[Q] Backing up "album" - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Now, I want to backup my "albums" automatically, or as soon as a picture is added to them. Now, I have dropbox instant upload etc.. but those types apps only upload a new camera capture or screenshot. I'm looking for something that will do this, but will also save the other pictures in my "album" which include MMS pictures saved to "album". received pictures through facebook etc... Or is there no such app and I must manually transfer these off my phone?
Thanks

There s apps for External Cloud Storage that instantly backup every media in ur phone into ur personal cloud
like seagate, western digital and etc.
remote cloud server like google.drive or box, dropbox & etc are limited to some kind of backup.
:good:

Do you have saved MMS/Facebook pictures on your phone? Does it backup these too? IThe app pages suggests is only backs up your camera roll (photos taken/screenshots).

I work self employed and have to email my invoices to people, i currently do this via my computer. Is there a way i can save a template of my invoices on my note and send them via email on my note? If not. Is there anything i can download regardless of cost so that i can do this?

I'm not exactly sure what you're wanting here but how's this?
Create an invoice template in Word format on computer.
Copy it to the phone.
Use Polaris Office to edit the template and create individual invoices.
You can then use the app below to create PDF files from your Word invoice. I've not tried the app myself so no promises.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=br.com.thinkti.android.wordtopdf
wordtopdf requires internet connection to convertion to pdf
You can try "Smart Office 2" it seem it do not require internet connection.
There are actual invoicing apps on Play that allow you to design, create, and track your invoices.

Dave

Thanks guys for your reply's....
what it is, is that i have a invoice template which is saved on my computer, and every sunday i need to fill it in and e-mail it to people.
but at the moment, its just a microsoft work document, can i simply transfer that to my phone? and will i be able to open it up on my phone and fill it out? then send it via email?
Yeah, no problem to just edit and email a Word doc with Polaris Office.

i've just tried the polaris office, copied my invoice template across from my computer to my phone, then went into my GMail, went to 'attach' and my only option is camera or screen capture.
so how do i get my invoice?
ignore that last message, just noticed i have to send it via polaris.
thanks alot guys, think i got it sorted now.
No worries. Glad you're sorted.
1 more question.....
I know this is a long shot BUT......
is there a way i can keep my invoices which i'll be filling out on my note, synchronised with the computer, so i can keep track on either computer or phone?

Best option would be to use dropbox ( if cloud storage is ok ) to sync with pc . Nothing syncs better. U can also get dropsync app to have physical copies of the files in a specific folder in the phone.
If u dont like ur files to be in cloud, u can use a wifi file syncing app like cheetah sync

If you use dropbox on your computer and your note then you can synchronize the folder containing the invoices.

Dropbox is fab. There are phone and pc apps. Put your invoices in the folders and the sync from one to the other.
If you use this link http://db.tt/APjkjZp I get a bit more storage

Picasa Albums not showing in Gallery?

Hey everyone,
this has been mentioned for other devices as well, however, I did not find a way to make this work yet. I would like to have my Picasa Albums show in the Gallery. In Account/Sync settings of my phone, I can select "Sync Google Photos" (whatever that means?), but there is no "Sync Picasa" option.
What I want to achieve is my Picasa Albums showing in the gallery. Ideally including the option to only sync them on Wifi, and select which Albums I would like to be able to have available offline - top notch option would be to select an image size to use for offline storage as well, cause I obviously wouldn't like to have the full 4 MB or more image resolution on my phone storage.
Any ideas?
Best regards,
Hendrik

Yes, seems like it - but there doesn't seem to be an "offline sync" feature, which I really would like to have...there are a lot of areas here where there is only poor data coverage.

so where is your link to your g+? jajaja just kidding, you can stop g+ to upload your pics from the acounts&sync in settings almost at the bottom.
Hi,
personnaly, I have already done that but the upload continue anyway
And the "Instant Upload" was already desactivate but it continued to upload photos
I tried to clear cache (G+ and gallery too) but always the same problem.
I tried to desactivate the synchro but still the same. (in acounts&sync)
At the end, i unstalled G+ and reinstall it. Near the end of the installation G+ ask to activate "instant Upload" : i didn't check this point and now i'm ok.
No more notification in G+ on my PC.

