This is a step by step instruction guide for those having issues flashing this ROM using a MF9 Bootloader and wanting to keep their bootloader Knox free. This should only be attempted if you have tried the first install option multiple times and are following the instructions completely (unless you are already rooted) and are getting hung up at the Sprint Splash screen. Read these instructions carefully and all the way through BEFORE you do this processes and make sure you are not cutting corners.
1. You need to be on MF9 bootloader
2. You need to flash a stock unrooted MDC.tar file.FROM HERE Once downloaded you have to extract the .tar file using 7zipper or a program similar. I got mine from RWilco's site found here..
3. Once you have the stock .tar file you can then boot to download mode to prepare for Odin. Power down completely. Then press and hold Power + Vol down. You will see a warning page and then press vol up to get to download mode.*
4. Now plug your phone into your computer and open *Odin. I use 1.85 but some may use a later version. They all work.
5. Once connected to Odin the box in the middle to upper left should be yellow to let you know your phone is connected.*
6. Now click on PDA and find the .tar file for the stock rom that was obtained from rwilco's site. Hit start and let it run its course.*
7. Once Odin says Pass, the phone will reboot and you WILL get a yellow Sprint screen and nothing else. Don’t freak out. Press and hold the Power button and reboot the phone. Then press and hold power + vol up to boot into the stock recovery. From there do a factory reset and then the phone will boot up.*
8. Once fully booted you will have a small OTA update followed by the MF9 OTA update. This is the last OTA you should take.*
9. Once you go through those 2 updates you can then root using cf auto root @ the bottom of the page.. or Download FROM HERE through Odin... place the file IN PDA SLOT (do the steps to get to download mode from above). Let it do its thing and the phone will reboot.*
10. Once you're booted up check to make sure you're rooted by looking for the super SU app in the app drawer.*
11. Now it's time for your custom recovery. Go back into download mode as mentioned above, plug the phone into the computer and open Odin once again to flash the CWM 6.0.4.4 recovery.*
as of 3-11-14.... TWRP 2.7.0.1 flashable zip works GET IT HERE THANKS @reverepats !!!
12. Let the phone boot back up after the recovery flash.*
13. Now power down fully again and boot back into download mode.
14. Flash the mk2 modem found here (http://tinyurl.com/krvqtqt) through Odin and boot back up.*
15. Go to Settings and About Device and make sure the baseband and version both match and end with mk2.
16. Now power down again and boot back into download mode. At this point it's time to flash the NAE modem to get you ready for Kit Kat. That modem also can be found at the above link for Unknown or in the OP in this thread.
17. Once you flash the modem through Odin follow Sacs instructions on how to flash the 4.4.2 rom.
It sounds like a lot but really isn't and it will assure you that you're starting with a clean slate and a Knox free bootloader.*
*You can use PDA for all your .tar files for this process in Odin or AP for later Odin programs.*
**This process will also work for those on MJA and MK2 bootloaders with Knox. You can follow the same steps but instead of going back to MDC you have to go to MJA and work up from there. There will only be one OTA update taken and that's from MJA to MK2. Once on MK2 follow Sacs instructions on how to flash the rom and you'll be good to go.
Thanks go out to Unknown and rwilco for their hard work and dedication
Sweet! Can't wait to see it!

