It was claimed that X-reality still work after bootloader is unlocked on the .681 firmware :good::good:
Anyone can have a check on Bionz?? (i'm lazy to do it myself)
maybe i'll unlock soon since u know, the recovery cannot mount system on stock rooted 4.4
camera quality issue is still present
The quality of pics taken on same modes with lb and ub are different, more grainy pics from ub. but unlike old jb versions, it now clearly shows iso difference. eg:- iso 5000 for ub on superior auto low light mod with out flash, and the same for lb is 6400. Also there is difference in image sizes too.. ub pics are few hundred Kb's bigger than lb pics (which clearly is/may an indication of some missing processing??).

Oh holly crap :crying::crying:
thanks for the info bro
sony still dont let us own the phone totally in unlocked BL!!
Do u think there're someway to hack it and take it back??
currently there is no other ways than re locking, but the overall quality can be increased by different mods( which obviously will be more better with lb), like tweaking jpg compressions, video bitrate changes, etc.. but wait.. the kk is just a week old now, devs are still working on kk mods and tweaks. hopefully we can see something soon.:good:

The bionz still works... It is hardware maybe as stated above there might be some difference in quality... To be honest I have quite a good camera with unlocked bl...
The algorithm should be better on kitkat so I look forward to install that when it becomes a little less bugged
Unlocked bl is not a big thing anymore gives you a set of opportunities though

Both locked and unlocked has grains... But see if you can find some comparisons of locked and unlocked running kitkat with same settings... Or else just stay in the locked.. Especially if you don't actually need the custom kernels

Bug camera e and turn off smartphone Z1
hello, today I was taking some pictures I realized that the camera is not taking this more. when I click to take a picture, the icon is frozen and not appear to get out of camera options. grip on power and then open the home and the task manager to get out the camera. other applications are also not picking up camera. the option to turn off the smartphone also not getting this. use the C6903 and after installing Kikkat was so.

I used the flashable file and Stripped by flashtools. Now did the flash with the camera Fw commercial stock back to normal however the NFC did not the installation.
Yeah me too had the same problem of camera app hanging when i try to shoot and the other problem is overheating... Do u know if there is any fix for this..im on ub. 136 nuts...previously i installed nuts.681

bro there are a plenty of tutorials out there on how to install.. and the fr frameware seems to have some probs. go for a geniric global one. no probs at all. or else, try my installation procedure.
what i had is 136 in c6903 with locked bootloader , zxrecovery with root.
1) i downloaded generic global for 6903 and advanced kernel v2 by doomload, and deodex patch by nut, and striped ftf (which doesnot contains data partition, system partition, and cache, and it wont wipe anything,. it contains everything else, kernel, baseband ,TA, bootbundle, bla..bla..bla)
2) now installed latest flashtool 9.15
3) and then backed up my TA with TA backuptool latest version
4) now i unlocked my bootloader
5) and then flashed the ftf , with every thing ticked in "WIPE" and nothing ticked in "EXCLUDE"
6) rebooted, after setup, i rebooted to fastbootmode, flashed advance kernelv2,
7) again rebooted to recovery, flashed deodex patch, and latest super su package
now u can stop here and just reboot and use ur phone , nothing is not working, everything is fine OR if u need to relock and use original kernel continue to 8th step
8) reboot to check if u have proper root and everything..also remb to remove the sd write permission problem.. and install recovery(zx dual recovery latest beta) now....( coz we are going back to stock kernal , relock TA, and currently a buggy recovery, also a RIL restriction--> u cant write anything to system partition even u have root, but can perform other things which need root privilege)
9)reboot into fastboot mode again and flash the striped kernal for ur device ( WAIT..... THERE IS A TRICKY PART... THE STRIPPED FTF MAY NOT BE ALWAYS FROM UR REGIONS FTF OR THE GLOBAL ONE, AND MAY CONTAINS DIFFERENT RADIOS,TA CUSTOMIZATIONS ETC. SO IT MAY( a 10% chance) GET MESSY WITH THE FIRMWARE U FLASHED... SO THERE IS A WAY TO FLASH ONLY THINGS U WANT FROM UR FTF FILE (the whole ftf and not stripped ftf), THE WAY IS .... reload the ftf to flash tool(in flash mode ofcourse), and then SELECT SYSTEM from "EXCLUDE" and UNTICK everything on "WIPE" now the remaining files will count 12 ( check attached image to refer), and then flash it.
10) now reboot, yes u have a partial rooted( ril problem) , deodexed firmware with everything stock. now.
11) just restore the TA ( dont use lock TA from flastool, use TA tool to restore)
12) reboot, enjoy working everything!
DUDES... U KNOW WHY I TYPED ALL THESE STEPS HERE??? BECAUSE PLEASE DONT MESS UP THINGS AND THREADS WITH " IT IS NOT WORKING, PLS HELP ME things" WHILE ALL OTHERS ARE DISCUSSING SOMETHING ELSE. IF U NEED HELP QUICK AND CLEAR, POST UR PROBLEMS WHERE THEY ARE DISCUSSING ABOUT IT!

