On SGM2 i have a firmware stock with oc kernel, the phone worked fine, when suddenly started to vibrate constantly. I can not do anything, just go into recovery mode begins to vibrate and the same when I go into a download mode. Almost as soon as I put the battery begins to vibrate. What could it be?
Did you do something to it before?
No, but for me its a hardware problem
remove the OC kernel , maybe your CPU or something ells is getting crazy cause of the OC or your kernel is to far OC'd
If it still doesn't work then > RMA

So i've been searching for a few hours while trying to flash my cappy with speedmod kernel for 5 hours...
I don't know whats wrong but I can never get passed the galaxy s screen right after the opening at&t world phone screen. I am able to go into recovery mode and go through features but every time I reboot or turn my phone on it never gets passed the galaxy s screen. it seems like the kernel is running fine but then it stops right after the opening at&t screen. what am i doing wrong???? I have been at this for too long.
Can someone please help me with my problem... I can't seem to find anything about this and a lot of people aren't having much problem flashing this kernel. why can't I be one of those people... please! if you can push me into the right direction, that would be great!
btw... it seems like its frozen on this screen but I don't think it really is.
how long does the first boot of a new kernel take? any adjustments in recovery mode that I need to make? I've also tried the older speedmod kernels and and I get the same problem. Am I using odin right, because I followed the speedmod tutorials word for word...
did you feel any vibration during your booting? like one vibration or three vibrations?
I don't think there was any vibrations upon booting. if there was I believe it was only one. I could be wrong though. at this point I don't even want to put a custom kernal on my phone. I've been at this for a long time and it seems like I haven't gotten anywhere.
which rom are you on?
im running stock everything but superuser permission root. stock kernal and what not also. I ended up using odin one-click downloader to flash back to stock. now my phone is back to stock and working.
the thing is that I want to flash speedmod on my phone but now I cant get into download mode or recovery mode. my phone is glitchy now too.
can you provide some suggestion on how to flash right? I would ask in the speedmod thread but Im a new to the threads and it wont let me yet.
I bricked my phone a while back (SGS I9000 2.1) using firmware from samfirmware. It would get to the galaxy S startup screen then reboot (Stuck in that loop). i still had the 3BC at this point.
Being new to flashing using odin i downloaded Odin3 One-Click Downloader (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989) after i applied the fix i realised i do not have this phone. The phone was bricked couldnt get 3BC no conectivity with adb on my pc, the phone was stuck on an AT&T screen and im in the UK.
I built the Jig with the 301K resistor to get into download mode and it worked first time. After doing alot of research on how to flash the I9000 i flashed a random 2.1 firmware and it booted again.
The problem i have is i cannot enter recovery/download mode and when the phone boots it looks like artifacts pop up for a second then it boots to galaxy s screen (green and purple line across the screen, sometimes looks like a tv screen with no channels black and white fuzzy).
Also when the phone is off and i try charging nothing appears on the screen and it dosent turn on with the charger plugged in. Then as soon as i remove the charger it automaticlly turns on. I think this is causing the last issue, when my phone runs out of battery it dies completly and wont turn back on, somtimes if im lucky i can charge it for about 1 Hour, remove the charger and it will automaticlly turn on and quickly plug the charger back in when it boots its got 1% battery. so i dont think my phone charges when off.
I have tyied applying the 3BC fix for the I9000 but no luck it just bricked my phone had to use the Jig again to recover.
If anyone knows how to fix this annoying problem Please help me!!!
I am running Darky's ROM 9.3 Beta 3 with Voodoo 1.3b oc uv kernel 1280MHz
so the jig is working ???
Try to flash an old firmware, something like eclair with all 3 files and pit, then use pit and re-partition in odin and if that works, try to calibrate the battery.. if you have any luck then upgrade to something newer, maybe thru samfirmware.com or officially thru kies.
i hope you get it fixed
ps. have you tried another battery to make sure your current one isnt faulty ??
Thanks will try it now. I think the battery is fine I get an avarage of 24hr usage set CPU min 100 Max 1280.

