I did unr3l3as3droot and forever root first. Then I did the path saver. Then I flashed 896 and 901. After that, I downloaded the 902 ota but didn't install it. Moved it from /cache to the external SD card. Then I turned the phone off. To turn it back on, I hit both volume up and down as I powered it back on. That took me to a different menu that I can't currently think of the name but that is where you will flash 902 at. Remember that the 902 update has 901 in its file name when flashing. If you come across a triangle thing, hit volume up and down and the update will flash.

Easier root method...
There is an easier way then this now...
1. Install update
2. Use the Droid 4 exploit found at vulnfactory.org/blog/2012/02/11/rooting-the-droid-4-a-failed-bounty-experiment/ and yes it works for the Bionic on 5.9.902 (i just got done using it)
3. Look at your phone.... its now rooted.
And everyone who uses it should donate to djrbliss and prove that the Android community can support such a valuable asset!

I just did the OTA over wireless and did the update and I kept ROOT.
I did un-froze all the apps I had frozen with titanium backup before applying the update.
Still have root...
In my case, the update wouldn't install. I had to go all the way back before I could go forward.

Droid stuck on Dual Core screen after factory SBF flash.

Heyya , I'm having a problem after flashing the factory SBH to my droid. I was having problems with the custom ROM I was on , so I wanted to flash it back to stock so I could actually use it. I downloaded the 1 click method SBF and It went through it fine and it rebooted , but now its stuck on the dual core screen. I even tried re flashing it but no luck. Any suggestions ?
After you flashed the SBF did you boot into stock recovery and do a factory reset?

Did you use the files for .906? This one? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1686911
Then use this one instead (.890): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1255198
If you used the second one (.890): Now try again using the .906 version.

You're running a different system than the factory SBF most likely, so get the 5.7.90x files for the SBF.

if your stuck at the dual core that means that means that you were on. 890 and used the. 906
the simplest fix is to download the. 906 update found on my thread push it to your external sdcard boot your phone into stock recovery pwr+x and install the update or you could download the. 890 sbf also found on my thread and re sbf
I figured that , downloaded another sbf and now it woks fine. Thanks for the help though!

rooting alone will not, block or stop updates
removing stock apks, and changing other things will
fastest way to fix, flash 890 xml recovery file in rsd lite, wipe data before or after, and try updating again

If you never deleted anything from stock, the easiest way is to change safestrap to non-safe system (or stock, if you are on 3.05) and restart in stock. The update should appear pretty fast.
Again, if you ever debloated stock before installing Safestrap, then the RSD Lite is your best bet.
You would need to root again and reinstall safestrap recovery. Root again with Motofail, because Pete Souza's script no longer works with 5.7.906.

Phone not booting after the JB's installation

Hi guys,
I installed JB on my droid 4. It was running the stock ICS from Motorola. I used this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2199741
I installed it by wiping the normal slot and put the zip file on the first rom slot.
I was able to boot on it without any problems, and I unistalled some of the stock apps (such as Verizon stuff, Motorola... I don't quite remember all the names). Since this moment, I didn't reboot my phone and it was fine.
But today I went out of battery, and now my phone wont boot ! I have the "Dual Core Technology", the Safetrap screen, and then blackscreen. Even the Motorola recovery wont work. And the phone doesn't seem to charge for whatever reason.
Is there a way to make my phone boot ? I was thinking about reinstalling ICS and make the update OTA to JB, but since I don't have energy on my phone I don't have time to do this...
Help me !
Thank you.
I'm sure you could just use

And go straight to jb ... But idk just a thought....