Is there a way to unbrand my Xperia Z without loosing stock video and pictures? The thing is, I want all additional software added to my phone by T-mobile to be gone while keeping that beautiful stock landscapes video and pictures. If I check all three "wipe" in flashtool, I guess I will loose everything. If I uncheck all three "wipe" I guess that wont remove any additional software.
Can I do that without backing up and restoring via PC Companion. Restoring data via PC Companion mixes up all the pictures and video in album menu, and I hate that.
The way to unbrand the phone is:
-flash whatever firmware you want
-root it.
-uninstall all unwanted apps using a tool such as Titanium Backup.
-delete the customization files to avoid reinstallation after a reboot with Root Explorer or something like it. These files are usually in /etc/product/applications and /etc/product/content.
That's the way I do it, I don't know any other..

Hi, If only flash without rooting your phone, wont void warranty. U can debrand urs using flashtool. And if wanna preserve ur user data, just untick option "wipe data" . I did mine, downgraded 253 FW SING..to Unbrand UK 350 firmware. U may check ur customization version to determine ur phone software region to be flashed, using *#*#7378423#*#* and go Software info. We have ftf region database in xda
Oh right, sometimes, u may have faster/slower updates via OTA due different regions receiving their updates in different time. Hope helps

No, u only sound mod like AcidEngine forgot its name when U ROOT (which u sorta void warranty) As i mentioned, it helps to determine your Z software info and its software region originated. By looking at its customisation version for example:
1270-XXXX-R6A is belongs to Singapore
You can visit
this thread for finding best compatible FTF files for you to flash.
And also focus on File System Version too, because some xperia Z doesnt have LTE support..if flash wrong firmware, will mess up with LTE bands
Hope helps

This is quite strange
1) Locked or unlocked bootloader?
2) Have you ever flashed a custom kernel?
3) Have you ever flashed a custom rom?
4) What's your original firmware customization number? EDIT: I've just seen that's 1266-6442... is this your ORIGINAL firmware? Where do you live? In Germany?
5) Rooted? CWM?

Ok, yes, I know how it works...
I just asked about the bootloader status, because sometimes some people mess with bootloader, kernel, flash from recovery, flash with Flashtool... and so on... WITHOUT the understanding of what they're doing... and come here complaining... do you know what I mean?
OK, now, I know how to help you.
1)
There's a method to download and install the original firmware directly from Sony.
But you need to be rooted. So, are you rooted?
2)
Your customization number is wrong.
1266-6442 doesn't exist.
That's maybe the number of your model, but it's not related with the firmware.
The right number for Telekom Germany is 1265-9144
The customization number is inside your software and can be found pressing *#*#7378423#*#*, inside Service info --> Sofware info --> Customization Version.
Give me that number please, so I can understand what's the software working now on you device.
3)
You said "I didnt backup before flashing, and now have false firmware, no sim signal, no wifi, battery heats as hell, and so on and so on.."
Ok, please, explain better what you did.
Have you flashed what kind of rom? Via recovery?

