Help with calls!! - LG Optimus 4X HD

Hello. I have an optimus 4x rooted with unlocked bootloader, and right now I use enox rom. My problem is that i have installed most custom roms on xda, and since 3 months, I am experiencing some problems with calls. My signal is full, hspa, but just whenever my phone wants it just hang up. I was on omni 4.4.2 for a month now, and it has just happened 2 times, but today that I am back at an older rom (it was happening on every custom rom before) it started again and till now, we are talking for more than 20 times...

Not normally, cause Enox is stock based, you are right..but who knows, maybe after flashing a couple of roms, system became crazy about baseband, so I thought suggesting him to try your workaround could be a good idea..the only other way to try to solve the problem could be wiping everything, and make a clean install, or restoring stock with kdz tool..but maybe epj RIL can do the trick, considering the crazy flashing which has been reported on the first post.. It should be fine, if working, cause there will be no necessity to make factory reset

CM10 (can't remember which nightly I used) doesn't have those problems either.
Apparently ShenduOS is also really good. I haven't had time to test it yet.

you obviously dont know how to use the phone. latest cm10 nightly dont have that bugs, maybe the battery drain but it depends on how you use the phone but my experience with any gb roms specially stock is the same battery life with cm10, so everyone can use it now as a daily driver aside from you caveman who dont know how to use your ob.

nightly from 20121111 or 20121114 have an exelent battery duration, the only issues that I had so far, is GPS takes around 10 minutos to lock a satelite, and the camera crashes every time you try to record a video, photos works great
Does som1 has the problem that the softkeys aren't working?? i did all 3 wipes but they still don't work
Can you guys please tell me what firmware (KDZ/AP+CP) you are using?? or is it a hardware issue??
When using CWM or CynMod7 (boype's) they respond great, but using cm10 they don't work at all (not responding, lights are on!)
I had the same issue and solved formating /system. I'm using RR JB v3.

Doesn't make much sense, if you flash a stock ROM you need to root first to flash a custom ROM and if you want a custom ROM why flash a stock ROM first?

you're using a wrong kernel version(s). you're using probably kernel for 4.3 roms, while most new roms are on 4.3.1.

If so, what about not flashing any custom kernel for the time being. Do a full wipe including /system and flash a rom. But don't flash a custom kernel back to back. Wait and see whether it solves your problem.

Wipe System, Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache, flash rom, flash kernel, flash gapps. Use the any kernel or the kernels from the repacks by me, try fixing permissions as well before you reboot, or it may even be a rom problem, use an official Rom and make sure the version is actually 4.3.1 and not 4.3 or 4.2.2 or MiUi as I think that uses it's own kernel all together, if the problem persists, use stock and stock.

Flash just the Rom and not gapps, flash and let the phone boot up and when it's finished booting, reboot back to recovery and flash gapps, again let it fully start, then go back and wipe caches and flash an any kernel or one of my repacks and fix permissions and try again, if that fails, update the rom zip your using or revert to stock stock stock.
its not that im not capable of flashing a custom rom/kernel
i did it on al my phones
but now i get the problem with every rom and kernel
is there any thread with download links and tutorial to flash back to the stock rom and kernel?

3G problem with kitkat roms

Hi my friend has a problem with his S3 mini his first custom rom flash was cyangenomod 11.0 4.4.2 he had no problems apart from battery drain, he has flashed a few other kit Kat Roms had no problems, just a bit rubbish so he flashed carbon 4.4.2 and his 3g did not work ever since, no kit Kat Roms work with 3g any more since carbon, he is currently using pacrom 4.3.1 with no problems, but he would like to use carbon 4.4.2 as this rom has particular features which are better than other roms. Is there away to fix this? He ask on Maclaw (novafusion) but no reply.

They are few and far apart from what they were. But as stated above, once all the aosp Roms are using 4.4 source it will be a thing of the past.
Jackpotcalvin has a cm11 based off 4.4 for the vs980 and people are saying no reboots or sod, plus Bluetooth seems to be a lot better as well

They fixed the reboots a while ago. It was a kernel issue I think (usually are). That only occurred on custom cm/aosp based roms running 4.4.2 and a 4.2.2 kernel.
Everything has been updated to 4.4.2 source and nice.

nice it was originally why I sold the phone i've been with the moto x but just sold that and will have the g2 again on thursday it is a much better phone I am glad the reboots have been solved.
There are never any reboots/SODs on stock based roms. But even after source etc, CM/AOSP will never be as stable IMO. e.g on my GS3 I would still get a reboot sometimes running AOSP months after the roms were stable.

Which roms are fixed? I'm using CM11 and still getting reboots. I have the latest nightly (4/22) installed. I even did a clean install and I've had like 4 (noticed) reboots since I installed it yesterday.

The aosp Roms still based on the 4.2 kernels are still having issues. Only one that I didn't was liquid smooth.
Mahdi has a beta out right now thats based off the 4.4 kernel, and all that trash is a thing of the past.
Smooth as hell, no reboots/sod's, no lag freezes, Bluetooth is much better.
If you have a Vs980, jackpotcalvin made a cm11 build based off the 4.4 kernel, and it for the most part is positive, but he doesn't work on it anymore, and cm doesn't care enough to develop for our phone anymore. (Too busy with samjunk)
Anyways, Mahdi has a beta that's 4.4 and paranoid android has a 4.4 beta as well. Both are smooth, though Mahdi has all the customization and is smoother for me then what pa is.
Pa is nothing but a base. Not many features.

[Q] Fastest ROM?

I just turned back to my old SGS, because my One M8 is on RMA and I'd like to know your subjective opinion on which is the fastest ROM out there. I don't really care much about features, just want a stable base.
Gingerbread is really fast on this phone, but I'd like to use something newer, namely ICS or newer...
I tried last CM 11 M7 and that was just unusably slow. Didn't think that this phone has a problem with KitKat.
So I tried CM 9.1, because people here said that it's faster than KK... and it was okay, but it was definitely slower than official GB, especially after I installed just about 20 apps.
Now I'm clueless, is there anything 4.x faster then these? Should I stay on stock?
Thanks
same situation with you..
broke my nexus 4 and now waiting for lg g2...
so galaxy s out of the box.
think will try something like ics...
Try Nameless. Word of caution though. Change the boot animation. I usually do this and delete the original rom animation before flashing to phone.
The rom is fast and smooth, currently 4. 4. 3. The original boot animation does cause problems though so make sure to change it.

Yeah specifically nameless.
On initial boot after flashing it is fine, but booting after that bootloops or simply hangs for an age. I saw a post on the nameless thread saying they had left it for 3 hours I think they said.
I extracted the omni boot animation which works fine, but I have tried others and have had the same problem.
Other than that the Rom is flawless.
