White Moto X becoming discolored? - Moto X Q&A

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I purchased a green moto x with a white front, and the plastic surrounding the screen has became discolored. It has almost a yellow tinge to it. Has anyone else had this issue? I've had clean hands when handling it and for the most part it stays on my desk or in my jean pocket. Motorola is going to replace my phone but i'm a little worried to get another white front....

I don't have a white front but it that happened to me, I would not get another one.

Smoker? Lol
Sent from my N5 cell phone telephone....

I'd go with black front. That's what I have I always thought white to be for women so all my phones were always black.
MOTO X SLAPPED

I also have an olive green back and white front. I got it mid December. Mine is still nice and white. People think I have an iPhone which kind of pissess me off, but then I can show them how cool the Moto x is.

I ordered another one, but I got a black front / orange back (orange is brand new as of yesterday along with several other colors). Thanks for the replies guys.

Those with the white Moto X

I have been debating this phone for a while already. To replace my Gnex.
What first drew me was the customization aspect. I wanted to get a Black front & White back (like my old Droid Incredible).
However as with my Inc the white back after a while got dirty quick.
You guys with the White X, have you had any problems with that?
I might just go all black since the b&w combination was my only incentive to wait for a custom one.
Thank you guys.
I've heard numerous reports of the white getting dirty quickly.

White matte rubbery surface getting dirty quickly? NO FRIGGIN WAY!!!
How is this a surprise to anyone? All you have to do is read one review, which will state the back is rubbery/matte
Due to the way they built the phone you can see dirt where the front and back are put together but a case would fix that
Thank you guys, now i'm 95% on getting it now. All black everything! 5% is on the HTC One, but i feel like i would have to really baby the phone compared to the X that i can just throw around (figuratively speaking of course)
You should try a white front. It looks really nice.

The white front never really appealed to me. Specially on the X. The black on screen buttons just didn't work out for me. If they had a Google Now look, if they were white or theme how Keylime is supposed to be an overhaul that looks like Google now and how it's unifying everything. then maybe a white phone... I'm so picky... -___-

Man, if they do that I'll be so sad. The current version of Android + AMOLED + black front = a beautiful thing

Returned my white note 4 for a black one

Hey guys so today i initially got a white note 4, but after owning it for 30 mins i noticed that there was a huge gap that stuck out like a sore thumb. I took it back to the original AT&T store where i got it where they acknowledged there was a gap but couldn't help me because "their whole batch had gaps." Long story short i went to a second store where they opened 3 other units (all white) and they all had gaps in different areas, but not as noticeable as mine. I finally went to a THIRD store where they had a black one and exchanged it.
So my question to you guys with the white Note 4's do you have gaps?
I have a white one with no gaps whatsoever. My wife has the.black one. The only real difference i notice between the white and black is the sliipery feel of the the back on the white vs the black.
The back of the white one feels like such crap. The back of the black one is a little better but it isn't as grippy as the note 3.
It's just 'luck of the draw' I think. I have a black note 4 with no visible gaps
Got Black, no gaps

The "soft touch" coating on the black Note 4 is sprayed on and easy to scratch and mar. That's one of the reasons I got white. It's not expensive to replace a scratched back cover but it's nice not to have to.
I am swapping my white for black

Eye41 do not care about the back cover of either phone, as I will definitely be getting the wireless charging S view case when I get my device

What color on moto maker (if its there) is the color of the midnight blue Nexus 6?

I would suspect that the midnight blue back color of the Nexus 6 isn't on the moto maker for the Moto X 2014 but I am curious if anyone know what the color is or what the closest color would be. I assume the back is some shade of blue but I guess it could be black, does anyone happen to know on here? (I know this is no the N6 forum)
I thought slate at first but slate is very light, the only other color I can think of is navy blue.
Thanks

have to say as someone who went from a pure bamboo/white moto x, to midnight blue nexus 6, and back to a pure white/cw moto x... i can tell you that if there is indeed a midnight blue for the moto x, steer clear. geez, that phone smudged like crazy. the main part of the back got greasy, but particularly around the nexus lettering. it was pretty strange actually. it was like a grease halo effect. no matter how non-greasy you think your hands are and how much you've wiped it on your pants leg, five minutes later (seriously) it'll get smudged again.

I have a Nexus 5 so I know how easily the back can show grease. After I posted this thread I found out that the black back is more of a soft touch material so I think I will be getting that now. I went to an AT&T store to test it out and it also has a better grip to it than the colored backs.

Need Some Help On Color.....

I have a Midnight Blue AT&T Nexus 6, and unfortunately it took a tumble and my mid frame got dented (no screen damage thankfully). So I'm going to replace it and was thinking about using a white/silver midframe and a black back, or just using the blue. My only worry is that where the black back would not be OEM that it wont be that great of quality. Any ideas or opinions on this? Thanks

FWIW: I replaced the "blue" back on my AT&T model because I wasn't satisfied with the ghost of the emblem after scraping it off. The factory "black" back that I purchased on eBay was exactly the same color. So I think the only thing blue is the frame.

There is an actual after-market, non-oem black back being sold on ebay. (But you are correct, there are sellers calling the oem blue backing as black)

White Galaxy Note 5 Question

Hey all, I just got a white Galaxy Note on Tuesday of last week, I LOVE this thing and while I miss having root on my Nexus 6... I am still loving this device on the stock rom. (Packages Disabled) However, I am having one issue with the build and I am hoping this is just how all of the Note 5 devices are... On the back glass, where the glass meets the metal bezel on the sides... There is the slightest sliver where the white ends and you can see a sliver of black before the metal. Anyone else have this? If so, I am going to stop worrying about it. Lol.

On a white AT&T note 5 (n920A) I do NOT have any black.. the white back meets and joins directly with the silver edge trim.

Damnit... It's so small that I want to overlook it because I don't want to return mine and get one of the many other issues. Dead pixels, bad screen colors, etc.
What do you think guys? Should I swap it at T-Mobile? I picked it up in store so I imagine they'd just hand me a new one.