And i currently have 1265-1620_R1J, flashed it yesterday just so, its CE Region i thing, 4.3 version, build .295.
3)Yeah, i first had the original Firmware on my phone, had the 4.2.2 version, and then the official software came for my phone and the T-Mobile provider i think.
And then, the 4.3 is just S**t, as i sad it, just problems, and i just want the previous version, because it worked perfect.
so i just was flashing all the other firmwares, especially the 4.3, from all the other regions, i thought maybe they will work better, but nope.
And when i try to flash previous versions/firmware, it just comes to the animation, after the sony and xperia logo, and restarts over and over again :/

Ok, now I've understood what's your situation.
It seems that when you flashed 4.1.2 firmwares, the process was not compete for some reason.
The list from which you get that number, is about all kind of xperia T... and is different from the firmware list.
The problem is that you lost your previous original number, maybe it was 1265-9144... and you can resume it only with root and a little bit of experience... and actually I'm not sure you would be able to handle this kind of hacking stuff.
Anyway I'm quite sure that 4.1.2 from CE is perfect for your needs.
Try this one with Flashtool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42393403&postcount=29
This firmware is perfect for any european country: I tested many times and is one of the best.
But before flashing, recharge your battery to the maximum. And be sure that the flashing process is complete and without errors.
Just try and let me know...

I can't answer to the first question.
You are the first with this weird problem and I'm beginning to think that something is broken inside your phone.
Bootloops are usual when something is wrong with kernel or system, but if you say that flashing went good and this appears only with 4.1.2 , I really don't know why.
You are not rooted because you've never done before and anyway every time you format the system (flashing with Flashtool or via recovery) you lose root.
So you are not rooted for sure.
The problem now is becoming bigger, because there's no way to root a 4.3 firmware directly.
But... guess what? You have to root 4.1.2 before and then install a 4.3 already rooted. :crying:
The only way for you to root 4.3 directly is to unlock your bootloader, but this means that you lose warranty and DRM keys (that are needed to let work some functions like Bravia Engine).
Actually you could save your warranty and DRM keys with a special backup (called TA backup), but.... guess what? You need to be rooted!!!! :crying:
The second way is to try to install 4.0.4 ice cream and root it. It could work.
I give you this link https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B55PDGQqCzReV2dFSjFSNnlLLVk/preview?pli=1
It's 4.0.4 italian version...

LOL :cyclops: as you wish...
1) Flash 4.3 with Flashtool
2) Unlock your bootloader on Sony official site following all the instructions: http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions
3) Once it's unlocked, open Flashtool and re-flash 4.1.2 CE that I gave you and you tried before: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42393403&postcount=29
4) Don't turn on. Download Doomkernel here: http://d-h.st/4kK
Unpack the .elf file inside the zip
5) Open Flashtool. Connect the phone to PC keeping pushed the volume-up button. Now the phone is in fastboot mode. Click on the lightning symbol, select fastbootmode, select kernel to flash, select the .elf file extracted before, done.
6) Unplug the phone. Turn on and you will see the doomkernel logo... and now I hope that you finally enter into 4.1.2 firmware without bootloop.
7) To root: you need to copy this file http://download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip to the internal memory.
Turn off. Turn on pushing volume-down repeatedly, now you enter into recovery, now install the supersu zip and reboot.

DAAAAAMN ! -.- :/ DommKernel logo is there, xperia logo, animation, and blocks again, restarts all the time.. I'm really desperate...
Now you have 4.1.2 with the doomkernel and the root, which is the perfect combination to do anything on your device.
If it's working, you can leave the phone in this situation.
Instead if you really want to go back to the original firmware, go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334653
Follow the part A using this custom number 1265-9144 (t-mobile Germany). Remember you need root for this process!
Relock the bootloader http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1924221
Plug to Sony PC Companion and Sony will re-install your original firmware.
My advice is to leave the phone unlocked and rooted with CE firmware

Damn.
Reflash 4.3 with Flashtool.
Download this Doomkernel: http://doomlord.xperia-files.com/download.php?dlid=VC1Eb29NS2VybmVsLXYwOQ==
Be aware: don't use the old doomkernel, but this one (v.09) that is specific for 4.3
Flash the elf file, as you did before.
Now you have doomkernel logo and you can enter into 4.3.
Now root it as I suggested in the previous posts (turn off, turn on pushing vol-down, flash suspersu zip, reboot).
Try.