!! DOWNLOAD / NIGHTLIES ARE NOW AVAILABLE !!
http://get.cm/?device=p3
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
/!\ Before doing anything make sure your bootloader is unlocked and you have a rooted device!
1. Backup your apps+data using Titanium Backup.
2. Go to http://get.cm/?device=p3
3. Download 'recovery.tar.md5' to your PC if you don't have it yet. It's Clockworkmod 6.0.1.0 (latest version). If it's not available on the above location, it's also attached to this post.
4. Download 'cm-10.1.......zip' and put it in internal storage.
5. Download the latest 'gapps-jb-*-signed.zip' from http://goo.im/gapps and put it in internal storage. gapps-minimal-jb-20121212-signed.zip has been confirmed to work fine.
6. a. Flash recovery.tar.md5 on your device using ODIN3 (go into downloading mode, wait for USB connected on screen, then select the file using PDA and click Start)
6. b. You can also use fastboot (for some reason I prefer this method). Just extract the recovery.img from 'recovery.tar.md5' and then flash it using fastboot ("fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" (permanent on device) and/or "fastboot boot recovery.img" (just boot it from pc))
7. Once in recovery: clean cache & clean dalvik cache. (I did a full wipe to be sure I don't report bugs to pershoot which are linked to data problems).
8. Flash the ROM.
9. Flash gapps.
10. Reboot
11. Enjoy your ROM :fingers-crossed:
12. Put back all your apps (using batch Titanium Backup) but don't restore system apps.
13. You're done!
If you need to flash the P4 modem:
1. Get ODIN 1.85
2. Get the Samsung drivers "SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1_3_2300_0" (google it)
3. Install the driver for Tab
4. Download the modem image from pershoot's p3 repository
5. Boot into bootloader (press power and hold volume-up and volume-down at the same time, then select Downloading).
6. Start ODIN (you should see the first block become yellow on the screen => means your device is connected)
7. Select PDA and browse to the modem file
8. Flash it
9. You're done. Make sure you got the correct RIL by flashing the latest image.

Well, be carefull because pershoot posted this yesterday:
If you use gapps, do not use 0726 from goo.im. If this is installed, after powering down, journal on /data goes awry and android will not be able to boot thereafter. This condition ocurred when USB was plugged in/ADB debugging on + WiFi on. The only way to boot if this occurred was to format data via the stock recovery (i.e. wipe/data factory). 0717 works fine in this regard.

I used the 'old' recovery (the one for CM9) to flash CM10 and I had no problems.
boot in recovery
clear cache / dalvik cache
factory reset
flash cm10
flash gapps 1707
reboot and enjoy
Google Now is not working but the camera is. Restore apps with titanium is also working. Very nice work.

wich Gapps pack you used? it could be because of the last pack installation, it's not ready yet, and could be the reason of your boot issue. you should install the 20120717 pack, for more stability
Fixed it

Nah i used the exact right files, but for whatever reason was stuck with this boot logo.
HOWEVER:
I was able to resolve the issue myself, just took some fiddling as i didnt have my PC set up for android tinkering after a recent reformat.
once i got the SDK installed, the below is how i fixed it in case anyone else hits this same problem.
1. Boot tablet into Fastboot mode
2. Open Command Prompt (Windows)
3. Run the following commands
a) fastboot -w
b) fastboot reboot
4. voila!! fixed and boots through boot animation in approx 30 seconds.
Not sure why clearing userdata and cache from fastboot resolved it as i cleared cache and davlik cache while in CWM but for whatever reason in worked perfectly.
Thanks

