[Q] Slow Screen Wakeup on Nameless ROM - LG Optimus 4X HD

Hi Guys,
After installing Nameless ROM nightly updates, I experience slow wake up screen problem.
Sometimes it takes good 3-4 seconds after pressing power button to wake the phone up and after it wakes up, suddenly goes to sleep mode. And if I now press power button, it wakes up in 1-2 seconds. Quicker than before, but still not the quickest.
Also, when phone rings most of the time it takes 5-6 seconds for screen to wake up and sometimes by the time you try answering/rejecting call, call has been missed.
I am currently on nameless-4.4.2-20140308-p880-NIGHTLY update.
Has anybody on LG Optimus 4X HD experienced this issue? Going through other forums, I also tried removing SD card and checking if this improves wake up time, but no joy.
Please shed some lights.
Thanks.

Same problems here. Never misses a call because of it though. I believe a way to decrease the time to wake up is to increase the CPU screen off values. This can be done by changing kernels and using trickster and all that, but I'd like to be able to do it from within the ROM. I asked the developer (@Evisceration) if he could add CPU screen off settings to the device control section. He said he liked the idea, so hopefully we'll see the function somewhere in the near future!

Hardly any bugs at all for me. If you encounter bugs on a ROM, it will be greatly appreciated if you report them to our devs so they can try to fix things!
This particular 'bug' (not really a bug though) is just due to a relatively low Max CPU Screen Off Freq and can be easily avoided by using another kernel or upping the freq if the current kernel supports it.

[Q] Screen on Delay?

Hi,
I am having an issue where the screen takes a solid 1-2 seconds to power on after the phone has been sleeping/idling. Sometimes it's not so bad but it's becoming quite annoying, and sometimes I think the screen turns off again before it can show the lockscreen and I have to pull out the battery to fix it!
Cm7.1 stable w/cm7 kernel. Was happening on stock too.
Does anyone know a way around this? Widgetlocker doesn't seem to fix it
Thanks.
i am having a similar issue on Topogigi's v1.9, no issue on his 1.4 version, very annoying!
noticed with Topogigi's ROM since v1.9:
This issue is even worse when a call comes in: The fon will vibrate about 4-5 seconds before the screen turns on to shows the caller. Until then you can not see whos calling.
On Horsepower rc1 kernel and topo 1.9 I can't say I have noticed this issue.
Used fon was already running on v2.0 with RC1 kernel.
Also did a clean flash of the rom again to eliminate possible issues of other apps running. But this has no effect on the problem. It still persists: When a call comes in, the fon vibrates up to 5 seconds before the screen turns on. Even then, you first see the unlock screen and about a second later the screen with the incomming call. Reproducability 10/10 times. Notice that vibration for incomming calls has to be set as "always on" in settings to reproduce problem!
Extremely annyoing because call can not be answered or dismissed while fon keeps ringing! Already missed calls because called hung up before screen unlocked.
Don't know if its a kernel or rom issue...
Advice
The best way for you not to have troubles is to pick a stable rom and flash it!
If you are on Topogigi ROM, This has already been explaine in the FAQ.

Q6.But I'm still experimenting lags with overclock daemon on wakeup: how can I tune it to fit my needs at best?
A6.One of the best features of overclock daemon is that you can tune it as you like. If you don't want to see lags on wakeup, just raise a little the max frequency for sleep profile. If you want to mock SGS2 owners with astonishing Quadrant scores, raise the frequency to the max for wake profile and your phone will turn into a raging bull. It's up to you. Your interest is raising? Let's see how to do it:
Fire up ES file explorer (you will find it in my rom beginning with v. 1.6 release), open settings and check "Use Root Mode" and "Mount Filesystem" (you need to do it only once). Then exit settings and hit the highest icon on the left: you will be in the root directory of your phone. Navigate to /etc/andrev_oc, you will find six files there:
-sleep_gov: indicates which governor to use during sleep mode ("performance" or "powersave")
-wake_gov: governor for awake state ("performance" or "powersave")
-sleep(or wake)_max: max frequency to allow during sleep or wake (see frequencies below)
-sleep(or wake)_min: min frequency to allow during sleep or wake (see frequencies below)
Here there are the frequency values available on current kernel (Neoblaze 28092011):
1408000
1216000
1100000
1015000
800000
503000
389000
216000
Make your changes to the files listed above and save them.
Since overclock daemon is already up and running and it monitors these files at every screen state change, it should be enough to hit the sleep button, wait some seconds, and hit it again to wake your phone. Your new settings will be applied immediately.
You may want to check the actual CPU frequencies by using OS Monitor or SystemPanel App (download the freely from the Market).