It's a bug from Sony, since there are many including myself, suffering from it. It made me downgrade to 4.3 since camera is a big deal on this phone.

LB = locked bootloader
UB = unlocked bootloader
I also used @Nut's .757, my bootloader is locked and have never suffered from any camera issues.
Unfortunately my only suggestions would be to wipe cache..

I have noticed a trend with UB and camera issues. are you using a custom kernel? If not, i would consider relocking your bootloader or flashing your back up if you made one before you unlocked. Once thats done and you confirm camera working on .534.. follow this quide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52407809&postcount=2 this page is by @gregbradley

Go back to 534 using flashtool, then re-root your phone, then install a custom recovery, then install a custom rom, don't boot, boot to flashmode and flash the global or region specific FTF for your phone not the stripped version, obviously taking care not to include TA and System in the flash, also don't perform a wipe from within flashtool on the second flash.
Done
Obviously do this only when all else has failed, should only take around 20 minutes max

I had this issue with .681 using nut method aswell.
Followed all directions and wiped prior to flash in recovery. All was fine but.camera was pitch black and fuzzy it would take a picture with flash but only crap.
All I had to do was
back up using titanium
Enter recovery and factory reset
Wipe dalvic cache
Reboot
Reinstall vital data only from titanium
Do not restore any camera app or data
Working perfectly.
Hope this helps and is untested on .757

I want to try the lollipop that everyone loses their mind with so is it okay to flash d5803 firmware to d5833 phone? Is there a very simple guide here that explains everything? And when I flashed that d5803 firmware will I lose my keys?
Also, if I dont like the lollipop, can I flash back to d5833 kitkat firmware?
Thank you guys! I dont have any knowledge about this flashing things so I wanna ask you guys first.
I'm no pro and not sure if folks will answer without telling you to search. But I'm almost sure this is a surefire way to brick your phone. Differences between radios and stuff will have a significant impact on your device functionality. Talking from experience of flashing a lot of roms, not a dev by any means.

Been out of the flashing world for some time now, as i need my phone for work and can't risk a bricked phone for even a day. Do we still have to worry about losing Sony licenses for the camera and bravia engines from unlocking the bootloader? Forgive me, i can't remember all of the terms. Do we need top unlock the bootloader to boot still?

NaminatoR1254jaime.sier said:
Yeah, I did flash it.
I used xperifirm to download a Generic Latinamerican Firmware, because Im from Chile, and I use carrier Movistar, and their firmware is soooooo old, is the number version you use to root the z3c (the one finishing in .93)
After that, I used flashtool (I used 0.9.18.3) and built the firmware, but left cust-reset.ta and the other reset.ta out of it.
Finally, with the same flashtool I flashed everything, except baseband and in wipe I unticked data.
Took a long while to flash and a longer to boot (optimizing apps blabla) but it runs great.
EDIT: Working with it a little more, the only thing I dont have working is the led notifications.
EDIT2: Yes I do. Turns out I love to use the phone in silent mode...but silent mode [and priority mode] disables led notifications (even if they are in fact enabled in settings). So I have to use "sound mode" and vibration.

Usually when you downgrade from a newer firmware (this is from experience) without wiping data there will be an unlimited wave of error messages popping up. so yes if you want to go back to KitKat wipe data as well - you can make a backup of data using TWRP then restore only the data (that worked for me a few times)
And yes that guid looks good - although you can just download the .ftf file from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/list-stock-firmwares-d5803-d5833-t2906706 Just makes the process a bit easier

Yes it's the best guide. go for it! When you flash back to kit kat you have to wipe data. But when you upgrade to lollipop from kitkat you don't necessarily have to wipe data. Have fun
And like he said, just grab the ftf from that link. That will save you the trouble of going through the xperifirm steps. Just follow the flashtool steps. Hello there!
I am with Nordic (5803) version on my 5833 phone since a week ago. No problems so far, i am just not using 4G (where the most differences are assumed to be).
The only issue I had, was the battery drain in the first hours after I've flashed. Then i just restarted the phone, and since then, no problems.