HOW TO FLASH
well described by the developer himself on the main thread , post #3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46038651&postcount=3
-=-=-=-
down below is the user`s experience as following
-=-=-=-
_*HOW TO FLASH MONX's ROM (4.4.2) v5.0.3 BASE 681*_
*FROM 4.2.2 BASE 534 for model C6903*
*_Files needed to update to 4.4.2_*
Grab flashtool from here
http://www.flashtool.net/download.php
Grab the root tool VROOT from here
http://www.mgyun.com/vroot
Grab recovery from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261606
Grab Monx's 681 rom from here
https://mega.co.nz/#!oI4F3a6I!fvDhL38vdJEi4CYdRGQH80ZWxJI3R2ScCbgqMks6SUk
And finally the FTF file from the mega collection here (you can try stripped FTF files but some people have had problems and I have personally tested this method and it's proven to have worked)
The one I used was this one
https://mega.co.nz/#!XgBmHJwT!LWc9mq6mPud756PDKPneHNUkJ7W5bk1llNdtXJS33M4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469191
*_Installation_*
1. First things first, back up your internal memory.
2. Next if you haven't already install flashtool on your computer.
3. Copy the FTF files into the firmwares folder
4. Power off your phone and run flash tool
5. Connect your phone whilst holding volume down to enter flashmode, flashtool will notify you that you're connected in flashmode.
6. Click the lightening bolt in flashtool then click flashmode, then ok
7. Find the 534 FTF in the list and click flash (this will wipe your internal memory so make sure you did that back up)
8. Once it finishes, detach the cable and power on the device
*Note! at this point your IMEI might be missing, don't worry about that for now just continue*
9. Switch on USB debugging and unknown sources on your device
10. Run the Vroot tool that you downloaded earlier and root your device, it's all in chinese but it's straight forward enough.
11. Once you're rooted, you'll need to install your recovery so go ahead and run the bat file installer, your device will show a request, just click authorize and reboot when in recovery.
*_If everything has gone well then you'll have a recovery and you'll be rooted._*
12. Now copy the 681 Rom from Monx's thread to your internal memory and reboot to recovery.
13. Perform a full wipe in recovery Data / Dalvic and Cache
14. Install the rom with a full wipe (not 100% needed but I like to be sure) 2nd option in aroma
15. Go back to recovery once it's finished and power off your device then re enter flash mode (hold vol down while reconnecting it to your computer.
16. Re-open flash tool and flash your desired 681 FTF file via flashtool, I went for the global FTF which can be found here although other people have confirmed that others will work.
https://mega.co.nz/#!XgBmHJwT!LWc9mq6mPud756PDKPneHNUkJ7W5bk1llNdtXJS33M4
17. To flash this deselect all wipe options and exclude only TA and system *_IMPORTANT_*
18. Begin flashing the FTF file.
Once that's completed you should be on 4.4.2 and everything should be working as expected.
This is for people who are just looking to start from fresh, if you're already rooted and are already using Monx or a similar rom then you can skip steps 1 - 11.
If you experience any issues after installing the ROM then start from 1.

thank you @dladz
or two ...
Very welcome m8
Greetings, thank you very much to this ROM because super great, but I have a problem to install the latest version, I get stuck on the logo of sony, follow all the steps and still get the same result when you finish installing the aroma tells me no could complete the installation. any solution?:good:
Try again the steps above, do not reboot the phone after flashing the rom
Power of and use the flashtool to flash the ftf file accordingly

if I did not so it works well but the truth I was eager to use the rom but nose is the problem which I hope in following updates not have the same problem thanks : Crying:
I follow the step:
Flashing Generic FTF Fr
Recovery install Z1_DooMLoRD_AdvStkKernel_FW-681_v02.img
then go into recovery mode and install the rom with the second option
finish installing turn off the mobile
Global flash the FTF as indicated me and I stay bootlop
For some reason my camera wont focus and i cant take pictures? I can open it up fine and switch between modes and.stuff but no pics or vids can be taken...i came from ihackers 3.0 with full wipe data, system, cache, dalvik and then flashed monx and.selected full wipe and installed c6902 modules manually amd then used flashtool for the correct ftf! As Xanthrax has said, follow the steps above, it'll work.
---------- Post added at 08:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:06 AM ----------
Partially the reason why I wrote that tutorial from 534 is because I know it'll work, you can start from step 12 if you are already rooted but to avoid issues you should start from 534 it's long and it's a pain but it will work.
I myself had an issue with the camera focusing and I was coming from 136.
Others and myself have had the bootloader issue, you can't get to recovery either.
For all the above, start with the 534 FTF, start with step one and go right through, everything you need is right there.
Hi,
I'm on iHackers v4 (is also he KitKat version) and on NUTs recovery version 101 and LockedBootloader.
The AROMA is confusing me. What steps are needed to get this ROM on my Z!?
In recovery wipe everything
select in AROMA 2 (Factory reset)
select in AROMA 1 (Flash system...)
And now the question:
Because I have the KitKat kernel, do I need to flash any ftf?
Yes, you need to flash the ftf, after aroma flash don't reboot, switch it off and use flashtool
The only solution if you're on bootloop or no boot is to start from scratch with .534, root /recovery
That's why a backup is recommended either nandroid or TB

Actually because you're on the same base you might get a way with a dirty install.
Relatively risky as there have been issues with people making the simple jump from the same base, but it's more than likely worth the risk, saying that, flashing the FTF won't do any harm.
@xanthrax
Just to clarify my understanding
Im using NUT's stock 4.4 ROM
If i want to use monxDIFIED ROM
All i have to do is start from step 11 in the OP on how to flash it?