Look in my signature. Download the Andrev OC app.
Set asleep maximum frequency to 800 or 1016.
Problem solved.
There is also an app for the Topogig ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18273457#post18273457

Hahaha, same timing
Problem solved here like described. Thank you guys!
p.s.: I really appreciate the work of topogigi and spica for roms and kernel. They run 1000x better than the stock roms so I would never follow an inappropriate advice to fall back on those. Must be the urge to reach the amount of 10 posts for some ppl to get access to the dev area...

Unlock lag problem solved?

Hi ppl !
Prabobly i have solved problem with unlock lag. Fix is simple and you dont have flash anything. Just setup nexus wallpaper for me it worked like a charm.
Sent By Reverse Osmosis
It's not a solution.
Setting up a live wallpaper will make your processor run quicker (so it will drain your battery much quicker), the same way the screen unlocks instantly when music is playing.
so there is no solution fot this "problem" yet???
No, there is no solutions as this cannot be thought as a problem. When the screen shuts down, it takes a few seconds for the phone to fall in a deep sleep. This is a built-in feature which helps to save battery when screen is off.
Friends of me just bought this phone and also had this lag problem. So i rooted their galaxys and changed the governor with set cpu from ondemand to performance. Unlock lag reduced from 4 seconds to 1 second, and also after unlock the phone is instantly fast. I know performance governor leads to more power consumption, but we think a phone with 1,4gHz shouldn't be that slow.
I changed lock screen to golocker and lag is now significantly lower. I also use golauncher so it may have affection to golockers' performance. No issues for double locking or battery drain.
Cheers
The solution is simple, turn off your power save mode
doesn't help here....
And again, it's been established already that turning power save off doesn't help.
Placebo effect at most.

I have a same problem, still no solution ?
While the Galaxy S, there was no problem.

Since i use go-locker, in have noticably less lags.
Tapatalked from my Samsung Galaxy S Plus
Strangely enough, Golocker does speed it up a little, it went from 3 to 2 seconds.
But it still lags.
It lower your processer when your phone is idle make it less battery consuming. Unless you root your phone and use app to stop the deep sleep mode and keep phone speed always at 1.4. Otherwise nothing can do I think. Cause the phone need boot up the speed everytime you unlock making it [email protected]@At least you know it help you save.battery

I changed the lowest clocks from 123mhz to 246mhz. Seems more responsive. Used CPU Master (free).

The standard-setting for the minimum clock is at 244mhz. So this probably wont help anyone.
Also my lag is gone by using Go Launcher and Go Lockscreen!!!
Great (Best i think) Launcher anyway

Is the same for me, with go launcher and locker, the lag is gone
No difference ... ='(
Not going against the waking from deep sleep theory, i also always thought this was how it worked.
What puzzles me, however, is how the iphone doesn't seem to suffer from this for some reason and still performs as fast with perfectly acceptable battery time.
But i got it better by changing my lockscreen, that actually helps. Phone needs to load up the lockscreen when you wake it up so a simpler lockscreen will also help with better results by loading faster. You'll notice the screen starts responding faster. I found the most common one, the sliding tab the fastest while the ring one, to be a bit slower. I also found the go lockscreen to be faster than the "ring" one but not as fast as the basic sliding tab.
Btw im using a I9000 with CM7 stable but the "problem" still applies.
Turning off the power save option did help for me.

Weird Problem

Obviously I have an N7000 and I am noticing a peculiar problem for the past 2 days.
When I use the Power / Home button to wake the phone up, it takes close to 10 seconds to wake up.
When the phone is sleeping and I receive a call, it takes 10 seconds to wake up again.
When the phone is awake and someone calls, and I slide to Answer, the slider gets stuck and the phone is answered after 10 seconds.
I tried various ROMs, did a factory reset as well.
Interesting bit - All these problems vanish when am charging the phone. These problems occur only when am on battery. Could this be a battery issue ? Will replacing the battery help ?
Thanks,
Amit
So have you tried different kernels? Imho, I would flash a rom that is stable. I assume you are 4.0.4. After you fully wipe and install the rom of choice, check if you still have the lag. There are so many reasons that could cause it. Cable you're using, kernel, rom, etc. Do you use setcpu? You can actually set it to change when and how the cpu acts while screen off, on etc etc. In the past if I had a lag like that it was a problem with thte rom itself or an app that was causing the lag. If you need more help just PM me. Please post your results here so we can all follow the symptoms until we find a cure.
Thanks DBY,
I tried AbyssNoteKernel 4.2 and CF-Root. Both are showing the same issues. I am going to try another battery today. If the problem persists, I will let you know.
Thanks,
Amit
Which various ROMs ?
Please post the ROM name, version and the kernel which you are using.
Check your power save settings.
Disable all power saving and see if this resolves your problem.

