Thanks, I've been trying to dig on this one, me and my wife gave the same phones mines rooted and gets is bone stock, we've both gotthis issue, how's battery with that app....
From what I've been reading this is a common HTC issue it seems....but doesn't effect all....I dunno what to do any more
I use the stock alarm 5 days a week and have never had a time it didn't go off. Granted, sometimes I wake up before it has the chance to go off.

battery life doesn't appear to be any different using the alarm clock xtreme. I'm not sure if it's a common issue because I tested the stock alarm clock and it works fine for me as well. I set it to go off 2 mins after my main alarm clock to test.
What I like about xtreme is it has a large snooze button, so I don't mistakenly hit the dismiss button lol and you can set it to snooze if you shake the phone.
Strongly recommend Alarm Klock
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.angrydoughnuts.android.alarmclock
It has repeating alarms and can turn the volume up when the alarm goes off (just in case you silenced your phone).
And it is free (without ads too)!

You have to make sure to select the days(s) you want it to repeat. The original default alarm presets only have M-F selected and ignore the weekends.
Another thing I see people forgetting is to remember to select AM or PM correctly.

Hi, this morning the WM alarm clock of my tytn ii failed to raise at the correct time, but finally the alarm did go off about 58 minutes later (the device was left untouched in sleep mode until that). The notification still showed the correct alarm time in the message, and the acutal time (wrong) time in header and top bar.
Never heard of this problem before, any suggestions??? Please help me to identify the problem with this "ready for business"-device (lol).
I think i remember reading something similar to this on another thread. where the problem was something to do with time sync (by activesync or network). Perhaps somebody who has had this problem can help?
Try disabling the HTC Home plugin and the Task Manager. That seems to help fix it.
I do not know if this is connected or not, but -
I have a (perhaps) similar problem with the alarm.
My alarm is set to 07:30 every morning.
A while ago, I travelled to france and adjusted the time zone by one hour. I have since returned home, but since, the alarm rings at 06:30 every morning.
The setting is still 07:30.
There is no alarm set for 06:30.
The system **** shows the correct time and the time zone is also correct.
Is it possible that 'old' and incorrect entries are stored in the registry, and trigger the alarm wrongly?

Try to use some another program like SPB Time or another.

exact same problem here (i did visit germany not france though )
does anyone have a solution without disabling things like the home plugin?
(it's not the auto change timezone/clock from sim setting as i have that before this prob occured and its still off...)
Try cleanining the notification Que using sktools or some similar program, this alarm problem is a well known bug in WM devices and has been for a long time
You may want to check your time zone is correct. Also check that the time IS NOT being updated from the network, if your cell provider has an incorrect time zone this could cause the problem.
I have been having the same problem. I can set an alarm for 8:00AM, but it will ALWAYS go off at 7:00AM. If I set it for 8:01AM, it will go off at the right time. I have no idea why it's happening and can't seem to find a solution...
Alarm Problem
I have the same problem. My alarm goes off at 5:20 a.m. every morning. I updated the TILT rom with the new updated AT&T rom. I set the alarm once for 5:20 am. After that it has gone off at that time every morning regardless of what I do to the alarm clock settings . Anyone know how to fix this problem????

I agrree - clean Notification Que....., BUT cleaning every week, monts ... so boring.....
stop using buged WM clock to alarm - well, how I said, use some another clock program like SPB Time or similar.
I've always had alarm clock issues with every wm device I've ever used. Either going off at the wrong time or not at all. I downloaded 3rd party gentimer and just transfer it to each new device as I get them. I know I shouldn't have to do this and MS should have a better more reliable alarm system, but for a one time charge of 12 bucks I have peace of mind and no. more dickin' with the damn oem alarm. It's worth it IMHO.

What has worked for me in the past is to delete all existing timers, do a soft reset, then re-create them. In your case, I'd be tempted to change the timer, then delete it, then reset and re-enable.

What do you mean delete the existing timers? Where do I delete them?
I use my old Nokia N70 just because it's so pathetic that HTC or MS (don't know whose fault it is) can't fix a proper alarm.

Perhaps I confused you by calling the alarms 'timers'. Here's how to delete them:
Start, Settings, Clock & Alarms, Alarms tab.
To delete a previously set alarm, uncheck the checkbox, and de-select days of the week. Click Ok. Do a soft reset.
In my experiance, this will remove duplicate alarms as well.
I've tried that with the exception of removing all of the checked days of the week. I will try that and see what happens. Thanks.
My old phone (Windows Mobile) had an alarm clock that was junk and sometimes would not ring at all (found out the hard way). Is the alarm clock in the nexus one reliable or did it ever fail to ring for you?