Requirements:
1. Have ANG2 or latest 4.4.2 Rom installed
2. Require PC Odin 3.09
3. Kernal for NE2 (Old Rom Kernel for G900F ONLY, use F6 KERNEL FOR G900FD), get G900F kernels from here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/cun1uainm2h07em/KERNEL_G900FXXU1ANE2.tar.md5
4. Your current Rom Kernel prior to flashing the old kernel. Here the kernel for FOR H900F ONLY: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=18027 (kudus to @_alexndr) (if your Kernel is not there and/or you have a different variant like 900I, look below the instructions on how to create flashable kernel)
5. DISABLE REACTIVATION LOCK
6. IF YOUR DEVICE IS ENCRYPTED, DECRYPT IT
7. Towelroot and SuperSU downloaded and installed prior to flashing NE2 kernel
For SM-900I Australian:
Look >>>>here<<<<
Root instructions:
1. Get to download mode, and flash ANE2 kernel or relevant kernel that supports towelroot
2. Once done, reboot and open towelroot and click make it rain. (NOTE: wifi and s health will not work after flashing ANE2 kernel and you will face numerous FCs)
3. After this, reboot again into download mode and flash your current rom kernel. everything will start to work and all FC will be gone.
4. Open SuperSU and update binary and viola!!

Yes, of course it has been well tested by OP, me and my friends
I followed the instructions and everything went well. When i flashed NE2 kernel S Health Service was force closing all the time
When i flashed back to NG2 kernel phone was running again like a champ!

There is a way to keep status official and also keep root. It worked on rom NE2.
Did not try it yet on this Method. Will c and update tonight
I'm not used to these procedures so I didn't really know what I was doing but it worked for me as well:
As above, S Health was FC constantly and it was pretty difficult to get into towelroot or SuperSU in between.
I already had SuperSU installed and I did not uninstall it before starting the procedure (may be I should have?). SuperSU wouldn't start because of no binaries installed so there was no way to install them (or I don't know how to do it). I could uninstall and reinstall SuperSU but it would not restart at all afterwards. I gave up.
During this time, I had also warning messages about unauthorized operations taking place and asking me to reboot to undo these changes. I ignored these messages.
I finally rebooted, flashed ANG2 kernel and rebooted. It seems everything is fine. I have root access and KNOX 0x0. SuperSU also works normally.
WiFi did not work either, as written in the guide. It looks like it removed the connexion settings. I had to re configure WiFi after last reboot.
Thank you very much for this procedure!
I updated my phone through OTA and want to root again using TowelRoot. I have the following ROM; G900FXXU1ANG9, is the ANG2 kernel the same or do I need to find the ANG9 kernel? If not, can I extract the ANG9 kernel without root? Because I can't find a download link for ANG9...

Mate as per your screen, kernel version number is same but date and dpi are different. i dont know what do they stand for but to be on the safe side i wont recommend you as of now to root. you will need to wait until your firmware is out on sammobile so to extract the kernel file from it.

7. put device in download mode (turn off, press POWER + VOLUME DOWN + HOME buttons, connect to PC using USB cable
8. run ODIN 3.09, click AP button, select "boot.img" just created, and flashed it. then deleted "boot.img"

If i`am rooted i always disable the whole OTA procedure, just add .bak to FW Upgrade.apk and its odex file so it will not be active after reboot and you don`t get notifications anymore. Instead i flash the whole updated rom with Mobile Odin Pro and i check wipe data and cache, enable Everroot and the other 2 options and flash it. Make a app/data backup with Helium or Titanium Backup first of your apps and personal files.

