During the night, my Sony Xperia SP was charging. I began charging at 1:30am and i fell asleep after that. I woke up at around 8:20am and pressed the power button to turn on the screen. It did not turn on, and then i noticed the phone was turned off. I powered it on and the battery was at 100%, however i thought it was strange that the phone was turned off because i had left it on overnight. I checked my battery stats on Battery Widget Reborn (The Android battery stats, GSam and Better battery stats showed no data because it was all erased as the phone turned off) and found out that my phone had completely, after being fully charged, drained 100% of battery in just a few minutes. This is the first time it had happened, and i had bought this phone only about 2 months ago. I had not left any processes/apps running, even so, the battery should not have been draining this quickly. The drain from 100% happened from about 4:18am until 4:20am.
What would have been the cause of this battery drain?
Has this ever happened to your phone, and is this problem unique to Sony Xperia phones? I have heard that Sony phones have very bad battery optimisation and battery life.

First of all, sony phones have great battery lifes. I know that because of my experience with xperia phones (mine and friends' ones, too). Personally, I passed through an xperia tipo and now I have an sp, so they DO have great battery lifes. As for your problem, I think it's the battery stats that cause it. If you'd be able to take off the battery (youtube might have such tutorials) for at least 10-15 seconds and put it back on, it may solve the problem (taking off the battery for such a time is similar to "wipe battery stats" command in recoveries). Alternatively, you can install a recovery (e.g. c.w.m.) and wipe the battery stats. If the battery keeps draining like crazy, I'm afraid it's time you went your phone to a service center so they'll replace it with a new one.

I'm worrying about my battery. The main thing is, it drains really fast. In flight mode and nothing else on it drains like 2% each hour. So overnight, most of the time it drains like 16%. Today i started with 100% in the morning. Used GPS for 1 hour, made a phonecall for 20mins in total time. My battery indicator said there was 30% left :/ I know this thing eats batteries, but this is insane. Because i noticed an incorrect display of the battery the last few days i gave it a soft reset. After the reset i saw the battery had only 4% left, not even 30%, but 4! :|
Many times when the phone is saying i have 'insert number' percentage of battery left it's incorrect. Because when i give it a soft reset, it changes the number. Sometimes i get more percentage back, and sometimes it drops.
One hour ago i plugged it on the charger, checked 45min ago, and it was still on 31% battery :| Then, like 10min later i suddenly saw a green light from my phone and it was full.
I've never had a device with a broken battery and i don't know the symptoms, but is this normal or is it likely that my battery is dying?
A little kick!
I let my phone run down to 16% and I was planning to let it go to 10% before plugging it in to charge.
At 16% I was on wifi and browsing websites when it just turned the screen off, made a warning sound and flashed the red battery light. After about 3 sec it started vibrating non stop which made me think of the 'discharge' feature on some phones, (which quickly uses/discharges the battery..), I didn't want it to go to 0% so I pressed (tapped not held) the power button which seemed to turn it off. I turned it back on, plugged in, and it booted up showing 0% batt.
My question is, has anyone come across this before? Should the batt % be this incorrect? and why did it vibrate..
My phone has been frequently below 15% without problems (yes, it's not very good for the battery, I know). It should vibrate once when it hits 15% and display the charge message, but that's it.
Happened once though that my battery discharged from 50% to 0 in literally 1 second, don't know what happened then, but it hasn't happened again.
Sounds like either your battery shorted or the calibration on battery % was way off on your phone. Try charging it to full and see what happens the next time you reach 16%, it might've fixed itself.
The other day my Nexus turned off at 11% :/
wipe battery stats after a full charge.. guess that will solve the problem
this isnt just a froyo issue, i am still on 2.1 and my battery dies at 8% EVERY time. it turns off, and when i turn it back on, it shows 0% but it died at 8%. its been this way the entire time i've owned the nexus. i'm not rooted so i never wiped the battery log files yet....but i will soon enough.
Ya my phone dies at 20% everytime. I just ordered a new one though

do that.
On 2.1 my N1, first my N1 had its multitouch laggy starting at 15%, then after some day of uses it shuts down at 1%.
Your battery just need to be calibrate.
Hi guys, I've a problem with my one.
Sometimes the battery percentage get stuck on a value for a long time, even if I keep stuff running (that usually drains battery). Tonight happened again in such a strange way..
The phone turned off yesterday evening at 0%, so I plugged in, turned on the phone, used another bit and than setted in plane mode so I went to sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night and noticed the green light so i took the opportunity to pull the plug (to avoid overcharge). This morning i notice battery percentage at 77% and battery stats with no app activity with cronology time on 32mins (I pulled the plug 4/5 hours before). Now I'm using the phone from more then an hour and it's still at 77%.
Is this an hardware or a software problem? I have stock rom update to lollipop version.
Do you know how can I try to solve this?
Also if i leave the phone unplugged at night it battery drops down 4/5% and in the battery stat i can see "standby 100%" with 100% of the time "without signal".. in the battery cronology wifi bar looks always active
Hi I rooted my phone a few weeks ago hoping fir better battery and performance when needed but every since tge battery calibration has been messed up, for example earlier I was using my phone to music through ear phones and looking through Facebook (using 4g) it said I had 73% battery left but then died, phone was charged to 100% over night and only had about 35 mins of actual on screen time.
Ive tried many different battery calibration apps but none work.
Sometimes when the battery completely discharges and turns off and I plug in the charger it wilk give me the actual battery % but when I turn on the phone it will say 40% even though its actually only 12%
Should I use a different rom? Can someone recommend me one for my c6903 please
Hi Fellas,
I had this Sony xperia z3 compact tablet that i bought from swappa earlier this year. It came working and in perfect cosmetic condition but after about 2 months of usage the battery started draining out very easily to the point that the tablet can be 65% charged and the next moment it's shutting down. Lately it got worse as it shuts down even when the battery is 85% charged. I've contacted the seller and sony nd nothing helpful came out from them. I need help on how to get this battery issue fixed so that i can enjoy my tablet like the early days. It's running android 6.0. Thanks
Having a similar problem with my xperia z3.
dont understand what's happening with my phone. Have old Xperia Z3 D6603 (running android 6.0 marshmallow).
Had problems with battery since it was not lasting even 5 minutes so bought a new battery from ebay and installed it yesterday.
So first time I put it to my phone it showed that it had 70% of charge. I've read in battery description that I have to discharge the battery and recharge 3 times.
First time I wanted to discharge from 70% to 1% and with a battery discharge app + youtube 1080p videos + wifi signal it took only around 1 hour and phone was at 1%. From 1% till complete discharge it took me extra hour and then phone died.
I plugged it to charge and after 15 minutes it showed that battery now is at 100% (which is insane, it should take 2-3hrs to charge it up to 100%). So I charget it for 2-3 hrs ignoring that it said 100% already.
I discharget it from 100% to 1% in 1 hour and now again phone is stuck at 1% and it took me 2 more hours to discharge phone until battery died completely.
I don't believe that this behaviour will fix itself. How can I fix this problem so that battery percentage would be distributed evenly? Now it drops from 100% to 1% in 1hr and then from 1% to 0% in 2 hrs.
