Hi,
My buddy messed up with his i9001 and the current condition when turn on the device,it show "SAMSUNG" and going directly into CWM recovery wihout me holding the power & vol up.
I've tried format system, wipe etc / partition internal SD and success installing fresh ROM zip from external SD but again it does the same again and again by going into CWM recovery. Also when in CWM recovery if reboot automatically like every 5minutes.
Your help will be appreciated!:cyclops:

Yup!and odin multidownloader recognize the device.I've got into ODIN and selected the ops but i do not know where to get the tar,md rom files. or should i just use odin3?what's the difference anyway?
p/s: i do not know which rom etc it was with before.Read somewhere about PIT but i do not quite get it.I'm in Malaysia.
it's rebooting in cwm recovery.... so you will need to flash bootloader: you cand find in i9001 wiki page at cwm recovery section a link to a single post where you will have all you need to flash bootloader and instructions . Good luck !! :good:

Yup just flash stock rom with ODIN if you cant boot/recover

I'm not sure bumping old topics is a good idea, but if you're having the same issue the same solution would work. Just follow the steps described here.
Dear members,
Please help me find a solution to the issue that had occured:
Recently I've flashed CM9 to my i9001 using serial recovery. Now I wanted to change to CM10 but the phone won't go to recovery mode - it goes to download mode automaticly (like recovery doesn't exist enymore). I've tried switching to recovery from ROM and from turned-off phone but still no results. Please help me get the recovery into the phone

R: [i9001]Need help
Apart that this is a dev section and we have a question and answer thread for this, you should flash a recovery again with Odin and if nothing happens again, I suggest you to flash an entire GB official ROM and restart from zero.
Please, next time use Q&A Thread.

Hi Guys,
I've been trying to install CWR on my samsung GT-i9000 all day but the result is my phone doesnt boot anymore.
I can boot to download mode so that at least positive
I've tried to follow the guide i've linked below but the problem is I cant download the rom he refers to.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379650
I installed the CWR from his guide but I cant start into recovery to install a ROM
All the ROMS is see in development are zip files (and i need recovery for this i think) and there are not TAR files
I hope some1 can put me in the right direction.
Thanks a lot!
Kind regards,
Jesse

Thanks a lot fazbarulho!
I opened the file and see there is also a recovery option.
I assume I have to flash the rom first with odin and use the following files:
s1_odin_20100512.pit
CSC_JW4.tar
PDA_JW4.tar
PHONE_JW4.tar
And after that reboot and flash using:
CF-Root-XX_OXA_JW4-v4.4-CWM3RFS
Is this correct?
EDIT: I can confirm that this method works for other people who want to install CWR.
fazbarulho really nice from you to help me, thanks again!

Jesse
Hello,
Extremely new to rooting/flashing android phone.
I need some help!!
I fudged my phone by trying to install Chainfire 3D when it was clearly stated that it is not supposed to be supported.
Running ParanoidAndroid 3.60 by beerbong
and latest NX kernel
After installing drivers the phone was stuck at the PA logo
I then tried to boot into CWMR but the screen gets stuck at the samsung logo with the yellow triangle.
I am completely freaking out and do not know what to do.
Please explain in simple language and with steps/links/videos.
I am sorry if this has been asked before but I honestly could not find anything like this.
Please help! :crying:
Solved thank you !!

see if you can get into recovery and if you have PA rom and Gapps on external card, try to flash and see if it works. If cant enter recovery, try to flash philz (.tar) kernel using pc odin in download mode, if you can enter recovery then flash the rom and gapps.

download temporary cwm and copy it to sd card turn off phone and go to recovery mode by holding volume up +power button and use volume buttons to go up and down there and power button to select and select update zip from sd card and select the zip file you copied in sd card
if you want permanent cwm you must install cocore kernel

You do not need permanent. And CM ROMs are stock recovery flashable, so you do not need it. You can install CM10.1, CM10.2, CM11 that way (and probably some other CM based ROMs) :victory:
Update CWM v.6.0.4.7 to v.6.0.4.8
I had thought to make a new thread related to the new version of CWM update. Well, because there are made threads, so I want to express my question. Where can I update CWM v.6.0.4.7 to v.6.0.4.8 specifically for the S Advance? Thanks..

You must compile kernel with new CMW to get it I think. We have recovery in the same partition where kernel is.
