Whenever i'm installing an app, independently of it's size. After downloading, the phone starts to lag and freeze in a very strange way. Always.

Can someone tell me what we will actually be able to download if bootloader remains looked? Can we flash certain types of Rom or mods? Or can we do nothing?

Should work the same as the S4 MF update that locked down the bootloader. You should be able to root but as for custom roms and CWM/TWRP we're out of luck.
Coming from a S4 running CM10.2 I'm not going to like using the standard rom but will get used to it I guess.
So even with the bootlegged locked we should be able to tour so we can use TB to backup and restore?

I have a locked MF3 firmware S4 and I'm running 3 different ROMs that are hot swappable thanks to Safestrap developed my Hashcode so even with a locked bootloader you can do something. Only thing is for now we are limited to internal storage for the ROM slots can't create them on external SD card but Hashcode has been working on that. Also we can only flash TW ROMs since we can't flash a custom kernel but that is also being worked on, I believe they want to be able flash a kernel with kexec. I have an AT&T S4 and currently swapping between an international Foxhound ROM, Google Play ROM, and well the stock ROM.

At this point I'd be happy with just root so I can use Titanium Backup.
Would be nice if we could get Loki.

Even tho I don't have any phone that has a bootloader. (i don't live in the USA Neither)
But if your Bootloader is locked you cannot Flash CWM or TWRP or flash custom roms (Because they need CWM or TWRP).
Sorry if I'm wrong. I don't have any phone with locked bootloader. Hope this helps.

Ditto... which is why I am returning my AT&T Note 3 less than 24 hrs after I purchased it.
My fault for not researching the bootlocker issue, but no way am I going to give up Titanium Backup. It has saved my tail more than once.
I'm also coming from an att S4. There has not been a bootloader unlock exploit but they do have some work around exploits like loki & safestrape. Loki is out bc they've already patched that so at this point I just hope we get root bc without that you don't have a fighting chance at custom roms

All I want to do is remove the AT&T bloat as well as the Samsung bloat. When I took my stock Note 2 and installed Cleanrom on it it felt like the phone got a cpu boost. Everything was smoother and faster.
With root, can we uninstall crap that is blocked from being removed while stock? I can live with a locked bootloader if I can just get as close to a stripped rom as possible. I'm pretty new to this stuff so forgive the newbie question.
Hi everyone,
I updated my phone last week, but I didnt liked this atualization. My battery is draining, so I want to downgrade to good and old 4.4.2 but my bootloader is blocked
Have a way to do this with blocked bootloader ?

who is your carrier? Is the SBF for your carrier's 4.4.2 version available at -> http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=0 ??
As long as the bootloader and gpt.bin haven't changed between 4.4.2 and 4.4.3 (which I am not sure of because 4.4.3 isn't out for my phone yet), you should be able to use mFastboot or RSDLite to downgrade... BUT with a locked bootloader, you will have to make sure you are using the SBF for your carrier.
I know it sucks to do this but I had my battery drain issue post 4.4.3 upgrade I did a full system restore, turned off location reporting and location history just (basically just turned All location services damn near off) and then slowly started adding apps back to check and see if there was any drastic changes on a per app basis and eventually it seemed to be less drastic battery drain. I also did the old "battery calibration" which I hear is totally unnecessary and essentially works as placebo... But I will say I truly feel it did do some good. Once down to 2% I launched and ran a movie on the phone and it ran another half hour or so... Maybe I should test this battery calibration. Anyways, that's what seemed to help mine. The phone now has an off charger time if about 17hours with 2.5hrs screen in time. That's about the best I can do.

Oh and I turned location reporting and all that other stuff back on. That is factored into my off charger/screen on time.

Im using the version retail Brasil 4.4.3 and I downloaded the retail 4.4.2 Brasil on your site.
Can I try the downgrade with RSD lite with no unlocked bootloader?
Sorry about my bad english,

Before the update to 4.4.3, my phone was getting 4, 5 hours of screen with 3G turned ON.

Ok, as long as the Versions match!! in other words, when you look on the phone under Settings -> About Phone... you'll see the System Version. As long as that matches the Firmware Version for the file you got from http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=0 you are good and can use RSDLite to downgrade.
Because your bootloader is locked, if they don't match, it will fail to flash.
I recently updated to Android 4.4.4 on my Xperia Z1S and from then on, every time I take a picture, my camera just freezes and I have to lock and unlock in order to get out of the freeze. I haven't been able to take a picture since that time. Oh and btw, my phone is not rooted in any way.
Is there a fix for this? Or do I have to rollback to the previous version?

You are using a rom, its called stock.
Try forcing a repair using pccompanion.
Run it, choose software update and if it says you have the latest software click on the blue "Repair your device" in the dialog box.
This will wipe your phone but will repair the phone

My Moto G 4G is still not showing the Lollipop update here in the UK even though some people seem to have it.
Does rooting have an effect as well?
Oops I'm in the wrong forum.

If you are just rooted and haven't flashed a custom recovery then you should be able to get the update. If you are using a custom recovery then you will probably receive the OTA, but you won't be able to update until you are on a stock recovery.
So I'm planning to root my X for the first time and I'm on stock 5.1.
As long as I remain on stock the moto features do not get affected right?
Also, if I am on stock rom but rooted, will it affect any future OTA?
Sent from my XT1095 using XDA Free mobile app
The stock features remain unchanged after root.
You can't take an ota with root. You have to be 100% stock for updates to work.
Sent from my XT1095
Its worth noting that you can just fastboot flash the system prior to taking an OTA to allow it. No need for a full factory reset or anything.

Also, how do I check the status of my bootloader? I've got a pure edition. Pardon me for the stupid question but I've never used a device other than a Samsung which were pretty straight forward to root.
If by any chance I need to come back to stock rom what would the steps for that be?

1) Power off phone; 2) Tap and briefly hold Power and Volume Down. The bootloader version will show at the top of the next screen.
