[Q] Uber confused between dual sim variants, plz help to choose? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Good Folks here at XDA,
I have been looking at dual sim variants of HTC ONE, and I am super confused about which one should I go for?
Here's the thing I want the 3G on 2100 band and normal GSM functionality anywhere around the world.
I mean, I don't know if the Chinese Dual sim variants work outside of China.
And I have to travel for months to Latin America and south east asia, can anyone help me guide to the right variant of Dual Sim that might suite my needs among HTC 802w, HTC 802d, HTC 802t, and the Japanese HTC J ONE (HTL22).
Also, is any of this going to be updated to 4.4 kitkat?
Thanks.

In India, the 802d is the local variant. It should definitely working in other South Asian and Latin American nations. The 802d in India has got the official Kitkat already. Sorry, I don't have as much info about the others. But IMO, 802d is ur best bet

I'm not talking about WiFi.
Look at the sticker on the box, near the IMEI code.

AW: [Q] 801e or 801n
Have a 801n too. (silver, o2 germany)
I think the difference is LTE.
n=LTE
e=no LTE
Can someone confirm this?

From the website http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=4209&c=htc_one_801e_32gb_htc_m7 and http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=4248&c=htc_one_801n_32gb_htc_m7
It seems the 801e doesn't have LTE support and only 3G.
801n has both 3G and LTE support.
Hope it helps.
If the above info on pdadb are correct. That only means there's 3 types of HTC One.
1. LTE version
2. HSPA+ version
3. CDMA version
So does that mean the LTE version is a world phone?
And this here list is compatible in just the 801n model?
LTE:
EU: 800/1800/2600 MHz
US (AT&T): 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz
US (TMO): 700/AWS MHz
US (Sprint): 1900 MHz
Asia: 1800/2600 Mhz
I have the 801n, in the USA on ATT - HSDPA works, but no LTE. So i am guessing the PDADB info is wrong. I am guessing this is the European model and does not have US LTE bands.

Indeed. US hasn't released the HTC One yet. But just keep it first. When the US version is available already just flash a US version RUU and it should then support US LTE.

Unless the EMEA LTE and ATT LTE versions have the same SKU with only a software block of radio bands, that isn't happening.
RUU flashes do not magically add radio bands that aren't supported by the phone. All they might be able to do is unblock the radio bands that are hidden.
Mine is a 801N also - 32gig silver model - Ireland.
Even though LTE isnt released in ireland yet looks like my phone is able for it
801e, is the Taiwan version also knows as M7_U
801n is the European version which is the M7_UL.
Both version support LTE just different bands.
Is there a way to check to model number on the phone itself?

As far as I am concerened you shouldn't post your IMEI number online as people can do stuff with it. Just a heads up.

I got my M7 from O2 store . Is the 801n version but no option for LTE. In the bands have only 3 options : GSM/WCDM,GSM, WCDMA. No option for LTE. Also my CID is 02_001. Could be that bloody O2 modified the ROM and disabled LTE?!
Weird phone
Ok, on my phone I have sticker saying PN071000 and 801n. . In recovery says M7_UL (LTE version).
However, went onto HTC's check site and got this :
Depending on your query to provide the IMEI number information is:
Model: HTC One (801e)
Release date: 2013/06/24
Thank you for your continued support for HTC, in order to improve the quality of our services,
Soo... confused as hell!!! This somehow explains why I don't have LTE option in Settings under Network mode...
How can this be real? Recovery & stickers are saying opposite as HTC site... Could somehow the phone be messed (very unlikely as have it always with me)???
UPDATE: Just SIM unlocked my M7 and the LTE option appeard. So it's O2's "management" which disabled LTE. But still unsure about various results , what model I realy have (see above)...
Hi everyone,
I'm also terribly confused about this and i'm glad i found a thread concerning this issue. I do not have my HTC One box anymore. How would i go about to verify if it's 801n or 801e and if LTE is available, etc, etc. Please guide this newbie. I just bought my phone a couple of days ago and i want to confirm what hardware i bought exactly. I initially thought all hardware was same for HTC One. :silly:
I have just been in contact with HTC via live chat and the 801n is 4g ready that was what I was told....

I Need Some Information About HTC One Dual SIM

Hello XDA-Developers Members,
I Want To Ask Some Question About HTC One Dual SIM:
1.What Is The Main Differences Between HTC One M7 802W & 802D.
2.I Knew That The Indian Version Will Be 802D And Will Contain Google Services, Will It Be Unlocked For Any 3G Service Provider In Other Countries (For My Country For Example "Egypt").
3.Is The Size Of HTC One Dual SIM Dimensions Are Really 137.8 x 69.3 x 10.4 mm "Bit Has Thicker And Wider Dimensions Than HTC One".
I Do Not Need Any Development Work On The Device I Want To Buy As I Have My Samsung Galaxy Note II For My Development Work, I Only Need A Full Functional Phone With All The Services Like The HTC One But With The Card Slot And Dual SIM.
Thanks In Advance And Waiting For Your Replies.
Yes the dimensions which You mentioned are correct and it is unlocked and works with any gsm card in the world. Advantage is you can Insert either GSM or CDMA card with 3G or Evdo rev B Data options and the second SIM slot is only GSM and works on only GPRS.

