So .. I've the latest firmware for my region which is (14.2.A.1.136) .. And I want to Root my Phone .. but I found nothing on rooting that specific firmware
All I found was rooting the (14.2.A.0.290) Firmware.. and the only thread I found about rooting my own Firmware it needed to "downgrade" to the (14.2.A.0.290) firmware and nothing about upgrading again after rooting .. and I don't want to downgrade my phone
So my question is.. Is it possible to root my firmware(14.2.A.1.136) the same method used in rooting the (14.2.A.0.290) "and I feel the answer to this question is no"
And if I have to downgrade .. is there a difference between the two firmwares ? or is it the same .. and if it's not the same may you please post the change log between them ??:fingers-crossed:
Thanks in advance
You must downgrade to the 290 Firmware, then rooting and install the recovery. Then you can update via Custom Rom back to .136 Firmware

He's right, you need to downgrade to 534, root, then use the thread he linked to update to 136 rooted using [Nut]'s modified ROM. Just a note to add is that in the thread it says you need to be on 290 rooted to upgrade to his 136. However, you can go straight from 534 (rooted) to 136 using the same method. (You get to 290 the same way you get to 136, by downgrading then flashing. You don't have to do it twice, it's fine to skip 290 and go 534 right to 136).

I did the ta backup.
I just want to know if I need to reunlock the device if I wanna install a AOSP-based custom ROM like CM/AOKP.
If you want to try a non-stock based ROM, you must have the bootloader unlocked.
Otherwise your phone won't boot. It's self-explanatory in the ROM's thread

Don't forget to also download the drivers which you can do easily with windows. Go to C:/FlashTool/drivers and click the icon. Otherwise you won't be able to enter flash mode if you haven't put the drivers in the folders too. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45464122&postcount=3

Can you unlock your bootloader? If so, then you could easily root. If you can i suggest you to unlock it.
If not, you must downgrade and get a pre-rooted firmware.

Bravia engine just oversaturates colors and make them look like amoled. No offense but if this is the only reason you should unlock.
Also bravia enginr still works for videos.

downgrade xperia z
i want to downgrade my xperia z C6602 to jelly bean from lollipop .. what should i do ? should i unlock the bootloader at first or no ?
Hello XDA,
I have just purchased an Xperia Z1 and i'm loving it so far, I have just upgraded the phone to Android 4.4 OTA.
I would like to unlock the bootloader and flash a 4.4 Custom ROM, i got the phone with no warranty, so i will go through sony's official tool to unlock the bootloader.
As i will do that, do i still need to backup my TA partition? also i heard sometime ago that unlocking the bootloader through Sony's Website damages the Camera.
Is this still the case?
Thank you in advance.
Hi, you must downgrade to the 534 Firmware, then rooting and after that backup the TA Partition and after that flash an 4.4 ROM. if You finished you can unlock the Bootloader

Yes only when you unlock your bootloader you will lose warranty
Gesendet von meinem C6903 mit Tapatalk
Its your choice
If you are not bothered with the warrenty then there is no need to back up
Personally I notice no difference without the DRM keys
Can't i just unlock the bootloader through sony without backing up the TA and then using a custom rom and recovery?

Hello everyone,
I have a t810 running 5.0.2. I would like to update to 5.1.1 but I am unsure because of rooting 5.1.1. This seems to be a bit more complicated as I would need to flash a modified kernel before flashing chainfire root, correct?
But this is not why I am unsure. My problem/question is the modified kernel I need to flash before rooting.
Looking through the forums I found only one such kernel which is from September last year.
Now my question is, isn't this kernel outdated? And wouldn't I need a current modified kernel when I want to root one of the latest 5.1.1 Roms?

The kernel isn't required any more. Just flash the latest supersu beta v2.66.
Make a twrp backup before flashing anything.
Just a small update. I flashed the latest 5.1.1 and twrp via odin, then flashed supersu beta 2.66 from within twrp and both root and xposed framework work fine.