I think you have an option to disabled it in the account sync setting. Anyway, I think the photos uploaded are not made public unless you say so, they are there but only you can see them

Hello,
Yes there is an option to disable sync in G+ on PC too but that doesn't work neither.
And yes the photos are not public but, like in faceb.. , only my "friends circle" as google says (if i had 1) could see the pictures. So imagine if naked pictures were uploaded without my consent !!
I discovered that google+ had uploaded all photos and videos i made or transfered without my consent from my tablet i had since 1 year while G+ has been installed 2 or 3 months ago.
In fact it was with my consent because i had authorized "Instant Upload" to do this without figure what was exactly this function.

[Q] Apps Link issues - HELP please!

Hi, this is my first time to use android. Coming from BB OS and IOS, I have no problems linking my social media friends list on my phone's contacts... But with Xperia Z3C now, profile pics on my contact list is blurred. Pic is not cleared. I asked the store on where I bought the phone and I was told that this is normal for Android phones? Is this true? If not, how can I improve the clarity of profile pics on my contacts list (linked from social media apps.)
Thank you!

Can someone please explain pictures and storage on the Nexus 6?

Hi All,
I got the Nexus 6 a few weeks ago and I like it pretty well though I'm having a hard time figuring out how to work it lol. One major thing I'm not understanding - it seems to have no picture storage in the phone itself that I can find. Is this correct? There's no "Gallery" or anything - all I can get into is my google photos. Which would be okay I guess except that not everything saves to Google Photos. For example:
Last night I took a picture with the camera app I use (Camera 360) and edited it in another app (don't remember which one - it was an in memory pic so I just needed to add some text). Anyways, I saved it and it said it was saving to the phone, however, it's not anywhere in the google photos. I couldn't find it anywhere. But then when I went to Facebook it popped up in my options to upload a photo. So it has to be saving somewhere!
I also have a lot of issues with photos from Camera 360, Instagram, FB, and other apps doing the same thing - they'll show in my FB options or if I click within the Camera 360 app on the preview area but they don't show in Google Photos or anywhere else on the phone.
Can anyone explain this to me please?
Thanks!

No. I don't really use the cloud. I want to be able to access everything physically on the phone if possible but I'll look into that too.
I thought it didn't have an SD card slot so how to I check what you said at the end there? If there's no SD card then how would it be saving to an SD Card? Sorry... I'm not the brightest with this kind of thing.

Okay thanks! So what do I do then? Do I just use that file manager going forward every time I want to access my pictures? What I'm trying to figure out is how I can view/display/transfer my photos going forward. Should I download a gallery app?

I actually had that on my last phone and liked it but there was a weird glitch on my old phone where it wouldn't let me delete anything. Even if I deleted pics from the phone gallery they would still show in QuickPic. Then if I tried to delete them in there it gave me a weird error. I could probably try it on the new phone again here though!
I did download the file manager and that seems like it will work perfect.

Isn't there is device folder at the left side of the menu in the google photo app. I usually find all the picture there, screenshoot and stuff like that.

Do consider backing it up to the cloud. That way, if your phone dies or gets lost/damaged, you won't be stuck trying to figure out how to recover your pictures. Google Photos app gives you unlimited storage for your photos (just don't choose "original resolution"). The photo/video will still be there on your phone, but will have a backup on the cloud.

Yes, I do the same. Tap the menu icon on the left side of Goole Photos App, and then tap "Device Folders",
This will show OP all the local camera photos in DCIM, as well as any screenshots/downloads, etc

Hmm. I'm confused. Maybe I do this and just didn't know it was called the cloud? Right now my photos from my last like 4 phones are in my "Google Photos" and I can access them all on any phone I've had, on the computer, etc. So they're already stored in Google Photos?

Go to photos.google.com and sign in with your google account. See if your photos are showing there. If yes, then you are good - they are being backed up. You can verify the settings in the photos app on your phone too - settings/backup and sync. Verify that it is on, and that upload size is high quality (or you can choose original - but that will not be unlimited)
