Broken battery problem? Fast drains and incorrect capacity display - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I'm worrying about my battery. The main thing is, it drains really fast. In flight mode and nothing else on it drains like 2% each hour. So overnight, most of the time it drains like 16%. Today i started with 100% in the morning. Used GPS for 1 hour, made a phonecall for 20mins in total time. My battery indicator said there was 30% left :/ I know this thing eats batteries, but this is insane. Because i noticed an incorrect display of the battery the last few days i gave it a soft reset. After the reset i saw the battery had only 4% left, not even 30%, but 4! :|
Many times when the phone is saying i have 'insert number' percentage of battery left it's incorrect. Because when i give it a soft reset, it changes the number. Sometimes i get more percentage back, and sometimes it drops.
One hour ago i plugged it on the charger, checked 45min ago, and it was still on 31% battery :| Then, like 10min later i suddenly saw a green light from my phone and it was full.
I've never had a device with a broken battery and i don't know the symptoms, but is this normal or is it likely that my battery is dying?

A little kick!

Battery Charge Issue

This might have been answered somewhere, but i couldn't find.
My kaiser takes an hour atleast to get to 67% battery level on the power adaptor and as soon as it reaches that level it takes just 5 min to get to 100%. This is very strange. I performed a Radio upgrade to 1.70.19.09 a day before. But this is strange?
The battery status app starts with whopping +600mA of charging current on a 0% charge and drops to 100mA at 50% charged and to +53mA when it is around 67% and then in some time it says 100% with a charging current of +53mA.

Have you tried changing the radio back? To see if that affects anything?
Is your battery life normal? Does the same happen if you let the battery discharge once and charge it again? Changing the radio could have reset the battery meter calibration and it's just finding its way again.

Do you mean to say that i should give a few recharge cycles( a week may be) and this should be resolved?
Run the battery down completely once until the device turns off, that will also allow you to see if you have normal battery life, then recharge fully. Once is enough.

Doesnt work. I completely discharged my kaiser such that it switched off automatically. Recharged to 67% and then shortly 100%. i dont see 70-80-90% charges.
Once it switches off, remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, put it back in, turn on again. If the phone still says low batt and turns off again then your battery is really empty. If not the calibration is really off, run down again until it's really empty, then recharge without interruption until you get the green LED.
You didn't say if your battery life was normal.
same problem here
I have experienced the same issue. Battery is less than 60% and suddenly it reaches 100% (in a couple of minutes). My battery life seems actually very short to me but I must say I started using HSDPA the last week (my carrier finally offered it) and off course my battery lasts much less than before, so it could be just an impression. I flashed hyperdragon III Blackstone (nov 1st) last weekend and the radio is 1.65.24.36.
Just to give you an example, this morning I was listening to streaming radio over HSDPA and battery dropped from 100% to 40% in 50 minutes (screen was off all the time)
So I will try to empty my battery completely and charge it again. I´ll report after that.

Froyo battery % incorrect?

I let my phone run down to 16% and I was planning to let it go to 10% before plugging it in to charge.
At 16% I was on wifi and browsing websites when it just turned the screen off, made a warning sound and flashed the red battery light. After about 3 sec it started vibrating non stop which made me think of the 'discharge' feature on some phones, (which quickly uses/discharges the battery..), I didn't want it to go to 0% so I pressed (tapped not held) the power button which seemed to turn it off. I turned it back on, plugged in, and it booted up showing 0% batt.
My question is, has anyone come across this before? Should the batt % be this incorrect? and why did it vibrate..
My phone has been frequently below 15% without problems (yes, it's not very good for the battery, I know). It should vibrate once when it hits 15% and display the charge message, but that's it.
Happened once though that my battery discharged from 50% to 0 in literally 1 second, don't know what happened then, but it hasn't happened again.
Sounds like either your battery shorted or the calibration on battery % was way off on your phone. Try charging it to full and see what happens the next time you reach 16%, it might've fixed itself.
The other day my Nexus turned off at 11% :/
wipe battery stats after a full charge.. guess that will solve the problem
this isnt just a froyo issue, i am still on 2.1 and my battery dies at 8% EVERY time. it turns off, and when i turn it back on, it shows 0% but it died at 8%. its been this way the entire time i've owned the nexus. i'm not rooted so i never wiped the battery log files yet....but i will soon enough.
Ya my phone dies at 20% everytime. I just ordered a new one though

do that.
On 2.1 my N1, first my N1 had its multitouch laggy starting at 15%, then after some day of uses it shuts down at 1%.
Your battery just need to be calibrate.

