Hi all
I have a GT-S6500 , initially it had the Branded Firmware AILD2 Italy TIM , after i installed the Firmware version XXLD2 and the Peter's Rom , everything has gone perfectly for several months until it went in bootloop.
So i installed the last firmware the XXLK2 ITA version , all works expect the wifi , at boot does not start and if i try to activate it says "Error the wifi cannot be activated ".
I reinstalled the last Branded Italy Tim firmware the AIMD3 , but it shows the same error , so i tried with XXLD2 ....same error :crying: , again I tried the XXLD2 and fater the XXLK2 with cyanogemod 10.1 , 10.2 and 11 but nothing changes.
Would you suggest any advice ? I do not Know how to do.:crying: , any info would be grateful .
Thanks Bye Bye
Sorry for my bad english
Any advice? :crying:
go back to stock rom and stock firmware , if you don't have a working wifi then = hardware problem.
keep it simple

Not entirely true on hardware problem. Might be a (config?) mismatch, I have encountered something similar as well.
When I went from stock to TheWhisp' CM11-nightly build.
After you've flashed a build (be it stock or TheWhisp' build), have you tried putting it back to factory settings in recovery yet?

Ofc he has to fac reset when he goes back to stock rom ..
I have the same problem with the squadzone OC kernel .. I will get this problem if I use the LK2E firmware series and the latest firmwares .. but It works perfectly with DXLD1 ..
just saying ..
it happens because you updated the kernel, it now has a slightly different version string which doesn't match the wifi module's, and it [the module] gets tainted (= cannot be loaded)

Hi guys,
I'm sorry for my english...
I had a galaxy S i 9000 with froyo (I suppose).
I was trying tu update my phone with cyanogen or miui but now the phone is always on "NO SERVICE"...there's always no signal and I can't call or send sms or connect to internet by 3g.
I've tried
miui rom stable
miui rom developer
cyanogen nightly
cyanogen stable
but "NO SERVICE" is still here!
Now I'm trying to get back to my previous rom, the problem is that the only information that I have is this screenshot (I can't post it because I'm a new user...) that says "Versione firmware corrente: PDA:JM2 / PHONE:JM1 / CSC:JM2 (TMN)"
I suppose it's froyo but I'm not sure...
Searching with google seems that my galaxy is a portughese version!
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks a lot!
Same thing happened to me, try this for me:
Go into Settings -> About Phone -> Baseband Version
What does it say? I previously had this problem a few times because somehow my Baseband would get screwed up mostly from improper flashing.
I can suggest you flash one of the JVT stock roms and it should come back. That usually fixes it for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1289875
Try this one and flash it via odin.
Well on baseband says I9000XXJVO...
Now I'm downloading the ROM you've linked, I hope to resolve!
Thank you!
Hmmm okay, well try and see if it works, hopefully it does
Doesn't work with the ROM you've linked...
I can't understand how to get out from this problem!
Bohoooooo!
Well no way to get out from this problem...
Now I will try every ROM I'm able to find... Am I right?

I have had this issue a few times coming from Stock roms to CM based roms such as MIUI and Cyanogenmod.
the solution i have found is to:
Install Stock and a decent Kernel.
wipe Data/Factory reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik
install CM/MIUI
if still no signal/ and no IMEI shows in your phone settings try flashing a modem from CWM.
you can find a list of flashable Modems here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158783
Question?
Do you get "no Signal" when you flash a stock rom (Such as JVT)
STOCK Rom Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1289875
if you dont get any signal with stock, have you tried flashing an earlier stock rom with an earlier modem?
sammobile.com has an extensive list of stock roms.
from what i can see there is a JM5 rom on there which may be the closest your going to get to your "Phone:JM5" modem.
hope that helps.
I solved the problem flashing a modem!
Thanks so much Danh2009!!!
Thank you everybody!

I did it using *#*#2663#*#* and it failed.
I think I need flash a rom with the touchscreen firmware inside, but I don't know where I can find it.
Sorry for my english.
I think that is better if you flash the stock firmware and bring the device to a service center, that would be easier
Problem solved!
With Chocobread installed, I used Androidscreencast (Search for it on google) to handle my gmini and update the touchscreen firmware again.
Thank you!

Hi,
I updated my cm kang today and everything was working fine. I rebooted my phone and my battery percentage went from 4% to 100%. and it's stuck on it.
When i put the percentage mod of in CM7 i see a battery icon with "?" in it.
I tryed the following things:
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Wipe Battery Stats
Fix Permission
Installed a older kang but nothing worked.
I searched on google and some people fixed this problem by getting a new battery.
Has anybody else had this problem?
Thanks
100% without charging forever. its my dream
I've had the same problem. Check baseband and RIL. Try to use program "GetRIL" [market] and check is your baseband and RIL are the same. If not then you can download 'recomended' RIL and reboot.
Zde žil tapatolúček
Thanks, i restarted my phone and now the market is gone, baseband is unknown. A reinstall of the rom,and wiping everything, reinstall of baseband didn't work.
I'm gonna install the stock rom tommorow using smartflash. Hope that works

changes on IMEI ? *#06# ?
if you lost your IMEI try this LINK
Infinite power!!!!!
Baseband is always the same, no matter what rom you install BUT when you are changing a rom then "RIL" can change and that's why your problem was created after you install a new kang.
Now my baseband is 824 and its the best I've ever had. Good luck.

You have flashed a gb ril in cm7. Cm7 supports only froyo ril.
In fact if you don't do that, the rom is unable to read battery voltage and baseband version.

Then I flashed cm7 and the problem vanished. Although when I reverted to stock the error was back

Maybe the baseband is a problem. Try a different baseband and see. Since you are telling that wifi works in cm7, maybe there is a problem with your stock rom.

Can't turn on Wifi and Blueetooth, gives error
Hi, I just purchased a samsung galaxy ace gt s5830 that came from korea. The phone was initially working fine and had 2.2.1 froyo running on it. But this set did't allow more than 80 characters in text message and converted into an mms. I thought I should updgrade it to gingerbread so I downloaded gingerbread 2.3.6 and upgraded the phone via Odin. Since then, my wifi and bluetooth don't work. when i try to turn on the wifi, it says "Error". I have tried all possible solutions but was never successful. tried those codes like *#526*, *$528* and many other codes but no use. I also thought of going back to froyo 2.2.1 and downloaded a stock rom and flashed it but still the same error.
Now can anyone suggest a solution here so that either I can revert to the korean firmware (since I can't find one for korean region) or I can fix the wifi and blutooth error.
Please Please help!!! I purchased it to present it to my wife on her birthday but now its all messy
any of u try updating to 2.3.6

i cannot get into recovery mode.
but i success enter downloading mode..
any way i can flash ics cm9 with downloading mode?
again i searched with no success.

Try flashing a kernel which had odin support which will allow you to go in the recovery and then flash the cm9 from there.

I'm getting a problem which seems similar to this one.
About a year ago or more the phone started randomly turning itself off if I was using it or not. Gradually the problem started happening less and less and then stopped altogether until now when the problem has cropped up again.
And sometimes it won't immediately turn back on when pressing the power button either. I need to leave it alone for a while and on trying again it works. I have tried clearing the dalvik cache and switching between different baseband versions.
And then I tried a full wipe and upgrade. It was working nicely for a few hours and then cut off again