I am curious to know how you managed to obtain root? Does it break things since it isn't an official way?

Disregard - I was using odin 9 - went to 10 and it worked! Didnt think that would matter
Thanks guys, this worked for me as well! I was having some random reboots with the SpaceX N920P v0.1 kernel, but when I tried SpaceX N920R4 v0.1 it would hang on the US Cellular boot screen, and SpaceX N920R4 v.02 would boot but not detect the SIM card.
Last night I flashed Freeza's Beastmode Kernel for SM-N920P and so far I haven't had any reboots or stability issues. It seems to have better performance and battery life as well, but it might just be in my head.
I don't know if there are any negative side effects of using SM-N920P kernels on our SM-N920R4 phones so flash it at your own risk, but it's working great for me. I just wanted to share my experience since there doesn't seem to be a good place to find information on our devices yet.

hay guys i just got mine sm-n920r4.. i am having a hard time finding phil recovery for this model. need help please need root asap
Rooted.
everything you need to root this device is at a site but i am new and cant post linkshttp://cdn2.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
Here's the steps I went through, I can tell it's a lot more steps than necessary but this is how I was able to get root + custom recovery on the latest update:
Okay guys, after a lot of hesitation I decided to attempt root and recovery, and was successful without any visual knox warnings.. There's not many clean guides here on this site so I'm posting the steps I went through.. first and foremost, enable usb debugging and OEM unlock.
For root, follow the guide here (note you'll get a sammy notification that your/you're device is rooted, turn that off. You'll also get a few odd reboots directly after odin resets your/you're phone, that's normal):
https://androidmtk.com/root-samsung-galaxy-note-5-sm-n920r4
After root you can use Skipsoft's Android Toolkit to install TWRP. *Make sure you follow the toolkits instructions closely.*

And for Xposed to work on our stock rom we obviously need the custom version that can be found here (ARM64 version):

I recommend everyone put the Flashfire AP zip and Rom Zip on your internal storage as the AP file is so large that it may not be read properly do too limitations of some SD Cards. When you select AP file in Firmware there should be 4 partitions that are selected. If not then you have a bad download or need to have AP file on internal storage
Outstanding work. Thank you for this amazing rom.

This rom will give you a modded nonrooted rom that will pass safetynet checks with working samsung pay. No lag because stock boot.img is used

Thanks jrkruse for this , very much appreciated!
I just noticed your 930t post just now so I am very grateful and about to flash it.
I am currently on the previous ROM that you posted which is for the edge.
I had heavy lag after rooting due to the eng boot.img flashed on odin but after tinkering with L Speed, it's been much faster .
I'm going to do it over again using the 930t files you posted but I have a question if possible you can answer...
When you mention above thar there is no lag because stock boot.img is used... Does that only refer to the rom being flashed and not rooted ? Because of course the eng boot.img I need to flash on odin is necessary to be able to acquire root and this would leave me in the end with lag due to having to flash that eng boot img. ..
im hoping I'm wrong..
is there a way to flash in odin the eng boot, acquire root , and then flash back the stock boot.img and perhaps leaving me rooted and on a stock lag free boot.img ?
I read through the entire edge thread and other places and was hoping a solution but It may not be possible or I'm just missing something obvious? I'd rather not deal with tweaking using lspeed or kernel auditor etc. But if rooting only possible way is to be stuck with the eng boot img i guess I'll take the risk..
Thanks again !:good:

Following The directions will get you a nonrooted custom rom that can be manipulated by adb such as deleting stuff or pushing files to system and will pass safetynet checks. If you want a rooted rom it means you have to have the eng boot.img. If you root the rom and and only flash back stock boot.img you will not have root but as soon as you flash back eng boot.img you will have root again. but doing this breaks safetynet

Thank you for your continued support for us on the S7 flat.
I'm having issue playing video through flash player. For example, I can play youtube video through youtube app fine however if I play it through chrome or samsung browser is does this weird loop at any position in time of the video. Let me know if anyone else is having this issue. I installed rom but didn't install any of the mod of the mods. Wanted as close as stock possible. PS I did tried with mod and didn't like it and reflashed without mods.
Thanks in advance.

