Hard to find a good step by step guide on here.
I have a stock 32GB nook HD+ 2.2.0 and want to install CM11 on the internal memory. Started reading this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2062613 but getting a little lost. Whats the difference between the emmc version and the non emmc? Are they just different version for running CM on sd card instead of the internal memory like the old nooks?
Do I need to root first or is cm11 already rooted, if so how? getting lost on all these tutorials.
I have a 4GB microSD should I use the 4gb version on the stock small?
So here's what I am thinking for the internal nook install.
Use win 32disk imager and format the sdcard using the NookHDplus-bootable-CWM-6028-for-stock-small-rev4-(05.15.13) or 4gb image?
Then transfer cm-11-20140118-UNOFFICIAL-ovation-emmc.zip or cm-11-20140118-UNOFFICIAL-ovation-sdcard.zip to the sd card still zipped up and use CWM recovery to flash it? I'm thinking the stock small CWM should be used so I can fit the CM zip on the 4gb sd card.
Do not follow that guide for installing CM11. That is for stock mods. There are two other guides for putting CM11 on internal memory.
Here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2602796
Or here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2679899
And yes you can run CM11 either on emmc (internal memory) or on SD, just like the older Nooks. Those guides above are for installing to internal. Be sure to use the correct version zip for the one you want.

Prefect! Exactly what i needed
One question though the link here verygreen’s flashable CWM recovery zip file cwm-recovery-ovation-6.zip (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49192422&postcount=1) the files in there are called "cm-11-20140118-UNOFFICIAL-ovation-emmc.zip" not CWM Clockworkmod.

Try using the version from my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature. Make it per item 1a. Use that to flash the plain stock 2.2.0 in my item 6 followed by a factory reset with CWM.
PS, and don't be formatting those partitions with CWM, it just gets you into trouble.

I'm confused on what files to actually download?!! any help please?
Advice please
kk so last night i had a go at the kit kat tutorial.
Think I got the right files in the end. (see attachment photo)
Managed to get CWM flashed on the 32gb micro SD and insert it into the Nook and reboot it into recovery.
Then i needed to back up stock OS to SD but it goes through the process but at the end it says no EXT SD found.
So it has the back-up on the internal memory which i cannot get off.
Why did it not back up to EXT SD?

That EXT SD it says it cannot find is not the external SD you are thinking of. It is looking for an old scheme not used anymore where apps sometimes were stored in an extra partition named that on the external SD. Your backup was probably stored on the external SD. It depends on which option you chose when you made it. If you chose the wrong option it might be stored on the internal memory. In any case it is easy to get it off.

Hi guys,
I tried installing cyanogenmod on my new Nook HD+ but when trying to install CM11 it gave me a status 7 error!!
I did make a backup before installing and so I wanted to know how to recover back to factory setting or whether I can still install CM11? When turning the tablet on it just goes to CWM v6.0.4.6
What do I do???
To get to stock go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature and make a new bootable CWM SD per item 1a. Use that to flash a plain stock zip from item 6. Follow that with a factory reset by CWM. That takes you back like it came out of the box.
I don't know which guide you used to try to install CM11, but I suggest you use this one:

Thank you for your reply. I did use that guide but I think the CM11 file I downloaded must have been corrupt?
Is there anyway of trying to put another CM11 file on the device without installing stock rom?
I need to get another SD card to try to restore to factor setting.
You said you wanted together back to stock. That is what I told you how to do. You can't use that 6046 CWM to do it.
If you want to try again with CM11, just do it.

Yes I appreciate that, thank you.
I was just wondering whether I could somehow do something now to get CM11 on the device without having to get back to stock?

I don't think I have made myself very clear. Since following the guide I received an error, so I can;t follow the guide now. I just need to try to change the file that was corrupt or start again. I would prefer to change the file but I don't know whether that is possible. If it isn't I will have to buy another sd card to try to solve this problem.
At the moment I can't use the device but it does boot to CWM.
You are not making yourself clear. There had to be more to the error message than "status 7". Maybe you don't remember. Or maybe you lost the file and you cannot try again. And why can't you use the SD you used the first time?

this is what happens:

I suppose I could use the same sd card but don't I have to put the files on the internal sd card for it to reboot to the factory setting?