This is not WM It's Android and the Alarm clock is very on target!
Thanks guys, I guess I won't have to carry a dedicated alarm clock when I travel anymore.
I'm not sure if it's still a problem, but if you have an alarm set up and your phone reboots and/or turns off, your alarm will no longer be set.
I use it every morning for work and it has worked every time. My winmo alarm failed quite a few times so I always had an alarm clock as Backup. I no longer use the alarm clock and just stick with the n1 by my bedside. And if you leave the clock app opened and long press the screen brightness icon it puts the app in night mode with a black screen and green time info. The only downside to that is that it keeps your button touch buttons lit up white.

You're using the stock alarm?
My alarm survives reboots as well. Stock Clock App. Perhaps you Clock app is not booting on startup or is being auto-killed if you're using a task killer app?
Unlike most Nokias, the phone won't turn back on to wake you up... All Nokias, dumb or smart, do that IIRC.

Yes the lack of this feature sucks but I personally never have my phone off overnight. Im sure this isn't uncommon, but for me its because its my only phone. In emergencies I need to be available. Maybe other people turn their phones off to charge overnight, but I doubt that its common.
I doubt it will work.

So I have been using my phones as an alarm clock for many many years now. I do it the same way every night. I go into the alarms and change the time and press save. BUT with my 2.2 update, instead of saving for the next day, it saves the alarm as that time but a week away. Its like the day counter doesn't move. I almost missed class this morning because I forgot to move the day I needed the alarm for so I woke up to no alarm 10 minutes before class and seeing my alarm set for next Tuesday.
Anyway...am I missing something?? Or is this a but that others have noticed. It is hard to remember to set the day when I have never had to do this before.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Same with me, seems the clock got messed up with 2.2. The day doesn't change when I choose the alarm. Also, it's happened before where I have the right day (it says alarm will go off in 8hrs etc.) but when I wake up the alarm is still set, but now for 7 days from now... It is very annoying, and I can't rely on it now.
So when you created the alarm, did you set the alarm repeat to be daily? Just a thought otherwise the default is a one-time event and when you resave it will bump a week.
i dont want it as a daily alarm...if i go in and set the alarm time, and press save, it should update the day also. It has been that way for years of setting alarms on many different phones, and now that i updated to 2.2 it doesn't update the day. Why would i want to set an alarm for a week away? haha
You don't make it active on the days you don't want it. A one-time event sees that the time is past and makes it a week later. Don't ask me, complain to the coder. lol

a one time alarm on 2.1 worked perfect and exactly as expected. I shouldn't have to make a new one-time alarm OR change the day OR set it as a daily. I wake up at different times almost everyday. No offense, but i don't need instructions on how to set up my alarm!
i know how it works and how it should work, i'm asking if anyone else is having the problem.
I dont have this problem.
I do have a related problem. Its called a job. And I use my phone as my alarm to wake up every weekday morning at the same time. my alarm works great. Since I do not use it for a one-time alarm, it must have something to do with that.

cool man
Here's a description of the change:
On 2.1, clicking on a past "one time alarm" would change the day automatically to the following day, so the alarm worked for the morning you activated it on.
On 2.2, clicking on a past "one time alarm" won't change the day automatically to the following day, so the alarms' day must be set manually for the next morning.
Anyways, does someone have the 2.1 clock apk that they can upload here that we could try, and see if that's the problem?
This does not seem to be an across the board issue. Im one that does not have the issue.

Figured as much, system apps have to be different. Worth a try!
Does anyone have this problem?
When the alarm sounds in the morning it just rings por 1 or 2 seconds and stops. I mean, the sound cuts itself without touching the phone. Then I can snooze or unlock the phone but the alarm doesn't ring.
Stock rooted ROM (tried with 3 stock rooted roms and happens the same)
Hi, I have the same problem and no solution... I'm on Faria V5.1 ROM!
I think that's a problem in XXAMA1. Had that same issue before but not now when im on XXAMA2.
ok, you'r right I'm on XXAMA1...
Havn't seen faria around for a while though..no updates
It happened in AMA1 and put AMA2-3 and it still happens
still happens on AMB2. Kinda frustrated, i woke up half an hour late today, I can't be any later or I'll miss my classes :/
That'd explain why I missed university 3x this week

I've noticed the same problem.
Tell me this: does your phone lie face up or down when you put it on your night table ?
So far, I've only noticed the cut-off alarm when the phone is face down. Maybe it's related to the feature the phone has for silencing (if phone rings, put it face down and it will go silent).
Just happened to me on stock non rooted official 4.1.2...It was face up if anyone's wonderin' :/

It might however be indirectly because of that feature - for example, some bad sensor reading.
Since my last post my alarm has always rang, but I gave each of my (4) alarms a different name, and I happened to wake up a bit earlier than the alarm, wake the phone shortly to check the time, then go back to sleep.
Happened again to me on Benz v3. Really don't know what is the problem.