Hi, i'm on Alfs06 and gingerdx18 ( found it best for battery life)
Problem i have is:
1. Using skype for 3 minutes restarts phone. Found out that when the screen is going off is restarting. What i did: leave it screen on for 30 minutes without covering the phone ( to not use proximity sensor) and i have no problem. Tried 3 times.. Either is proximity, but i think is the screen because:
2. Connected to adhoc, when the screen is going off instantly restarts.
3. If i'm connected on adhoc and the phone rings, if i answer the phone ( the moment i reach to the ear and screen goes off) is restarting.
4. Edit: Transfering bigger file through Bluetooth, screen goes idle and phone is restarting.
Any solution to this?
Thanks in advance, Mite.
I think it would be a good idea to post this question (or link to this thread) at alfs kernel thread.

these two happened to me when i had SEMC kernel and flashed GingerDX 21 with xRecovery.
try flashing gingerdx22 with kernel's CWM 5.2 and post here result.
Thank you for the answer pesky_89, which kernel to flash? Or to re-flash alfs6?
try reflashing alfs06 and gingerdx22 dont forget do do full wipes/factory resets
if the problem still persists, use seus and install semc+2.1eclair and then flash again alfs and gingerdx22

1) Turn off the proximity sensor. When you have this done go through all 4 things that restarts your phone and check does the phone restart.
2) Try changing kernel to nAa's kernel. Go through all 4 things that restarts your phone and check does the phone restart.
3) Flash the latest update of GingerDx. Wipe data/factory reset, then wipe dalvik cache. Go through all 4 things that restarts your phone and check does the phone restart.
Post your answer. I hope i helped you!
Suddently my sgs fails
it just won't boot even charge...
I have flashed since the beginning of android 4.0.(1,3) so i now what i'm doing.
Now my phone won't boot anymore but i can come in cwm and dowload mode.
I tried with odin to flash ten times total but it still don't go further.
Now i say's can't boot E:
PLS help
have you tried installing a stock rom in odin with pit, phone, modem and csc files and tick check boxes repartition and phone bootloader update?
after ten times flashing i've got now foyo and it works but when i scroll twice it shuts down
(edit) after reboot it happen again! now its boots again not
alright 2.3 works but ik keeps whining that my sgs is to hot and indeed its arround 50 degrees. Should that be the problem?
SGS Stays unstable at 65 Degrees and it frequently shuts down it there anything to do about that?
It sounds as though your cpu is constantly working...my phone was getting really hot whilst running an earlier version of cm7 and reflashing the rom solved it for me .Did you install a stock rom as per my post above ie : pit pda modem and csc?
yes i tried 2.3.5 and 2.3.6 im also think my cpu in running ATW have you more solutions?
I'm now going to underclock my cpu
By going thru the Posts it seems to be a problem with the CPU
yes i think
nobody nows something?
I have been using Overcome ROM Jupiter for a while now and tonight stupidly set the CPU using SetCPU to 1.5Ghz. It is now bootlooping as soon as SetCPU loads up.
Is there a way to stop this from happening without doing a full reflash et all? I have searched everywhere and tried the Safe Mode and still loads up.
I have seen somewhere that you can set it to recovery mode and use ADB to wipe the SetCPU config file but I cannot get it to a recovery mode properly (other than into CWM which really doesnt help too much).
Please help!
Thanks.
if you have cwm, you could wipe voltage settings I think..
flash overcome mod stock v5, with the right kernel. you can do it using odin, you only need to be able to reach download mode (should not be a problem).
check out the overcome 4 thread in the dev section!
after you flash overcome, you can get easy in CWM and (if still required) you can reset voltage settings.
stay safe next time...
i have a similar problem after i got root rights on my sgs2 i installed setcpu and changed the setting to 200 to 800 now my phone keeps on rebooting is there a way to fix this without a full wipe? how do i reset the voltage in cwm?
somehow i fixed it dont exactly know how