It's the dual speaker mod try without that and all will work
@jrkruse,
Thanks. That is indeed the culprit. Reinstall rom without mods and remove system app through adb. Liking it. Thanks for all your efforts.
I am stuck in a bootloop when I install the stock kernel, but with the eng kernel it runs fine. Any ideas?

Thanks

You can root but why not just root a stock Rom if you want no mods

The whole Rom is a customized stock nonrooted Rom. PlayStore and BSFree were my signature roms back in the day.
Playstore= almost all Samsung apps replaced with google apps that are found on the play store
BSFree= Highly debloated Rom with Samsung apps
NoNaMe= Systemui mods from that Rom.
You can choose whatever you want on install
My walkthrough
For amateurs like me, I put together some more detailed instructions. I hope this provides help for some users. Following the below steps I had no issues, it works great, and is very speedy. If there are any issues with my steps PLEASE correct me! I'm doing my best to contribute, not the opposite!
Thanks jrkruse, @umaro, and all others for this! So far I'm loving it!
My Steps:
1) ODIN (PC program) https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591023225177749
a. Setup:
-Make sure you have latest device drivers setup on your PC
-Enable USB Debugging on phone
-Boot phone into Download/Odin Mode: Turn off your device and press and hold Power button + Volume Down + Home. When you see the warning screen press Vol UP. Phone should say "Downloading..."
-Connect USB from PC to phone. ID:COM in Odin should turn Blue with a COM port
b. Unzip TMO_G930_Odin_Firmware.zip & select the (4) files from this zip (BL,AP,CP,CSC) in ODIN. Make sure all (4) get populated & selected
c. Options: Only these should be selected: Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time
d. Select START
e. When you get a green PASS! message in Odin, that means firmware has successfully been installed. Be patient as first boot may take a while
f. Exit ODIN
2) Phone Setup: After phone restarts for 1st time, go through setup as normal. (Ignore different carriers logos and SIM warnings)
3) ODIN: Restart phone back into Download/ODIN mode. Unzip ADB_Root_Flat_Files.zip, select ONLY AP_Nougat_S7_Flat_EngBoot.tar.md5, select START & wait for it to finish & restart phone
4) Gain Root:
a. Once phone comes back up, unzip ADB_Root_Flat_Files\Nougat_S7_Root_2_82_All_Carriers_V2.zip & Run root.bat. This will restart phone
b. After phone restarts, press key to continue install. I used options 2 & 1. Wait for phone to restart again. Should have root now.
5) FLASHFIRE/AROMA (App is now installed on phone via root script)
a. Unzip FlashFire_Flashable_G930T_Firmware.zip & copy unzipped file to your phone. Copy TMO_FLAT_HYBRID_PLAYSTORE_BS_FREE_NoNaMe_QF6_V4.zip to your phone. NOTE: Copy to internal memory NOT SD card.
b. Open FlashFire app on phone.
c. Choose + button, Flash ZIP, select TMO_FLAT_HYBRID_PLAYSTORE_BS_FREE_NoNaMe_QF6_V4.zip, select Mount /system option, touch checkmark button
d. Choose + button, Click add firmware & select AP_FlashFire_Only_G930_QF6_Firmware.tar.md5. Select all partitions, touch checkmark button
e. The flash order should be: Flash firmware package, then Flash ZIP. Everroot disabled. FLASH! Phone will restart into Aroma installer.
f. When phone comes up after script, select WIPE ALL DATA. (First boot will take 10+ minutes too boot)

Curious (and looking to identify different tweak options), would I need to go through ALL the steps again in order to access the Flashfire/Aroma setup to pick different setups, like PlayStore or NoNaMe? Or is there a shortcut I could take?