Happened to me again just now. However I now know what's happening - the alarm seems to snooze itself. If you have snooze activated for the alarm it will ring again when the snooze timer ends (happened while I was typing this).

so, a workaround would be to set the least snooze to be closer to the alarm time?
This is my first post/question.... ever here, so go easy on me. I've been searching the interwebs and can't seem to find anything similar to my problem.
As background (may not mean anything), a few days's ago I downloaded the new Bitspin Timely alarm clock after news of Google's purchase. At some point I made it the default clock when Google Now asked for the program to use when setting an alarm. I swear the alarm worked once or twice before all of this, but can't remember now.
Whatever happened, my morning alarm doesn't go off on time. Its always about 25 min late (sometime after I've woken the phone from daydream). I even tried switching back to the regular alarm clock, and it wont go off in the morning on time. Uninstalled Timely, still no dice.
The kicker is that when I test it during the day, everything works perfect. It's like the phone goes in to such a deep sleep (that's a thing, right?) overnight that it just doesn't catch the time in the morning. Thankfully I have a decent internal clock and have had the privilege of just watching the time pass the alarm time and nothing happen. My other thought was that maybe its related to Moto Assist. I set the do not disturb, but its set to end well before my alarm goes off. I've cleared its data and disabled that for tonight to see what happens.
I REALLY don't want to factory reset. And I can't root to use some of the detailed monitoring apps because my company makes us use that stupid Good for Enterprise.
Anyhow, if anyone has any thoughts, I'd appreciate it.
Haven't tried out my alarm clock yet but will set it up for tonight and see what happens. Hope that it works or I'll have to buy an alarm clock for my dorm room.
Sent from my SCH-I925 using Tapatalk
I'm just throwing this out there. Under Settings > Date and Time> is Automatic time chosen? Is the correct time zone chosen? Is it off by 25 minutes to your time vs you set it at 0600 and it goes off 0625?.
When in doubt try clearing the App Data and try again. I'd suggest testing the alarm before going to bed of course I use Timley too and have no real issues with it yef

I thought I had this fixed... worked perfect the night after I cleared cashe/data from the clock, timely, and moto assist. I even disabled the quiet time on the moto assist app. Worked great through Tuesday, but then yesterday it was 4 min late, then 35 min today. Its also a bit strange that when I look at the Timely widget, it was a little under a min behind the system time. I'm sort of at a loss at this point. Would this be software, or possibly hardware?

just curious what's wrong with the built-in alarm clock? i've been using it since it's been bundled with android and it works great.
I love the stock alarm clock as well. I should have been more clear with the issue. I tested both the stock and Timely alarms and both seem to suffer the same issue. So I don't think my problem is with the app itself, but rather however the alarms work.

I've been using Alarm Clock Plus (paid) and haven't had any problems with it setting off alarms at the set time.
I've been using Timely and the stock alarm with no issues on a nightly basis. It seems odd that yours isn't going off on time. Timely and the stock clock are always in sync on my Moto X. It sounds to me that you have no other choice but to try a factory reset. There is a glitch in the system somewhere.
Resurrected
I hate to resurrect an old, dead thread, but consider this one resurrected. I just had this exact same problem occur with my Samsung Note 2. The alarm went off late, (both stock alarm clock and Timely), and it's incrementally getting worse. I'm running an unofficial version of Lollipop, but the alarms worked perfectly up until this weekend.
Anyone have a solution, yet?

I was having this problem. Thought it was Amplify or Greenify. Tried everything. Then..... I discovered that somehow DayDreams was turned on. I turned it off and it immediately solved the issue for me.
Unfortunate
That is truly unfortunate to hear, as I use Timely and my clock with the Daydream function of Android every day. I dock my phone, and Daydream immediately kicks in the Timely clock as my sleeping screen saver. I will test this out to see if it's the problem.