[Q] Galaxy S Plus - Wake up Issue?

Hey!
My Girlfriend is using an Galaxy S Plus, and recently i tried to flash it with some of the Images posted here... but somehow, every Image has major issues with the lock screen... to me it seems that the device isn't waking up properly.
The screen looks a bit dim, and the touchscreen won't work at all... after 5-6x pushing the power button, the device sometimes wakes up again.
To me it seems that every image here has the same problem... or am i doing something wrong in the flashing process?
Please help!

I have read some people mentioning that it can be related to the CPU governor used - try to use another governor.
PS: I have had the same issue with CM9 builds and smartassv2 governor. Since I'm using CM10 I haven't had that issue anymore.

the same to me. In addition, if rightones are located in external SD then there are lost after swith on/off the phone. Probably it's a bug in slimROM
so question to
@andriod-Andi from which device the rom is ported?
Then we can talk to slimROM comunity.

I hope that helps you: move the ringtones to Ringtone folder in internal SD. The same and with Notification ringtones (to Notification folder).
solution
please, download slimlauncher3.apk from download sections.
works ok, for me
I have two problems, maybe someone can help:
1) PacPerformance won't keep statistics of the CPU frequencies reset, even when I press the button multiple times. After waiting a little (usually around 30 minutes) it adds the recent frequencies to the formerly deleted ones..
2) My phone goes to deep sleep quite rarely (~10%), even in the night, airplane mode on. WLD doesn't detect anything above 10mins wakelock, Battery statistic say phone wasn't active.. is PacPerformance wrong?
Thanks in advance!

Also one more thing:
Double tapping the status bar locks the screen, is there any option to disable it?
Edit: Oh pardon: sakuravtive, sio
Results from Performance Control in the last night and WLD for the last 15 hours:
And the lowbat_wake_lock is the only significant wake lock, in CPU wakelock there is nothing above 30 minutes..
Battery shows no active CPU for the time of charging, so why does it stay up?
Shall I try to freeze the apps one by one looking for the right one or is it more probable that the kernel causes it?
Couldn't add this in the other post:

To freeze the apps one by one is one of the solutions. It could be many things and many conditions that cause the problem (3G always open, GPS always open, WiFi always open, bad install, gapps, some apps etc). I suggest you first to close all the connections and check if the problem persists. If it does reflash the rom and new gapps (avoid full gapps and prefer the pico pa gapps) with full wipe (Dalvik Cache/System/Cache/Data/Internal Storage) and without your apps. Five minutes after make a check with Pac Performance to see if you got the proper deep sleep value. If everything is ok install your apps one by one to see which cause the problem.
Btw try this combination: smartassV2 CPU Governor with deadline I/O Scheduler.
At night I have it in airplane, GPS is perma off, wifi only on when at home..
I let it run for the day now, as seen on the pictures..
Anyway thanks for the help, I think I will start freezing anything I don't use daily..
Hey guys. I'm thinking to flash a kernel. Would you suggest any kernel by android andi or cropol kernel or stock slimkat kernel is good for better battery life?
And if i update my baseband, would it help? And if i back up a nandroid and restore it later, will my baseband turn back to normal? I have xxamg4 baseband atm.
Thank you so much and im sorry for too many questions.

AnyKernel is similar to the built-in Kernel. Cropol and F_Kernel from Fred68... are interesting alternatives because of OverClocking and min frequency. I made very good experience with F_Kernel, specially for battery savings.
Baseband is diffcult. Depends somtimes on your provider and location. After testing several Basebands I'm back on AMG4. With others I had often Problems with Wakelocks which ends in Battery drain.
Thank you . I'll keep my baseband as same and will try f_kernel then. I checked other roms but guess slimkat is the best about battery life. Just having a bit issue when I have my Wifi on. I'll check f_kernel. Thanks again. It helped me a lot.

Not work on SlimKat 1150 MHZ ?
For life of battery i concur, this is obvious
Sorry i can't post in the original thread. So i will post it here. @Fred6681: 1150 MHz and SlimKat is no problem for me. No reboots, no force close[emoji3].

1-Andi said in the original thread that the built in kernel of the rom is better and newer than any kernel, by himself. So, you might just keep it or try others like cropol (for oc)
2- I had ANA2 baseband atm I flashed the rom and experienced some 2g - 3g issues. Then I updated to ANE 2, much better now
3- Other than that, anyone alse having the clock freeze bug? Mine had the minutes ok, but one hour late, i just change the 12-24hs box twice and it was fixed.
4- My AOSP keyboard and google keyboard do not recognize when I longpress the "." button to use the ¡? etc... symbols.
Hi! Loving this ROM. Just a question. Is by any chance a possibility to have Netflix running in it? The only one thing missing to me. Thanks!
