Did this fix the WiFi disconnection on cm10?
EDIT: on cm10 this works quite well. Wi-Fi disconnects less now, and when it does, it reconnects instantly.

Related
Okay, schiznik has compiled AOSP for the wildfire from source, but he didn't get touchscreen to work, it is kernel related.
[v2] Added idc file for synaptics touchscreen devices
[v2] Enabled JIT
[v2] More build.prop tweaks for people experiencing problems with data and 3G.
For problems with sound and microphone, this is lib related most likely, and the drivers can be modified but most likely do not need to be.
Maybe the sound libraries and the microphone libraries need to be edited a bit then recompiled. Sadly I have no experience in compiling libraries.
Download the ROM (flash it in recovery): http://www.multiupload.com/IAPABV6DVX
Download v2 (flash over the first version, this is needed): http://www.multiupload.com/LHIU9E3F0V
MAKE SURE YOU WIPE DATA/CACHE FIRST.
Feedback needed, what does, and what doesn't work?
This is mostly the work of schiznik, he deserves all the credit, I only fixed the touchscreen.
Still, any thanks are appreciated
Keiran
We added modified wifi module to our galaxy tab rom and guess what?

CM9 will come, official or not, other ARMv6 devices will get CM9 and that is the main barrier in place so far.

May possibly re-root just to try this out. Nice to see you got most things working now. Will be waiting for some bug reports before posting my feedback. Great to see you still working on the wildfire even after buying a new phone!

I would be ROM developing for the play, but getting the touchpads (analog sticks) working on any rom is murder, even team freexperia who were assisted by Sony didn't manage to get it working properly, and only minecraft works on it IIRC.
Still, this was easy to do for me, schiznik did the hard part.

Thats awesome that it is booting, now, test two things for me when it boots:
Does the touchscreen work?
if yes, does Wifi work (turn on)?
Then you can test other stuff like bluetooth.

WiFi works for me and so does BT
Also landscape is working as well
BTW I recommend to first flash CM7 then wipe data/cache and dalvik, and then flash this; for some reason this makes it more stable...

I think all the devices do not support 38.4 MHz for wifi (which is default in your rom) that is why some are getting wifi connection while some are unable to search. Also my device can not find wifi network.
I checked with system/etc/wifi/tiwlan.ini and STRFRefClock is set to 4 by default. I changed it to 0 (19.2 MHz) and now it can search for networks like a charm.
Of course DHCP works out of the box.

The problem is that Yahoo Weather APIs has changed.
In the thread abound cLock widget for CM10.1, the dev explain what is going on.
For CM10.1 roms, you just need to replace the cLock APK with new one, but with CM10 I think that a recompile of one or more system APKs is needed since the lockscreen is part of the system and not just a widget.

The GPS has always been qite hit and miss for the S because of hardware faults, although that can be changed (its under the general section)
Any rom based off CM10.2 (which includes Mackay, Helly Bean etc) contains updated GPS libs which apparently have boosted GPS speed/performance
Alternatively some roms contain AngryGPS which does help boost connectivity (in my cases at least, though this will vary)