Seems 100% cross compatible with D5833. No idea why some users are suggesting it will soft brick or otherwise harm your device.

I know I have to unlock it's bootloader in order to be able to put TWRP on it (and then custom ROM). But how do I do this? I looked around but found nothing (really, I might just be blind).
Thanks in advance to anyone who might be answering. Also, if I unlock the bootloader... Do I lose anything (like camera capabilities, I know that was a thing for the Xperia Z)...?

second : u first unlock it yeah then go to this
and then install it on ur freind's phone (via pc it's very simple and all is written there )
after u do this and have a working recovery u go to the recovery and flash the twrp from here and then u will have a fully working recovery capable of flashing even 6.0 ROMs ...but if u want a recovery that is only working with 5.0+ ROMs (it's very good and fast " it's the last twrp v3.0.0 !! " and flash it if u want to flash a lollipop ROM or higher ) check this out
all is here and i'm sure u won't need something else ,,,,enjoy ! :silly:

6.0 is better in terms of everything
but in 6.0 the camera is broken (video recording does work but u can't capture images or take photos )
so if that is not a problem then u should flash 6.0
5.1.1 is fully functional and it's very smooth and good too (i'm on cm12.1) and it's very good and i have no problems with it at all ...all is fixed in 5.1.1 >>>for the best ROM u should go for cm12.1+adrian dc addons (or u can flash the latest unofficial build from here which have everything u need )
or flash the nighltly and flash with it the gestures package and the quickboot

I see.
Yeah, I have Marshmallow on my Nexus 6 and I have a crazy bug with Contacts... I receive a message from number X, add it to Contacts, and there's a chance that next time I try to look for that contact, it doesn't exist. Say... I click on the contact right after I add it to my Contacts list, and try to Edit it. The number field would be empty, and seconds later I'd be brought back to the Contacts List with a toast notification saying "This contact doesn't exist".
Crazy, lol. Wasn't happening on Lollipop. Oh and battery isn't any better with Marshmallow - doubt Doze is working as intended, as long as you have apps like WhatsApp.
So yeah... I'll slap a Lollipop ROM on my friend's SP. Blow some new life on his 3 year old coffee grinder, lol.
----------
One more thing. Unlocking the bootloader doesn't break anything? Like I said in the original post, I remember the Xperia Z had a thing where if you unlocked its bootloader, the camera would go bonkers (wouldn't work lol).
Also... if this guy ever wants to go back to stock... Is there this posibility? I've seen there are stock .ftf files, not sure what's that about.
Thank you very much for assisting me

our 6.0 is very clean thanks to our great developer but since we have outdated libs of the camera that's the only problem we have and we hope to get it fixed
about the BL the unlocking will only effect the display (bravia-engine 2 will be disabled ) but anyway that won't work on custom ROMs at all ,,,so flashing lollipop will kill that anyway but it doesn't effect much cuz the display with HTS on lollipop is just fine and great
to get back u need to first backup the drm files (this is before the unlocking process !!) there is a program for it called TA backup ...search for it u will find it for sure cuz it's for all xperia devices
after u back that up keep it in safe place and flash whatever u want
whenever u want to get back to stock just flash a ftf ROM with flashtool (or there are some great stock ROM zips u can flash directly via twrp or cwm )
if u want to restore the bravia engine 2 just re-lock the boot-loader and restore the drm keys from the backup u took and boom ! everything get back to normal
and yes our phone is 3 years old but it's great one and we still not on legacy section thanks to it's community !!
good luck with all ! hope ur friend enjoy it
and all is here to help u

If I back up those DRM files, I suppose I can restore them after I flash a ftf ROM? To fully go back to stock, I mean...

Yes, you can. And restoring DRM keys will re-lock your bootloader as well.
