Hello,
Please advise us as several HTC Desire 816 users wanted to use Xposed framework.
We can get root (not sure if full access) but we cannot install busybox that prevents us from using this awesome mod.
Can anyone clarify why? or any resolution? Thanks in advance. :highfive:

Thank you, I have checked this, though im not sure if this will solve the problem. Gonna try it as well, install as normal APK?
My device is currently S-ON, cannot find how of though, or not sure if that's need in order to use the mod.
thank you buddy, if this will work, im sure many of my fellow users will use this :good:

Thanks, Im new to this xposed module though, glad you spent time helping me. Hopefully it will work. backing up now.
UPDATE: @GermainZ
Installed the busy box binaries from your link, and tried to update/install the framework, rebooted. no luck.
Im confused about this line on "Use installation via recovery" from the original thread of xpose.
If app_process jumped back to an older version (or none at all), you probably have a ROM with S-On or similar, which reverts any changes to /system after a reboot. Use installation via recovery in such cases.

@GermainZ, I got it working with S-ON, but not by the above instructions though. Thanks!

Well, Tungstwenty has implemented something in 2.6 that checks whether the app_process file has been reset to an older or unpatched version. If that's the case, there will be a warning in the installer tab, recommending to try installation via recovery... We thought that this kind of "information push" would reduce the number of questions about S-On...

Thank you. The solution I found was by installing "Busy Box on Rails" on playstore and yeah, by using the second option on the Xposed Installer, which is to flash zip via recovery. It did worked! :good::good:

Hi all, I done a search but seems the answers aren't making sense to me.
I have an O2 HTC One.
Basically I unlocked my bootloader successfully and then I installed TWRP 2.6.3.0 and booted into this and installed Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed.zip. Phone rebooted and no issues.. I downloaded Root Checker and it says I am not rooted at all and gives me no notification to allow SuperUser access. Any idea whats wrong ? Everything is stock and I know people are going to say why root on stock rom, its just a beginnner thing for me! I need to get my head around simple things like this.
Thanks

What I would like to learn is why Superuser didnt work when flashed by TWRP
These quirks happens. Can be a conflict somewhere. Atleast we have several rooting tools when things happens.

unable to open file
For some reason when I try to flash in TWRP, it says unable to open file, this happens with both the latest -2.6.3.0 and the newest beta i beleive it is - 2.6.3.4a. Not sure why . I thought maybe it was because of an integrity error, so I redownloaded it, but still doesnt work. Any idea whats going on?
on a side note, thanks for this, once i can get it working, it will be very useful :
EDIT: Okay so for whatever reason, I was able to get working by actually downloading it on my computer then transfering it to my phone. Before I was downloading it directly on my phone. I dont know maybe that was the issue. In any case, got it to work.
Flashed with TWRP 2.6.3.4a with no issues. Worked great.

Does it give any error codes or just fail to open.
I don't see any reason it would fail to open.
Unless it isn't fully downloading.

Yup, thank you! finally someone made a custom hboot for the newest hboot that hides everything! So thank you!
Thanks for the effort the hboot works perfecty.
I think that flashing it through recovery is not very safe, though. Many things may go wrong.
You must add the md5 sum to the download and if possible add a script to automatically check the md5 of the hboot before flashing
Great work Went off without a hitch. THANKS

Not sure if I can add a script to verify md5 in Aroma.
Have not seen it done.
As far as flashing in Aroma I don't see much more risk or any than fastboot.
USB can get out of sync and cause a bad write itself.
If someone wants to post an md5 I will add it to OP to compare.
I never bother with md5 myself.

Could your zip still say tampered because it's being flashed through recovery and not through fastboot?
The zip I made does not say tampered after flashing via fastboot.

Many times developers don't specifically state that you must wipe data, but the fact that not doing so generally gives rise to so many errors, that I'm surprised people still "dirty flash" and complain about errors.
On the other hand, if clearing data for the play store/google framework/etc. didn't work as @matt4321 suggested, and you are still can't access the play store after flashing an FTF (and having wiped /data, obviously), then it's most likely a problem with the GAPPS that come with your FTF/ROM that you flashed (unlikely), or a problem with your internet connection.
If you have any .apk file you wish to install, and you have ADB installed on your computer, just enable USB debugging in developer settings, connect USB cable, connect to your phone through ADB (adb -d shell) and type:
Code:
cd /storage/sdcard0 (or sdcard1, or wherever your .apk file is located)
pm install name-of-your-apk.apk
Something which can also be done with a terminal emulator, which I doubt you have since you don't have access to the Play Store.
Unbelievable
i did all those things, lost all the data, everything i did with that phone so far and now i solved it by simply setting time manually and forgetting and reconnecting to my wifi, i want to sincerely thank you all for you help, namely matt4321, for keeping my hopes up, i'll try towelroot again
i mean, would you believe it? something as simple as reconnecting my own wifi
Today I have had my first ever boot loop where the phone will not get past the animation screen. The last thing I did was install an xposed module called "Nottach Xposed". Not sure where to go from here. Never had this sort of problem before. Any help would be appreciated. I'm unlocked, rooted, running stock 4.4.2. I am able to get into custom recovery (twrp) if that'll help me. I don't want to attempt to find and delete where the file installed through TWRP till I can get some info from somebody here who is vastly more intelligent than I with our devices.

Advanced, File Manager, then navigate to where you think the file is, click on it and then you will have the option to delete it. Idk if there will be any permissions problems or not.

Thanks to Mikeyinid and TheJesus for providing the stock img files and flashable recovery zip. I used them more than once on my own device, and got frustrated at having to re-root it every time. To speed things up I decided to create a pre-rooted zip with busybox installed.
Feel free to use it as you see fit. If you format /system before you install this TWRP will warn you that there is no OS installed, but it's wrong, it will boot.

This is for the h901 which is the Tmo variant just fyi. So yeah you are good.
WiFi calling works fine. The only thing that breaks it sort off is installing xposed and that only breaks it if you don't have LTE at all. If at home you can use WiFi but it has to see LTE signal as well. If you are In. area with no LTE or if airlane mode on with just WiFi on it wont work.