Battery issue???

I think I might have a problem with my battery, but I'm not sure. I had it on the charger for 12 hours. So the battery should be full. When I took it off the charger, the status bar indicated that it had dropped down a notch. Is this normal? I was expecting the battery indicator to be fully shaded in white.
Ok. So I restarted the phone. Now the battery indicator is showing that it's completely full. Hmmm.
This happened to me too today. I'll try a reboot...
Sent from my HD7 using Board Express
Please remember that your battery needs some time to kick in and settle before you'll get full charges/power and correct indicators. If you just got your phone on Monday, wait about a week, and your phone should last longer and display more accurate approximation of battery life.
If it has been much past a week though, and your battery life is still significantly poor, then it may be your battery, device, or how you have the system configured.
I've commented on this a few times before, the same thing happens to me.
Its obviously a bug with the OS or something as I am now on my second HD7 and it does exactly the same.
let the phone battery drain out then let the phone charge completely with out using it. You will see a huge improvement on your battery life and the phone will charge alot quicker. That will also fix the battery indicator bug.
Ariel is right.
Remember for best optimization of any battery is when u use it 0% to 100% and then let is drain to 0% again.
i have the phone since a week with 5 charges i am not happy YET with the battery. Hope it opens up as ppl are saing.
I forced my battery dry a couple of times between charges using the HTC Flashlight app.
Run the app on maximum beam (you might have to wake it up every now and again) and the battery drains very quickly. I turned on wifi and set some music playing as well for good measure.
Then charge using the supplied charger rather than a PC USB connection. I'm not sure if that's meant to make a difference but mine charges up much faster that way.
Charging your phone through USB to PC always takes longer then using the charger
I'm getting about 15 hours of battery per charge. That's with moderate use (text messages, e-mail web browsing, a couple phone calls). This is MUCH better than when I first got my HD2. The battery would drain about 1% every 3 minutes. It was absurd. I'm pretty content with the battery life thus far. Windows Phone 7 is such a pleasure to use.
friend has an evo and he's trying to sell ot to get an hd7 lmao

I got the HTC Surround and I noticed the same thing. After coming off a full charge (the whole night) I loose what looks like 5% of the charge within the first 5 minutes. Sometimes it's after as much as replying to a text.
Hopefully the battery has to 'settle in', as others have suggested.

HD7 battery calibration

I don't know if it's the OS or my battery, but the battery indicator at the top right corner is often incorrect. More than a day has passed and it's at 75% still which is impossible after 2 months of owning it. I expect to get the "battery low" message soon despite what the OS is reporting at the top right corner
Anyone else with such issues?
actually its hard to gauge if the indicator is working correctly at all.....
I once fully drained the battery and waited for a few hours, recharged it to full, and let to drain to 1% and full again. on that day , i had a huge improvement in battery life.
the trick is to leave it fully frained a few hours

Battery charging issues.

Hello, I'm encountering a weird issue with my phone.
It seems to be happening when I don't fully charge the phone, even though it's kinda random.
The issue is that the battery is draining damn fast after charging the phone. The first screenshot shows how I lost ⅓ of my battery in 14 hours without having touched the phone. There's a difference between the beginning curve and the ending curve, that's because I tried to reboot my phone.
I do have AccuBattery installed, which is an awesome app. And it actually shows me than during this interval, I lost around 600mAh (see second screenshot). That should represent 15%, which would be a good value because I'm usually losing around 1% per hour. I shouldn't have lost so much battery.
So.. it seems that the battery is not being charged at 99% at all? I think my battery level has some issues. Because when charging, it usually stays at 100% for around 20 minutes, but is still charging according to AccuBatrery. This can be noticed on normal charges (third screenshot).
If a charge from 19 to 100% charged about 3300mAh and a charge from 7% to 100% charged about 3620mAh, my last charge from 10% to 99% shouldn't charge only 3400 mAh. And that's related to my problem of "phone is still charging even at 100%".
I already tried to empty my battery and fully charge it, I already tried to wipe cache, the issue is still coming back.
Is anyone else encountering this issue? What should in order to fix that?
Thanks in advance!
Bumping. Any idea? :/
Here is another screenshot showing the battery is being discharged with ~2000mAh
