Sony Xperia TX - CWM problems - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Hello everyone,
Well, I have Sony Xperia TX for 2 days now. I've read on several forums that it supports JB 4.3. However, when I go to update it, it says my OS is up to date and I'm running ICS 4.0.4. Can't really understand that.
Other problem is whenever I try to install CWM it says it's installed and when I reboot my phone and try to enter it (consistently tapping volume down key) it just boots the phone normally, no cwm no nothing. I've tried multiple solutions and I'm still stuck at the start. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.
Cheers!

Try updating usin Sony Update Service.

Already did, still says it's up to date.

I've flashed 4.3 via Flashtool and it couldn't start at all. Just vibrates once and that's all. Now I can't start it at all lol. Why it doesn't support 4.3 when it's officially said it can. I'm going nuts over here!

[Q] Stuck on Sony logo

Hi guys
I tried changing the 3 icons down the bottom and it all went horribly wrong. Basically I'm stuck at the phone booting onto the Sony sign and just staying on that.
I have read and read and read and this is a last resort. I've downloaded the Flashtool and ftf for Three Uk handset but flashtool starts and I am met by the error - No loader found for this device.
Any help guys?
Thanks
Did you make a backup in CWM before you flashed the navbar mod?

Hi Adam thanks for the reply. I know this is a schoolboy error but no I didn't. I didn't have CWM installed, my bootloader is locked but I had root so managed to install TWRP but like an idiot didn't make a backup.
I was confident the flashtool would fix but I'm getting this "no loader found" error message.

Yes there is the one in my sig. It's a beta version but it works really well and have used many times on my XZ. Maybe you can use that to flash back to stock and get out of being stuck on the Sony logo.
I know it's a pain but since you don't have any backup and stuck at the logo, you have nothing to lose.

[Q] need fastbootable recovery. remote:command not allo

Here it is. Got my buddies c6606 us T-Mobile. Rooted fine, recovery went fine, but rom flash boot loops. And the best part is I cant get into recovery. So im stuck with fastboot, which gives me the same errors everytime, or flashmode with flashtool which I can put 100 fw's in the firmware folder and only a.1.253 shows up. Really need a.2.66 or 166 but I download them , place them in firmware folder with others and they're not there. My S3 is a dream compared to this. Takes me back to my HTC days! Anyway, I know its something small, its on .253 with some random rom asking for .66 or .67. Please, I'll pay. This is tying up my J-Tag repairs and other devices. Please, someone. I'll try whatever.
P.S. locked bootloader, apparently not unlockable.
Just flash to stock with Sony Update Service. And try again.
It is pretty hard to wreck a locked bootleader device.

Just tried it and thought it was going to go but then gave an error saying "no software for this device". It says I need the fw x.xx.x.166 but I haven't been able to find the download for it. I hate little crap that kicks my but. If I could just get a recovery on it or a boot.img to flash I feel i'd be in the clear. I know its something small.

I knew it would be something small. Just Googled Official Sony Xperia Firmware and took me to a site with all the firmware (stock) you could ever need. It actually showed up in flashtool after moving to firmware folder and vioala! Rerooted, flashed recovery, flashed new Xistenz (I think that's how its spelled) and its running like a champ. Customer (my buddy) is happy. PM me if your ever in the same boat and ill help you through it. This was my first Sony device to do and it was a good learning experience. Adding it to my repertoire!

Weird. SUS or Companion should provide you with the latest stock firm without having the need to look for it.
Glad you could solve it. Xperia family has some great tools to toy around.

Sorry i got a message to you too late.
one thing: if you flashed over a different firmware, like for a 6603 or 6602 the sony software often says there is no update for your device because it sees it as a different phone.
The firmwares that you are placing in the /firmware folder are. Ftf files, and around 700mb? You can find firmware for download that comes in a different format, but flashtool wont see them.

Afaik installing busybox on stock kernel-based roms softbricks the device (though it's apparently not a kernel issue). Try repairing via pcc.

What? No. You won't unlock the bootloader.
Just read the instructions carefully.

Xperia Z c6603 4.4.2 advice needed

Hi.
I recently bought myself the xperia z to play with, I don't have a computer so couldn't root it how I'm used to doing it (I'm not new to rooting, custom roms and kernels etc)
So yeah, like a fool I updated it to 4.4.2 without thinking, and it's mega and I mean MEGA slow!
I wasn't to test roms and kernels on it, but for love nor money, it will not go into recovery mode, searched Google, tried all recommended ways but nothing, just boots up normal :annoying:
I've rooted it with towelroot, which was successful, installed SU and BusyBox etc. Tried using rom manager to get a recover installed but just says there isn't one available :-/
Also tried flashify but again, nothing, just crashes after a few mins of what I presume it is searching.
Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong please? All help would be massively appreciated.

Maybe you are new to sony devices because these devices do not have a separate partition for recovery.
Try THIS for TWRP
AND
Is it really that slow compared to 4.2.2 ??
Oh do they not? Google has mislead me then. Yes I'm fairly new to sonys, owned a few but never before rooted etc.
And yes, it is ridiculously slow, I have to reboot it like every 30 mins since updating from 4.3.
Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated

Okay, so I read through all the info withing the link you gave me, from my understanding, I can't add a recovery as I don't have a computer to do so?
I've read on other sites that you can flash then manually through stock recovery, evidently not though :-/

You don't need a PC.
Just download XZRecovery.apk from the link I gave you and install it on your phone.
Open XZRecovery app on phone and then click 'install recovery '
Thats it. Done you have recovery.
Sony phones don't come with stock recovery at all.
And yes I just updated to 4.4.4, the phone just lags alot lot.
Tried that and it failed, also, my phone will not boot now, just keeps on vibrating, from experience I think its to do with the kernel, but no computer to fix it

[Q] Xperia T Dead

Hey guys. I was trying to install Cm10 on my sister's xperia T. I rooted it, installed recovery, wiped everything but after I flashed CM and clicked reboot, the phone is dead. I can't turn it on, I can't enter recovery mode, the PC isn't recognising it. If I push the on/off button it vibrates once but then nothing and if I push at the same time power on and volume up, it vibrates three times but then again nothing.
I know I forgot to do something while installing the ROM but please any piece of help might be extremely useful as I ended up with a dead phone and nothing I can do.

Did you unlock the phone's bootloader? Because custom roms like cyanogenmod require an unlocked bootloader for xperia phones. Also, try using the flashtool to revive your phone. This sounds pretty much like a soft brick. If I'm right, it's 100% guarandeed you can bring the phone back to life.

Also, you should really figure out if your bootloader is unlocked or not.

Are there other errors above the ones seen there?
What ROM did you Flash? Maybe you could try with ones found here on XDA.
Also, when you start up the FlashMode process in Flashtools, is your phone already connected?

Yes it was a problem caused by the ROM I was trying to install. I found one with stock 4.0.4 and flashed it and finally it came back to life.
And in fact it is faster than when it was running 4.3.3

Guess what: if you don't like the 4.04, you can find official 4.3 firmware files in this site. There's a collection of these things. Just search for them.

Thanks for the tip. In fact I'll make another effort to install CM and this time I'll make sure to follow every step properly. But comparing the two editions, I think 4.0 is smoother than 4.3.