Now that you have CWM v6046 already on internal memory, it is ok to have the files you want to flash on the external SD. It is only the version on SD that needs the files on internal SD. Get SDFormatter free on the web and use it to format the SD so it goes back to its normal size. Then you can put the CM and gapps zips on the SD. CWM v6046 has an option to flash a zip from external SD.
But that being said, that error message tells me that you have too old of a version of CWM on internal. Are you sure it is version 6046?

...Also if I take the sd card out then the bootloader doesnt load. the Nook logo just loops?
Thank you, I got it back to Stock and will try the install again!
I got there and installed CM11 now. Thanks for your advice.
I downloaded the wrong CM11 file, instead of downloading the emmc.zip I downloaded Sd-card zip!
hi, when i use win32diskimager it wastes most of my 8gb memory card. i then dont have enough room to put my gapps and rom on
after writing the cwn, it says 110mb available from 116mb. but the card was freshly reformatted to almost 8gb
anyone know whats going wrong?
That is the way it is supposed to be if you are using verygreen's original version of the install method. I assume you are trying to install CM to internal memory. If you are go to the Dummies guide linked in my signature it will let you install properly.

Hello,
I have 2 weeks to return my Nook HD+ to B&N for a warranty replacement
due to a charging issue (it randomly reports the battery strength at 1% and
then shuts down even though the battery has a charge). I've read and re-read
various threads but haven't been able to figure out how to return the Nook to
the stock rom. I have CM11 installed on emmc with TWRP. It's been nearly
a year since I installed it and can't find a back-up recovery or even remember
if I made one. For the most part, the guides I've found refer using to CWM
rather than TWRP. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.
Go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature and make a new bootable CWM SD per item 1a. An alternate to that is to go to item 5 and flash the v6036 CWM to internal memory replacing your TWRP. Use the CWM to flash the plain stock zip from item 6. Follow that with a factory reset with CWM. You cannot use the TWRP you now have on internal memory to flash the stock zip. It will fail.

Thanks for your reply. Prior to posting my question, I've tried to follow your guide.
Please take a look at the the steps I took and let me know what I should have done differently.
I only had a 2gb SD card on hand. Anyway, here are the steps I took:
Formatted a 2gb SD card with SD Formatter. Then with MiniTool Partition wizard the partition was set as "active".
Next Win32DiskImager was used to write NookHDplus-bootable-CWM-6027-for-emmc-stock-small-rev3-(02.03.13) to the SD
card. At that point, the card had a capacity of something like 110 MB so I used MiniTool Partition Wizard again to extend
the volume using the remaining unallocated space on the card. I then copied NookHDplus-factory-2.2.0-plain-stock to the SD card.
When I put the card back in the Nook and hit the start button, the Nook boots right into the Cynoboot Universal Bootloader and loads
CM11.
Since I already have TWPR, is there a way to install a Stock Rom with TWRP and then remove TWRP?
Thanks,
JDK
You combined two different methods to make the SD and messed it up.
No, you cannot use that internal TWRP to flash the stock.
You should do what I said earlier. Download the v6036 CWM zip from item 5 and boot to internal TWRP and flash it. It will replace TWRP with CWM. Then boot to internal CWM and flash the stock zip as I earlier instructed.

It makes much more sense to me now. My mistake was that I did combine both methods. Since these steps can all be done from within the Nook, to keep it simple for a simple guy such as myself, , I don't need to be writing any files to an SD card. I'll give your revised instructions a try and let you know how it works out. I've used CWM on my phones, so I feel like I have of pretty good chance of getting it right this time! I guess I just needed to be walked through this, step by step. Thanks for giving me some more detailed instructions.
