have i change a kernel ??

Hello Guys..I am Experia user,.now I want to learn about how to mod Galaxy mini.
questions :
~Have I change a kernel to upgrade or install custom rom ??
~which one of stable rom ?? based Cm7, Cm9 or Cm10 ??
~which rom will give me more free ram and perfomance ??
Any one would help me ??Thanks....
(sorry for my English )
first you will need to be on gingerbread
then you should install cwm recovery from Odin (no unlocking required)
then just choose your favourite rom and flash with cwmr

I search and get a thread that I can start to root and instal cwm on froyo ,is that right?
how about kernel and unlock bootloader ??do you mean the default kernel has support all custom rom ??
no need to root froyo just upgrade to gb with the help of Odin multi downloader
we have recovery.img so no need to change the kernel and in every rom its supported kernel is baked
so I must upgrade to official ginger then rooting and instal cwm ??
yes you will need to be on gingerbread either official or unofficial
and rooting is not required to install cwm recovery
and a big warning is do not use rom manager on this phone to install cwm, mobile will get brick

do you mean no need root to upgrade & mod this device??
yes no root for installing custom rom
as we are not flashing recovery from from manager and Odin do not require root
but if you want to be on stock and want to modify it then you will need root
Thanks for your time....nice to see this forum,God bless you !!!

Bootloader unlocking is the case of HTC phones. In Samsung phone, you don't've to worry about unlocking bootloader

Just flash cf root kernel using Odin to get root and cwm recovery. Then flash the cm10 zip and gapps.

Semaphore kernel is inside the CM10 zip so it will get automatically installed when your flash the zip.
Yes CWM recovery is built into cf root kernel.
Also when you flash the Cm10 zip remember your phone will restart almost straight away and go into boot loop. This is because the partition layout is being changed.
Just reinsert the battery and boot into recovery again. Flash the cm10 zip again and this time it will finish installation.
& its no problem

Once you've got a working recovery, flash a cm10.1 kernel, reboot to recovery and then flash the ROM and gapps. Don't forget to full wipe before flashing. Sorry, I haven't seen the video.

fastboot a kernel which has cwm.
what I did is after installing the JyROM, I flashed(it is mentioned in the steps if I want to get root) the flashable version of SuperSU v1.91(I just guessed this version of supersu because it is not mentioned in the steps what version to use, hehe, but luckily, it is fine after rebooting).
then I installed again CWM.

Root a 6.01 with no recovery.

Is there a way to root a stock 6.01 that no longer has root and a working recovery? (Slim Rom 1.3 killed them both)

You could use Flashtool to put an older rom on the phone, root that, install recovery and flash a more recent rom. It will mean losing your current rom though.

OK thanks - that's helpful. so currently it's a downgrade , root, install recovery and then install a rom from recovery.

Pretty much.
Or downgrade, root, flash an upgrade and install recovery. Either way, a downgrade is probably required.
