Ok so has anyone experienced the keyboard overlapping the text input field when using the browser so that you can't see what your typing? It also doesn't let you scroll the screen either... I have found a few things on other forums which require you to edit manifest files etc but surely this issue still isn't a widespread android issue, please correct me if I'm wrong?

When I install the keypad I get something really weird and unwanted when I want to write a new text message.
Without the keyboard installed I can write the first couple of letters of a contact and it will give me a list of contacts that match that set of letters. however once the touch keyboard is installed I just get its own autocomplete kick in... even when I submit the letters the contact popup doesn't come up?
Does anyone know a way of keeping the contact functionality and the keyboard at the same time?
I've tried disabling XT9 reg file in one of duttys threads, still no joy
Yeah the exact same thing happened on mine and unfortunatley i couldnt find a solution either and eneded up removing it from the device, this being a real shame cause it was very useful specially for texting one handed.
A part solution is to send new text, use touch keyboard to enter first couple letters like you would before then menu / check names it should then bring up a list of ones that partially match, bit long winded though.
Anyone else found a solution to this?
Anyone found a solution to this? I'd love to be able to use the htc pad...!
can anyone recommend a better input thing that will preserve the mentioned function?
I just press the 'to ' text yo the left and use the list , tis fairly fast -- but now I must go as my battery is almost dead!
Its quicker to just to press a letter
Can't anyone think of a fix!!?
Can I just use the sip file or something from the cab?
I've found a cab to disable the XT9 and it means that you can press a letter and it will come up with contacts matching the letter... however it messes up the touch keypad and board.. they both just display all the letters and numbers. :/
so, where is the cab file then ?
Hmmm I think i saw the cab file somewhere
For some reason now, I cant get the letter keys on the touch keyboard to be displayed. I tried searching all over for a possible solution, but I couldnt find anything. If anybody to help me out with this, id appreciate it.
anybody? This has been bugging me and was wondering if anybody was experiencing the same thing...
so reading around a bit, it turns out that the disable xt9 cab messes up the touch keyboard...
is there a way to fix this problem?
I would really like to use the touch keyboard and this is a bummer
Try maybe uninstalling the xt9 cab and soft reset... see what happens

I think you mean numerals or numbers. Never heard of numericals.

I tried doing some searches before asking but I could not find a solution that worked for me so hear goes.
With the phone is tilted I can not see any of the letters I am typing on the input fields. This problem seems to be only related to Internet Explorer as I have skyfire and it works fine with that. Its as if the font color is white and so is the background color thus making the letters seem invisible on the input field. When the phone is not tilted there is no problem.
anyone have any clue what setting is causing this and how to fix it?
TIA....
Kaiser Tweak
Hi
You should use Kaiser tweak http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333898, disabling Clear Type fonts in IE. This will fix the problem

heya,
NB: Replace the text "REPLACE" with http and www, and the text "REPLACE2" with just http. As a sidenote, if a mod sees this, can they please verify my account - getting annoying not being able to post links...lol. Thanks.
I'm on Froyo 2.2 (well, the test image that's out) on a Nexus One.
I read about the new swipe for number bad feature here:
REPLACE.androidcentral.com/froyo-feature-better-stock-android-keyboard
However, it seems intermittently unrealiable on mine, particularly when I use it in Messaging. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Has anybody else noticed that? Any tips to get it to always trigger?
Also, I read that in 2.1 you could trigger voice input by swiping left-to-right.
REPLACE.androidcentral.com/quick-tip-swipe-keyboard-bring-voice-input-21
I can't seem to get this working in 2.2 at all (and I've never used 2.1). Has anybody else got this working? If so, any particular tips I could check? (I've tried both having the Mic button on main keyboard and symbols keyboard, neither made a difference).
Other people seem to report something similar, just not sure if this is verified, or how common the issue is?

I do find the Android keyboard a little weird and inaccurate, probably just still getting used to it (only day 3).
Cheers,

When selecting input text fields in Flash applications no keyboard appears when I try. Since I cannot seem to find anyone else with the same complaint I'm unsure if it could be an issue specific to my configuration somehow. I'm using JPC, and have replaced Swype to get Swedish keyboard support.
Anyone noticed the same issue, or have a second to test it out?
Here is a page containing a basic swf with a input text field in flash:
http://www.ghostwire.com/blog/archives/as3-simple-editor-for-loading-and-saving-xml-as-binary/
Scroll down a little bit, below the text "(480×480 SWF, 2KB)" you will see an swf, provided that you are running a froyo firmware with the Flash Player.
When the swf has loaded, you'll see a large grey box which is an input text field. Touch it and the keyboard should open.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Hi... I have a "similar" issue to this but am not sure exactly how related they are. I am still on 2.1 so I dont have 10.1 flash player but I get the same issue when I am on facebook using the "Skyfire" browser.
If I am trying to leave a comment on someones status for example, I can click on the text bubble and the keyboard pops up but as soon as I enter a letter the keyboard goes away and when I try to tap the text bubble again I get no keyboard at all.
Again, this souns similar and I know that skyfire is in beta still but if this is the same sort of problem you are having then I'd love for someone to explain why this is happening.
Anyone have any ideas?
When searching for anyone else with similar issues I saw that it happens to skyfire users, but I think that is unrelated. Skyfire is streaming flash content played back at their server to your device, and hence has some issues with interaction that is not related to the Flash Player as such.
If there is a way for them to open the keyboard when a text field in flash content becomes focused they probably have not got around to do that yet. They claim that their main focus is video playback, and I bet that it can be tricky to get all interactivity right.
Flash Player 10.1 should open the keyboard when a text filed is focused according to the specifications from Adobe, and considering that I don't manage to anyone complaining about issues with that I'm wondering if that is an issue unique to the Galaxy S, or even my device due to configuration issues.
If someone has a second to try the link in the OP it would really be appreciated.

I got the same issue, but found a workaround by place the cursor onto the text field, and then long press "menu" button.
Make sure the flash is not running in full screen mode.
Not a perfect solution, but at least it works.
