if you have cwn installed , and lg drivers , you can try to enter in recovery with adb
the command is: "adb reboot recovery" without "". download adb from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111771
copy the files (from adb folder) to the root of drive c:\\ . run(as admin) a cmd window.. type cd c:\\ , and "adb reboot recovery" without "" . your phone should boot into recovery now.

Can you confirm the phone start up? LED light on or off?
If yes, try all unbrick method
If no, I think you should bring it to service center
I think he want to get in S/W Update mode
Thank you very much for your help.
Hey guys
I noticed that many people are having problems to flash using fastboot. They report that fastboot says the bootloader would be locked, even if it's definitely unlocked.
so my question, who of you is able to flash (kernels for example) using
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img
and who can flash using
Code:
adb reboot oem-unlock
fastboot flash boot boot.img
I've been talking to LG about this problem, but all they said was to change a driver config for ADB. But due to the fact that I'm using Linux, it is impossible that it is a driver problem. I also tried their "solution", but guess what... it didn't work.
first one don't work by me
please use the poll, so that we've got all informations bundled

I can flash everything,rom,kernel...
Everything works just Reboot bootloader is not working.
Has an idea? Thanks
I can't really test adb due to idiot computer asking for disk to be inserted. But when I reboot to bootloader it says "now ready" which didn't happen when it was locked. Used the hacked method too, my odm_reserved reads:
0x000000000000000000000000000000000000fdffffffcafffffffdfffefeffed
As @laufersteppenwolf probably knows I am UK 234-000 user, unlocked with the original terminal hacked that blew all our fuses

it's not about the bootloader being locked, it's about the ability to use fastboot for flashing something (kernel for example)

I know, but does yours say "now ready"? If so then LG really did screw up, idiots
Also if I type "reboot oem-unlock" in terminal I get "welcome to fastboot mode "

You tried typing OEM unlock command? A few people have to do this to get to correct working fastboot mode. In fact I think the guy that got my BL unlocked with his echo odm method had this issue

Reboot oem-unlock works in terminal emulator, that's the only way I can get into "welcome to fastboot" screen. When you can try it, if you can flash stuff through here then we have a solution for you unlucky fellows

Security error for reboot oem-unlock, but manual flash is possible. Normal fastboot says BL is locked, as usual.

maybe you guys can contact LG, too. So they eventually can realize that they've f**ked up, regarding the bootloader...

adb reboot oem-unlock i got the fastboot welcome screen. i was hoping to see the unlock screen once more because i think something went wrong..
guys, I'm stuck at the CM10.1 boot animation, and after reading numerous posts I found some saying that I need to flash the boot.img through the fastboot. I've managed to go to the Welcome to LG Fastboot Mode though TWRP2.5.0.0 reboot -> bootloader. But when i try fastboot devices my device isn't listed... Any advice on what should I do? Is there any other way to solve the boot issue? I've waited like 15 mins with the phone not getting further than the CM10.1 Logo... :'(
PS: I'm using Minimalistic ADB and Fastboot from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42407269
both reboot commands "oem-unlock" and "bootloader" are defined in the kernel source code. "oem-unlock" sets an intern hardware flag for booting the unlocked mode and "bootloader" just sets the normal bootloader flag.
wondering why the reboot parameter "recovery" actually only does a normal reboot? (CM has an additional script they call before rebooting to recovery for setting the recovery boot flag)
right, no "recovery" command defined in the kernel source, but its only a few lines of code to add this
------
reboot
bootloader: locked fastboot
oem-unlock: unlocked fastboot
some time ago i messed around with these hardware flags and now oem-unlock doesnt work. it boots instead into recovery lol. no clue why

