Here is the US GooglePlay Option...
Nexus 4 from Google Play USA (Updated 30/1/2013) This option involves using:
A VPN (recommend Tunnelbear), http://www.tunnelbear.com/
A parcel forwarding service in the US - NZ Post have YouShop http://www.nzpost.co.nz/products-services/online-shopping/youshop (It's worth noting that some members here have had a very mediocre experience with YouShop lately - One has even had his phone stolen after arriving in the YouShop warehouse! This is not indicative of everybody's dealings with them, but I would recommend caution with this option. There are plenty of other companies which may give you a better end result).
Setting up your Google Wallet with the YouShop address in the US (or whatever the address is of your Parcel Forwarding company)
I have read that some people have set up entirely new Google Accounts, so that may also help...
Finally you'll need a whole lot of luck - this seems to have worked for a few people, but not others.

The US Google Play Store is by far and away the cheapest option available, so if you can do this option, I would recommend you give it a go.

Good to know I am not the only one suffering. So far it seems you have already reached into most of the options, I also thought about YouPost but the amount of work required not to mention the added costs, I don't think its worth it. I am just hoping that stocks arrive at the parallel imported sites and the price isn't too hefty. I wish us kiwis weren't discriminated by Google, they have a lot of potential customers here in NZ.

Im also waiting impatiently. I guess we just have to wait, New zealand is such a tiny market compared to other countries. Im keeping an eye out for overseas stores that will ship here to get stock

Ordered two via YouShop. I'm lucky, haven't received any of those delayed stock emails, but haven't received a shipping email either. I'll keep you updated if everything goes swell

Me too!!! We should hopefully know more about the price from the parallel imported stores in the next week or two. Google is potentilally missing out by not offering us (and other countries) these services (I guess it's us who ultimately miss out though)!. We may not have the biggest market, but we would be loyal! I'd also love to be able to buy my music from the playstore instead of itunes. I already have 4500 songs uploaded to google music in anticipation of having to downgrade storage on my phone from 16GB internal and 64GB external to the 16GB of the nexus 4, but I don't have the new phone to stream it on!

I'm a bit worried about the price because of what happened with the nexus 7,
I got all excited about a cheap tablet then it ends up being almost as much as an ipad.

Yeah, just a mastercard.. but still currently in "limbo"

So gutted that I didnt get mine. Had my sister in the US getting me one but said she kept getting errors. Guess I'm going to have to wait 2months or so before stock becomes stable enough.

We can only hope that we don't have to wait that long...my guess is we'll get a very limited supply through the parallel importers. The question will be, who is willing to pay the price they are asking....

I reckon you would be best to hold out for the nexus 4. If you're willing to wait a little bit longer then it looks like sony might actually be bringing out a flagship model that will compete directly with the iphone 5 and SGS3 while still being very compatible with the custom rom community...that being said, I know I don't want to wait and I'd love to get my hands on a nexus 4 tomorrow!...

Still no update in regards to availability in NZ...any new info to add guys? :banghead:

So I messaged LG and asked when they expected to be selling the device in NZ and the reply was they had no idea when or if they would be selling it here. That leaves this in the hands of parallel importers which will be random and pricey.
Started looking on eBay in US and Aus but it was all getting to hard but then as luck would have it I saw someone listing one on TradeMe for $735 and I just had to have it so I used the buy now lol I think this might end up being a good price for this device I just can't wait to get my hands on it.

Great stuff mate! I had a look there this morning and didn't see anything... otherwise I would have done that myself....

My 2 Nexus 4's just shipped to YouShop. Hopefully they come without any issues.

I think ill end up forking out for a parallel import for the sake of a warrantee

I think that'll be the only way I'll get my hands on one as well. Unless by some miracle they release more on the Aussie play store and i can get my brother to get one in time. I see in the Aussie thread some one reported that the bumpers were available again...I've already got a SGP screen protector on its way... just no phone to put it on right now

Tell me about it. My cousin is on standby to buy this phone for me. Only problem would be if stock runs out again or it doesnt ship to her by the 21 december for the flight back to nz. I will uterly pissed if either of those situations occur. I already gave her the money for it

Sorry i meant best buy. I normally buy my phones from best buy off contract because they give us the highest value for our phones. Currently the GS3 is worth 360$ plus 50 gift card sign up promotion they normally do in January plus an additional 50$ gift card for their trade in if you have their protection for a total of 460$ last i have them price match sprint which is 550$ meaning i only have to pay 90$ plus tax. anyone go this route? or simply upgrading?

My local best buy said 230 for s3 in new condition and 699.99 for the HTC and they will not price match for contract phones even tho I'm paying retail. How did you pull that deal?

Wait... what? If you're paying unsubsidized price for a phone, that's not considered a contract phone. You should show them their own policy.

I don't think ANY phones via trade-in will surpass the amount that you can get for them selling them individually. Best Buy provides that as a service to customers -- not so people can make money off trading phones in. I would strongly suggest just selling the S3 and buying the phone from Best Buy with the money that you obtain from the sale.