Thanks For Your Reply But I Still Need To Know The Differences Between 802W And 802D If Anyone Can Help I Will Be Grateful.
802W is meant for China market with no Google Market N G apps. And the network works with TD-SCDMA. Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA)

In India 802D dual sim is released. But I want to use 802W. I wonder will there be any problem ? Any comment?
This is a review I read in flipcart (Indian online retailer):
"So please be careful before ordering which model number you order as per my research on chinese web site and XDA forum:
- HTC One 802d is CDMA variant i.e one sim slot for 2g and other slot for CDMA i.e will second sim will work only with operators like MTS, Reliance CDMA and TATA CDMA
- HTC One 802w is 3G/WCDMA variant i.e one sim for 2g and other for 3G/WCDMA i.e both sim will accept more popular providers like Airtel, Voda, Idea, Docomo, Reliance GSM etc. so it can work in 2G+2G or 2G + 3G/WCDMA"

So to sum up everything here.
802w - [Slot 1 gsm (2g) / wcdma (3g)] + [Slot 2 gsm (2g)]
802d - [Slot 1 cdma] / [Slot 2 gsm (2g)]
So in countries with no CDMA (which is almost most of the world) a 802d will be like a phone with 2 sims both can NOT connect to 3g (nor 4g since there is no HTC one m7 dual have 4g) so u are stuck with E - EDGE & G - GPRS
With no H - HSDPA or H+ - HSDPA Plus WHICH MEANS u can not accept the internet from ur phone on SPEED FASTER THAN 384 kb ( 0.375 MB Speed)

[Q] International Version ???

Hi there
I want to buy the HTC ONE "again", but the problem is that I'm not sure which one.
After some research, I've found that there are several different versions of the HTC ONE:
HTC 801n ONE, ONE HTC 801e, 801a ONE HTC, HTC ONE 801W ...
Well why "again"?
Thing is that I had one until recently, the 801n, i got through a contract renewal in Switzerland, and I was very very happy with it!
But the trouble started when I went on a trip again. I travel a lot between Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, and the US, and due prolonged
stays in these countries, I have a simcard in each country, as well as prepaid and contract, each with internet access (3G and 4G).
Now in Mexico I noticed that my brand new HTC ONE 801n, was not compatible with the frequencies used here (3G, 850Mhz with Telcel Mexico), which made it useless as a smartphone. Therefore I sold it. But I loved this phone, so I am going to buy me a new HTC One!
Question is, which HTC ONE is the right for me?? Also I read everywhere on the internet about an "international" HTC one, an "international version"??
Is this one of the above versions I mentioned? "International," does it mean that it will work with all the frequencies in all the countries I travel to? With at least 3G Internet can use, perhaps even with 4G? And where do they sell it? And how can I identify it?
Thanks for your help

Not really, because already sold mine europe htc one, and looking for a new international one, which I can use in in europe and in the US, without hacking or flashing it.
And as noob in the smartphone area, i wouldnt be able to do it,even right now i am having problems to understand what they are talking about in the other thread
International version means it isn't locked to any specific carrier yoy basically any sim from any country should work. You should check that the network frequencies that the phone can handle are compatible with the country that you're visiting but a quick check of the phone specs will tell you that.

You just need to look at the table in the first post
First, find out what 3G/4G frequencies are available with what carriers in each country you travel to. Then you can pick a model that will provide the most coverage. Just going off the 850MHz 3G requirement, you have a few variants to choose from.

US and in Mexico , 3G 850 MHz , and one thing i read was that if the 850 MHZ are not supported by the phone, it seems that it doesnt matter that all other frecuencies avaible in the coutry are supported, the phone wont work with 3G, no matter what. is that right.
No beeing right now most of the time in Mexico for the rest of the year, thinking to buy the HTC One in the US HTC online shop, the unlocked version, 600 USD,
and it says
This HTC OneĀ® unlocked version comes with: 32GB of onboard memory and is SIM unlocked.
- HSPA/WCDMA: 850/1900/2100 MHz
- GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
- LTE: 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz (US)
Now, at Telcel Mexico , they told, if I buy a phone in the US, it has to be an ATnT compatible phone, and it will work without a problem in Mexico, same frecuencies as AtnT.
Are those the frecuencies used by AtNT??
If the only 3G frequency your carrier supports is 850Mhz, then it doesn't matter what other frequencies the phone is capable of.
Look at the table in the HTC One variants thread, and compare the frequencies of that phone with what is listed for AT&T. And more importantly, what Telcel Mexico support.
What about 4G and Europe, are they high or low priority? The Asian variant supports 850Mhz 3G and has a good overlap with the European 3G and 4G frequencies, but not the US 4G frequencies. What do you consider more important?

[Q] Not clear about divfferent versions

I am looking to buy HTC ONE Dual Sim. After I searching ebay, I got a bit confused,
There is different models of that device 802W, 802d, 801d.
Some descriptions(801d ) saying most of our phones does NOT support HSPDA 850 and 4G LTE 1700
other (802W) and other (802d) saying that it has 4G LTE Bands Connectivity.
Also they have a different prices i think there is a reason for that,
May be some one can clarify on that that? What are the differences and what version is better?
I found some info on that
802w China version: http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/03/htc-one-802w-china-microsd/
Look like 802t, 802w, 802d Chinese versions as well http://gsminsider.com/forum/index.php?topic=18.0
HTC One 802t supports the TD-SCDMA network, HTC One 802d supports the CDMA2000 network and the HTC One 802w supports the WCDMA network.
Here is some more info on HTC ONE versions http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc-one/276132-htc-one-version-numbers.html
What do you think what version is better?
Looks like I have to look at TD101, 802w or 802d are they all has removable covers?