problem ( Please help quick )
Hi Every One
i have a question
i install new firmware to update hboot
first step to install was relocked bootloader and i did it
after installation i want to unlock my bootloader but my android does not up and freaze on htc one boot animation
how can i unlock my bootloader via fastboot ?? please help me quick
I'm struggling to install Beanstalk on my 4X HD and I'm just so tired right now...
I somehow managed to unlock bootloaer via lock-relock app (in hidden menu, BL test shows "unlock" so I guess that's ok?)
I have root - well, I wouldn't be able to unlock BL without it...
And now, to install Beanstalk I need to flash CWM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2523732
But to flash CWM I need to set up fastboot drivers and there's the problem :/
With the simple app - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979 - adb works ok, with "adb devices" it shows my device, but "fastboot devices" doesn't work at all. And I've read that there's this way to make fastboot working on Windows 8.1 - http://forums.team-nocturnal.com/index.php/topic/1362-how-to-adb-fastboot-in-windows-xp-7-81/ - but it doesn't work as well...
There's too much things... Dis I miss something? Maybe there's a faster and easier way to install Beanstalk? What do I have to do to get KitKat flavour on my O4X?
You can flash recovery via adb or terminal emulator
I have the same problem, you should try this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230934....
I updated drivers while i unlocking bootloader by toolkit, you start toolkit, go unlock bootloader before that you check usb debugging, than follow instruction in toolkit, than phone will reboot and enter in donwloading mode(for bootloader unlock) go right click on This PC, Properties, Device manager, and you will see fastboot. And than just update driver... Right click on fastboot and Update Driver Software, navigate to the file and thats it....
Fastboot driver Download: http://www55.zippyshare.com/v/67020672/file.html
You will need winzip for this.
You can install cwm via this rootkit and later you just update with rom manager https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager
I flashed recovery straight from my phone using a terminal emulator, no need to connect it to a computer. I can't remember the command though.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Ok, Kitkat is now powering my phone :victory:
Thanks for all the advices, but I used little app from GP called Flashify. It flashed CWM_6.0.1.1 with no problems at all.
I'm so happy to finally have Beanstalk ^.^

http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-2-laser/general/ze600kl-official-bootloader-unlock-t3273263
Download attached file
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz46tV6s-sImeFMyVnB5aUlmbDg/view?usp=sharing

(as image file have name boot_20007).
let process complete & phone will restart automatically.
Now you have working root for this version.
working xposed may be download from official thread.
Any credit goes to community.
use at your own risk, I, XDA-developrs or any other concern party will be not be liable for any loss.
Anyone may use this root in their website, but give proper credit.
Really wish there were some one click root apps out there that actually worked for this phone, since unlocking boot loader voids warranty.

With the announcement of Android M coming to Zenfone 2 series, I am rather disinclined to root now. Is there a way to un-root and regain the ability to do FOTA updates? Or is there a way to update to Android M when it is released?
1.16.40.1020
Is this root method compatible for the update 1.16.40.1020 ?
Is this compatible with 1.16.40.1020?
Thank you Rajlko,
Rooted my Zenfone 2 Laser ZE601KL successfully with Android version 5.02 firmware WW-1.16.40.1338.

Download ADB Fastboot tools from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790 and download USB driver from Asus site. Install the ADB Fastboot tool in window. Install USB driver.
In Window File Explorer, select ADB folder and on right column blank area, right click + Shift to select "Open command window here" a command prompt window will appear

Couldn't agree more. We should be able eradicate the ASUS bloatware, plus the Cheetah Mobile and Trend Micro bloatware, installed with the default ROM, without losing our bloody warranty! After all, this phone is sold in part on the merits of it's unlocked feature. They don't state that it's an "unlock, kill warranty" feature!
Bastards!
just a quick question, i tried to unlock my device (ze601kl) it pops out and show me " An unknown error occurs, which may be a network connection issue ", i tried to surf google for it, it mostly happen for Asus Pad but no results of ZE601KL.. my build : WW_1.16.40.1338 , Asus_Z011D with android version 5.0.2. i think exactly same with Nirano.. please help
Edit : must i update to latest firmware? or i could just use unlocker as long as above 1.15.xx.xxx ?
Rajlko, it doesn´t work on ASUS Zenfone ZE601Kl with marshmallow.
How can I root my ze601KL with WW-21.40.1220.1698 marshmallow????
Thanks in advanced.
@rajlko
Why does the link after "update your firmware to the latest version," reference
ZE550KL (a Z00L device)
instead of
ZE601KL (a Z00T device)
?
Is this a mistake or is the 'secret' to rooting the ZE601KL include installing the 'wrong' firmware?
Thank you.
Doesn't work on my Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ZE601KL (model Z011D) with Android 6.01 Marshmallow and the latest firmware WW-21.40.1220.1998. Instead, now when I try to turn on the phone in fastboot mode it freezes and I have to take out the battery to take it back to normal. Not a single root apk works either. Any help?
Hello guys,
I read similar post about that problem but solution provided didn't work for me. So the problem is I would like to change my Lineage OS 14 to 15 but I'm not able to run my devices in Fastboot (it's not stable and turn off after 20 seconds). The recovery itself is not responding to touch (even after the display go dark). I'm not able to replace mine current TRWP with newest one with official app either because it says that my device is not rooted.
Any ideas what can I do now ?

Yes, while turning on underneath the Mi logo it says "Unclocked". ADB can see my device, but fastboot cannot (I've downloaded the drivers for Xiaomi).
Then try to unlock again with mi unlock and there is also option to install drvr
