Is there anyway to make the camera shoot when I say a command? I have that function on a Galaxy S4 but I can't seem to find it on the Moto X which is weird because the voice stuff is more advanced.
With Tasker and App Factory, you can make a shortcut that will take a picture, and save it. Then just use voice command to run the program you make.
Tasker + AutoVoice = Camera Voice Activation
Just whipped this up using Tasker + AutoVoice. It relies on the stock Moto X camera (tapping screen takes a photo) and requires root. Import into Tasker 'n snap away using the phrase "Cheese!"

Is there any way to use G 2015 gestures (wrist flicking to open camera and chopping twice for flash) on the G 2014?
Camera gesture is no problem with a tasker profile,I use one. For flashlight you need an external flashlight app like Dashlight : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spectrl.DashLight&hl=de which has a tasker plugin in the pro version. That´s because lollipop has no flashlight app even when it has flashlight-
I can send you the tasker profile for quick capture.

Would love to see the tasker profile for the quick capture, thanks!
Edit: downloaded DashLight and paid for the upgrade, but I have no idea of how to make it light up with chopping twice gesture. I'm a newbie with Tasker, actually. Can you help me?

You can see most of it in the screenshots.
make a profile with "Event",choose sensor and take a gesture like shake up/down or left/right. Than add a task, for the quick capure task I used the secure settings plugin and you need busybox installed too.
You can try it without all that and make a task just with "open camera",it might work also but I´m not sure if it works when the phone is locked and/or screen is off.
The more complicated one does.
Here is a tutorial in german: http://tuxanddroid.de/android/mit-tasker-funktionen-des-moto-x-nachbauen-shake-to-camera you should find it in english too.
With dashlight it should be similar, start with a Event/sensor/gesture profile and make a task, name it somehow (flashlight) and look for the section "plugin".There you should find the tasker plugin that came with dashlight. Choose it,maybe you can check on,off or toggle.
That´s it.
Context
IFTTT and Tasker are Android's happiest couple. Let's see how easy it is to take a photo and post it to Facebook using a voice command.
Foreplay:
1.Sign up to IFTTT on its website.
2. Download DO CAMERA from Google's Play Store. Set up the Recipe "Upload photos to a Facebook Album." (Just click on the plus sign, look for the Recipe and add it.)
3. Download AutoVoice and AutoInput from the Play Store.
Let's get it started!
Profile:
State>Plugin>Autovoice>Recognize>Check Event Behaviour>Command Filter: Post a photo to Facebook>Check Exact Command
Task:
A1. Alert>Say> Prepare your photo
A2. Wait 6 secs (Giving you some time to put your device in position)
A3. Apps> Launch DO CAMERA
A4. Wait 10 secs (Prepare your photo)
A5. Plugin> AutoInput>Action>Easy setup>Go to DO CAMERA , click ADD on AutoInput's Notification, go back to the app and press the Send Button. Scroll the same Notification and click on ACCEPT. Go back to AutoInput in Tasker and choose the Send Button on the popup screen. Choose the click action and accept the settings.
A6. Wait 5 secs
A7. Alert>Say> Your photo was sent to Facebook.
And it is done! Have fun with your friends!
I have tried to program Bixby to turn the flashlight on and off using custom voice commands. As a fan of both Arthur C Clarke and Harry Potter, I want to use "Lumos" to turn the flashlight on and "Nox" to turn it off. Nox works perfectly, but Lumos is almost never works. It recognized it as "Limos" most often, so I made another custom voice command (Limos -> turn flashlight on), but that had no effect. Lumos still caused Bixby to try to search for limos most of the time.
Does anybody know why I can not override Limos, or is Bixby not "sufficiently advanced technology"?
Hi all,
Just checking to see if something is possible.
I've created some custom widgets. When I tap on the widget, it performs a list of actions that I generated in Tasker. This works perfectly. What I would like, is audible confirmation from Google Home that the tasks were performed. For example, if I tap on the "Home" widget I would like the following to occur:
1. Alarm disarms
2. Living Room light turns on
3. Dining Room light turns on
4. Camera 1 stop recording
5. Camera 2 stop recording
6. Google Home says "Welcome Home Scott"
So far, actions 1 to 5 work fine...but is there a way to get action 6 to work?
Thanks,
Scott

Please ignore , i missed the google home part ....
One to do it is to create a task with "Say to file," input your custom text and save as a mp3 file(add .mp3), then have AutoCast cast on Google Home.
Hello everyone,
As you know, when the icon in the upper left is pressed, the image is projected onto the rear display. It's annoying to press this icon every time the camera is opened. Can I make it open automatically by changing a value with the Setedit application?
Yes, but after restart it will be off
1 - go to camera settings, set "preserve settings" to ON, Autostart - ON
2 - switch on rear display in camera, then minimize camera app
3- in recent app make sure camera app is locked, so won't be closed by MIUI
After this when open camera, rear display is already ON, check if it works for you and let me know
Thank you but I am looking for a permanent solution.
Up.
Up.
Plase help me guys
Without re-compiling the camera app with modified code, you're out of luck my friend.
As a die-hard Tasker user, you could make a task and add it to the home screen that opens the camera app and then use AutoInput to look for and select the rear screen display button upon launch with said task.
