unable to open file
For some reason when I try to flash in TWRP, it says unable to open file, this happens with both the latest -2.6.3.0 and the newest beta i beleive it is - 2.6.3.4a. Not sure why . I thought maybe it was because of an integrity error, so I redownloaded it, but still doesnt work. Any idea whats going on?
on a side note, thanks for this, once i can get it working, it will be very useful :
EDIT: Okay so for whatever reason, I was able to get working by actually downloading it on my computer then transfering it to my phone. Before I was downloading it directly on my phone. I dont know maybe that was the issue. In any case, got it to work.

Flashed with TWRP 2.6.3.4a with no issues. Worked great.

Does it give any error codes or just fail to open.
I don't see any reason it would fail to open.
Unless it isn't fully downloading.

Yup, thank you! finally someone made a custom hboot for the newest hboot that hides everything! So thank you!

Thanks for the effort the hboot works perfecty.
I think that flashing it through recovery is not very safe, though. Many things may go wrong.
You must add the md5 sum to the download and if possible add a script to automatically check the md5 of the hboot before flashing

Great work Went off without a hitch. THANKS

Not sure if I can add a script to verify md5 in Aroma.
Have not seen it done.
As far as flashing in Aroma I don't see much more risk or any than fastboot.
USB can get out of sync and cause a bad write itself.
If someone wants to post an md5 I will add it to OP to compare.
I never bother with md5 myself.

Woot woot root!

But never got an answer as to whether the code will work on a Sprint One.

Let me see what I can figure out.
Also I asked @scotty1223 if he would jump in here to help with that.

Ah, you're correct.
There used to be an Aroma file posted that did it all.
Well, for me it removed tampered perfectly. Trying to lock or unlock with it removed my recovery.
Still looking for that original thread.

Could your zip still say tampered because it's being flashed through recovery and not through fastboot?
The zip I made does not say tampered after flashing via fastboot.

How to use the RUU leaks we have after OTA

Some say it isn't possible, because of the radio version.
Thats not it at all. HBOOT was updated, and as such, keeps the RUU from working.
However:
Anything is possible with Android.
http://androidforums.com/all-things...16-how-revert-back-earlier-version-hboot.html
This method will allow you to remove the OTA by using RUU leaks we already have. I did it myself last night after messing up my phone trying to flash an old radio through clockwork
Read: Its not a radio issue that would keep you from updating, its an HBOOT version issue.
720p OTA Leak:
CID:VZW__001
ROM:1.36.605.0
You need to use the older OS version if you want to revert to an older RUU, I believe. Not sure the CID matters either. The img file I provided that worked, I used HTC_002.

Sweet, didnt know if it did or not.
I am taking a bit of leap of faith here, but I think it all gets overwritten by the RUU anyway.
Any one else confirm this working?
I can't download the flash image from the link.

Thanks adrynalyne for putting everything together and making the process way easy!!!
When I've reverted to stock I have a PB31IMG that I use. Sorry for a dumb question but... is this what you mean by using an RUU?
Because the link above makes it seem as if it's on the pc not the sdcard. Maybe I'm missing somthing.

[GUIDE] Easiest way to unroot HTC Legend

Hi..
I decided to make an "EASY TO USE" unroot guide for the HTC Legend..
Here goes..
First..
If you want to unroot to software version 1.31
... download this file and put it in the root of your SD-card..
- This version can easily be rooted again..
If you want to unroot to software version 2.03
... download this file and put it in the root of your SD-card..
- This version will need a downgrade in order to root phone again..
When the wanted file is on your SD-card turn OFF your phone..
EDIT: *** NB: Reported in that this might not work if SD-card is partitioned with ext-partition. If not working try to use a fat32-only ***
Turn the phone ON while holding VOLUME DOWN..
The phone will detect the LEGEIMG.zip file on the SD-card and
ask you to upgrade..
Select YES.. And wait...
This should do the trick....
Nice and simple. Good work m8.
Good guide. Straight to the point. Keep up the good work.
Is there any way to. Convert the rom. Zip with the ruu to legeimg. Zip
Sent from my Legend using XDA App
Yep... extract ROM.zip from RUU and rename it to LEGEIMG.zip.
Hello,
I'm not familiar yet with rooting.
When this procedure is done, will I have a working Legend device ?
Which rom will it be running ?
How could I "upload" CyanogenMod to this rooted legend ?
I've search the web, but I do not get everything yet...
Thank you for your hep !
Yannick
Thanks for the guide, but it doesn't work for me.
"No image or wrong name!" message appears.
I've tried your first link and my own rom.zip renamed to LEGEIMG.zip .

Can someone help me with this? I keep getting an error. I can't flash the LEGEIMG.zip by reboot & vol dn+power nor by clockwork. Tried downloading the file twice, tried my extracted rom.zip and it just doesn't work.
What else can I do?
Can you post md5 of this zip?
What I did was put the file in the root of the SD Card...
Switch off the Legend and switch it on while having the Volume down button pressed. It flashes automatically.

One of two problems..
1) You did not put the download in the ROOT of your sd- card or
2) you have renamed the file..
One of these things are causing the error..
Sent from my Legend using XDA App
I'm 100% sure I haven't renamed the file and it's in the root (astro file manager shows it in /mnt/sdcard). If ROOT means sdcard top folder then there it is.
edit: clockwork says "Can't open /sdcard/LEGEIMG.zip (bad)". Hence the request for md5 - but I doubt triple download would cause some inconsistency in file.
I got CID incorect error, what does it mean?

easiest way is to get ROM Manger from market and flash CWM that way.
I would stay away from CWM 3.0 since it's known to cause problems.

I think you are just copying the command verbatim.
When it says /path/to/recovery.img it literally means wherever you have saved that file on your computer. In windows, it could very much look like
Code:
fastboot flash recovery "c:\user\john doe\Downloads\clockworkmod\recovery.img"
Keep in mind, if you are using windows, if the location has any spaces in it, it requires quotes around the whole thing.

Just make sure you get the HTC One recovery and not the N4.. based on your lack of knowledge, based on your multiple questions, I would hold off a bit though.. as far as I know there isn't a confirmation as to if the recovery from the normal One is compatible with the GE One. You don't need to wipe for a recovery. When you get the device and its good to go, go into fastboot and type
"fastboot oem unlock"
Then after you unlock it reboot into the stock recovery and do a factory reset.. then hold off for recovery. Once your unlocked you no longer are required to wipe for anything

UPDATE: @GermainZ
Installed the busy box binaries from your link, and tried to update/install the framework, rebooted. no luck.
Im confused about this line on "Use installation via recovery" from the original thread of xpose.
If app_process jumped back to an older version (or none at all), you probably have a ROM with S-On or similar, which reverts any changes to /system after a reboot. Use installation via recovery in such cases.

Well, Tungstwenty has implemented something in 2.6 that checks whether the app_process file has been reset to an older or unpatched version. If that's the case, there will be a warning in the installer tab, recommending to try installation via recovery... We thought that this kind of "information push" would reduce the number of questions about S-On...

Thank you. The solution I found was by installing "Busy Box on Rails" on playstore and yeah, by using the second option on the Xposed Installer, which is to flash zip via recovery. It did worked! :good::good:
