[Q] Configuring an APN - RAZR i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a problem, when iḿ going to configure the mobile data, i touch in APN and then i save it but it dissapear, the phone doesn´t save so i can´t use my 3g data
Any solution

Try different carrier sim card. If on another sim card your phone saves apn it means your card has problem with mnc and mcc codes and You need to change it for newer version.

Dont think so! If it works and the golden Chip is not broken your SIM is OK.
But did u use a custom Rom? There are custom roms with APN Problems!

I had this issue on Virgin Mobile. When I changed carrier to T-Mobile it's working flawlessly.

there is an APP on Stock rom: SIM toolkit (something with a SIM picture).
your provider should send you correct APN-Setting in an SMS after using this... try it.
and here is a thread about the config-file 'apns-conf.xml'. maybe it could help to save your APNs:

[Q] Diamond Can't Connect to Network!

Hi Guys!
This is my problem:
I have a htc diamond and I sim unlocked it a few months ago. Now i don't know why, i can't use any sim cards from different carriers.
If i use a Sim card of the original carrier, it works just fine. If i use a different card, it doesn't connect to network, and on the notification bar a number "1" appears!
I've tried re-unlocking the device several times, i even aquired an unlock code because it looked like the phone was sim locked again, but no use..it just doesn't connect to any network besides the original one!
Can anyone help me please?!
Thank you!

[Q]Unable to read my sim card after flashing

I have flashed my phone with the rom:
PDA: I9003ZHKC1-REV08-ALL-low-CL940719
Phone: MODEM_I9003ZHKB4_REV_00_CL908871.tar
CSC: GT-I9003-CSC-TGY.tar
(It's a Hong Kong rom)
after flashing my i9003, it can't read my sim card and i can only have an emergency call. How can i solve this problem? I have flashed it twice and still can't read the sim card.
Try again with XXKB3 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1004647

Did you backup your efs partition before your flash?
If your efs partition got messed up you may have lost your IMEI - If that is the case and you don't have backup -- your only option might be the samung service center..
There are some firmwares that work for specific countries. Usually when you end up using a sim that is not supported by that baseband firmware. it wont read obviously. Where are you from anyways and why flash a HK Firmware?
perhaps, you must try to put your company APN manually.

the phone not called, there is no network .. does not know the sim .. does not matter APNs.. no sim no apn
I'm not sure to understand, does your phone shows "SIM unfound" or a similar message?
If yes, double check that your SIM card is properly installed.
You can also check that another SIM card works on your phone.
I already saw some strange behavior with a defective SIM.
If not, the problem source can be you APN configuration or a bad flash.
Why do you want to downgrade to ICS?
This is very risky, you may brick your phone.

i have downgrade the phone to ics.. and here are the photos of the problem, the phone will not connect to GSM, and does not recognize the sim, and when I check with * # 06 # there is no imei
Ok, downgrading has probably messed up a few things.
I'm not confident with all this, I just can advice you to check those posts:

Not to blame you and no offense, but downgrading from JB to ICS is a really bad idea.

GT I9305 on Omni rom not recognizing UMTS sim cards

Long time omnirom user here with an issue I cannot find a fix for.
In my country there's a cell operator called RCS-RDS that has always had very good rates and unlimited 3g internet but, up until recently, very bad coverage. I have used 2 sim cards from this operator whenever I was in their coverage area for years now without a problem.
Last month RDS, has signed a national roaming agreement with VODAFONE so that you can use their network for service whenever you're outside RDS's coverage area. To use this national roaming service however, I had to replace the sim cards I had from RDS with new ones which, they say, operate in the UMTS 2100 band. I've checked the I9305's specs, and that band should be supported without a hitch.
Problem is however, that if I try to use either of the 2 sim cards, the phone gives me a no sim card error message and will behave as if there's no sim in the phone.
I'm using the radio recommended by mccamblesmith, the I9305 omni rom developer, in the omni rom development thread, and I have tried flashing every radio I could find, from the newest 4.4 radios to some very old 4.3 ones, but no change, and I've tested the two sim cards on other phones, including an S4, a beat up old Allview, an even older and more beat up Huawei U1220 and a 3G USB dongle, and both sims worked flawlessly on all of those.
I've also tried getting help on omnirom's irc channel, but the place is dead.

i understand the issue here, but dont know how to fix it easiest way without loosing all your data and personal stuff etc.
it seems the issue is not modem related but i think its related with the roms settings you applied but dont know what exactly. all i can say is make a nandroid backup to external sd of current rom and flash back your official stock firmware with odin, root and install recovery and flash omni again, then try the sim cards again. if it does not work you can always restore the nandroid backup from recovery.
i hope this helps

well you can always make a nandroid backup at any time in recovery mode, you know that right? cant tell if changing CFW will help but you can try it..
Edit: if i were you, i would make backup and put anything else important in internal or external sd to my pc temporary and wipe everything system/caches/dalvik/internal memory and then flash another custom rom or flash back omni again

Phone can not register in GSM network even after SIM unlock (QPST Backup needed)

Hello! I need some help with my HTC One M8 Sprint.
Im from Russia, phone work well about 2 years with full gsm network support.
After turn off due batery disharge SIM Locked again. I flash Sense rom and make sim unlock but my phone unable to conect to the my operator network.
I read here that sometimes GSM bands can be reset. I install QPST, made a backup of NVRAM and folow this instruction https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-htc-one-m8/general/enabling-3g-umts-countries-t2847461.
After this my phone start to see Russian mobile operators, but can not register on them.
I tried chage my SIM card and tried SIM card of another operator, dont work. Just cant register in network.
I think that in addition to the band something else reset in the radio module firmware.
I put the phone in the service center, but the diagnostic for mechanical damage did not give any results, everything is fine.
I attach all avaible info from DFS app and fastboot and proof that my phone scaning networks, maybe someone can help.
If anyone has a backup of NVRAM, please, chare it with me so i can compare parameters.
OK I will try to help you, I'm currently busy. For now hide the picture with your imei.
BTW which ROM are you using?

Ok, I started from the beginning.
Flash 4.25.651.14 firmware.
Install 4.25.651.14 RUU.
In this tread some guy said that he cannot connect to the network on MM RUU and 4.25.651.14 RUU helped him.
Make Factory Reset in fastboot and radio reset through the command ##786#.
Then I make SIM Unlock with this method.
Intall InserctCoin ROM that figure in instruction and go on. SIM unlocked sucessful and GSM operators became available when scanning.
But still can not connect to the network