I called a few and they all say they will not price match phones at all. My problem is none of my sprint stores or the main sprint tele sales store will even sell me one unless I add a new line. I've gone to 3 stores in person and they all said it will be a month or so before they will sell the phone at retail price.

You might try asking after the 19th as well, as I know I was told they can't price match during pre-order. But once it's released for sure, they might be able to.

Its 340 not 360 my apologies. Heres a screen shot of the worth of the sprint gs3. But I have doing this since the 1st evo and have never had issues and is always able to get the latest and greatest. Plus my 2 my 50$ gift cards. 1 from a promotion they do in January. The second from having their protection plan and upgrading.

Thats not true. best buy is hurting because now they even price match amazon.com which they NEVER used to do. I dont know who you guys spoke to but its not true. i have receipts to show the last 2 years. i have had the EVO 4G, EVO 3D, Epic 4G touch black and white. EVO LTE, GS3 IN WHITE, THEN OPTIMUS G, GALAXY NOTE 2 THEN BACK TO THE GS3 IN PEBBLE BLUE. So trust me when i say its true. Call a store in atlanta and they will tell you the same. Im actually considering just using my upgrade and getting the additional 200$ on a gift card.

I'm not 100% sure but I remeber reading on the best buy price match policy that since they are now price matching online retailers one of the exclusions was mobile phones. Not sure if this was only for contract phones or all in general.

i would not suggest that as buying it out that early is quite expensive. if your within 2 months of your upgrade i believe its only 50$ and they add it to your bill no up front cost.

I'm not sure about price matching amazon's mobile phone but i know they will do sprints. what they will do is go on sprints website check the retail price and take it from there

I linked BB's price match policy above. It excludes contract mobile phones.

Wow, Blue s3 trade in is $340, the white one is $230. Crazy its such a difference!

now that i didnt know i used to have the white till i traded it for the optimus G. i think its because the blue is less common than the white. im the only one i know that has the blue. i know at least 15 people with gs3s maybe more and all of them have the white.

Yeah, I checked all the carriers s3's and they are all around 220-260. Only the Blue sprint model is that high

So I've just received a email saying my order was canceled because it was listed at the wrong price.
You can still get the 25% off price by calling your local best buy and order over the phone, ask them to match t-mobiles' price.

i checked for a best buy near me who had the galaxy gear in stock an ordered from them.
i called the best buy in newnan georgia.
i asked what i needed to give her in order to do the price match, she told me to bring a copy of my order checkout from t-mobile.
they rep i spoke to said they do price matches from major carriers; and i asked if they matched t-mobile.com price, which she did.
see me other attachment for my best buy receipt.

I had Best Buy price match last week. I have Verizon so i couldnt use it until yesterday anyways. I tossed it on eBay for 400 bucks for giggles. And sure enough it sold within a day. So I just had Best Buy price match a second one yesterday Made the 2nd one nearly free when factoring in the profit. :good:

My best buy still honored tmoble price match. Just got watch about an hour ago. Talked to manager straight off the bat and asked if they had watch. When he said yes I asked for price match and handed him tmoble price I printed off a few days ago. He said he's not suppose to but doesn't really care and he gave me the price. Got it for 209 plus tax.

The foursquare app gives you 30% accessories when you check in at certain tmobile stores. The Gear qualifies as an accessory. Try that if no luck at BB.

In Canada all major retail stores and all major carriers sold them last week for $99 brand new to liquidate remaining inventory. Bought and sold hours later for 170 US.

Got mine from bestbuy after two days, was pretty quick.
Rooted it, flashed TWRP and null_23 ROM, was able to install Gear Manager on my HTC One, but a few things don't work on it (weather, s voice, notifications...).
Need to play some more.

I received my shipping notice yesterday, but they are estimating delivery next Wednesday.

Anyone that got a hold of one of these for $99 willing to sell one? I will pay a little extra over the $99.

Best Buy refurb unit died in 24 hours!
Ordered $99 Galaxy Gear Refurb from Best Buy sale the other day 3/26. Delivered yesterday. 24 hours later.... "Camera has stopped error". Reset phone. No help. Returning to Best Buy.
Just ordered NEW ONE for $149 from Staples - price match Best Buy

Best deal I have seen in the US for the Gear. I got mine for $99 in Canada, but I also have to pay GSTs and shipping to the US.

@nviz22, keep in mind the one you got is brand new, while this one is refurbished. Though since its BB Geek Squad, these refurb'd units are most likely just customer returns.

Bought mine early this month from Best Buy for $100. refurb & $150 new.

All should know too that many times "refurbished" only means it was returned to the store without anything wrong with it. They cannot then sell it as "new", so they have to call the item refurbished. In the case of the Gear, where we heard it had a high return rate late last year, I would take advantage of an offer like this if you see it come up again.

Yeah, that's fine, but I am just saying that's been the best deal for the Gear in the US so far from what I have seen. It's a good value purchase at $130 anyways. For $300, the original price, not worth it. I chose the Gear 1 for the functionality and price. The Gear 2 only has a heart rate sensor and IR Blaster, which cannot vouch for a $200 price difference.

Could not pass up for $69.
Probably will sell it the instant the Moto watch comes out, but for now, it's a cheap toy!
