed recently. Try checking Google Play reviews of apps you have on your phone (look for reviews with similar complaints).

As said above it's probably an app . I had a similar problem long back . It's usually from an ad supported app that runs in the background (eg: Applocker or equivalent, photo hiding app , another telephony app like full screen caller HD or something) .So check which apps are running in the background before you start un-installing :good:
surely an app....
If you're a normal user, you need to revisit you Installed Apps and find out! (some app which has lot of Permissions is doing this, ignore them in future)
If you have root, AdAway would be handy.
If you have root+Xposed, MinMinGuard will do the job.
It's surely an app. Try installing this, will tell you which app are pushing ads to your phone, then you can uninstall them.

Hello
Before Nougat upgrade I could switch to other apps while using Android Auto on my Nexus 6P. Or maybe I only could do it when I still had my LG G4? Can't remember.
Yesterday I had started Android Auto and after that I was going to start an app that I use to listen to audiobooks. I could not do this, I could not get away from AA. So I ended up stopping Android Auto and just used Google Maps instead to navigate so I still could control my phone.
Does anyone know any trick to start other apps when AA is started?

That's how aa works on my z5 mm - exiting car mode (to interact on the phone) ends aa.
I can control certified apps from my head unit.
Yes, it is supposed to work like that. It's not exactly the way I like it but that't how it works. But there might be a way around it for you.
I use iCoyote (a radar app) on my phone and before I connect the phone to Android Auto, I start that app. When Android auto has completed the connection with the car, I am able to put the app back on screen using the status bar. Of course, this only works for apps that are visible in the status bar but I suspect that will be the case with your audiobook app.
A better solution for you however, is to switch to another audiobook app that supports Android Auto. I haven't tried one yet but there are plenty of audiobook apps available in the app store that have support for Android Auto so you won't need to control the app on your phone anymore.
I figured out a workaround. Open Now on Tap and do what you need to do from there.
(start it by long-pressing home button)

No, but it lets you start an app on your phone even though you're not supposed to be able to do that while using AA.
This sucks though, because if you have a passenger in the car it is of course OK do this, or if you have stopped the car.
On my S7E, I just tap the recent key, then the home key immediately afterwards to go back to Nova Launcher. I have to use that button sequence every time, but it works reliably.
I really hope they don't 'fix' this 'problem' when 7.x hits these phones. I find the verbal message narration to be quite unacceptable.
Luckily, I have a N7 in my daily driver, so this is mostly a moot point for me, but could be a concern when I get my model 3.
I thought I'd give the OP3T music app a go (having always used the Google Play Music one previously)
I've gone back to Google Play Music as the OP3T app isn't right for me.
Now, whenever I plug in headphones it starts auto-playing - but there's no "settings" in the app, or obvious way to stop it doing this.
Any idea how I can do this?
I'm on Beta 11, totally stock, not rooted etc.
Thanks,
Doh!
You can just uninstall it!
I didn't even think about that - figured it was a system app (that wouldn't let you uninstall).
Problem solved.

I would have figured that, too. But even if it were (and not able to uninstall w/o root), you should be able to disable it in Settings>Apps.
And yeah, the OP music app is totally useless. The lack of support for any type of playlists is baffling.
