Yes, just use internal memory. Also you do not install the bootloader, every phone has this partition already

Sd card partition

Hello, i'd like to ask is there any way for sgs user to repartition external sd card with phone? I mean an app or something like that?

Put your external-sd on card reader on computer (don't use phone) and do the partition using partition wizard

I need that for my friend HTC desire new rom, it requires 2 partitions and it says not to use WINDOWS for partitioning, idk why it just says that...

[Q] Any way to make ext sd card the default one and not the internal sd card?

Hi,
I would like to know if there is any way to make ext sd card the default one and not the internal sd card? Cause right now, I can't restore certain backups from previous phones as the various apps wont detect. It can only search the internal storage, and is unable to search the storage in the external sd card.
Any app or setting that can do this?
Thank you!
An app like ROM Toolbox should let you browse to the ext sd card to choose a backup. Am I understanding your question correctly?

Hmm, not really actually. An example would be Whatsapp. It backs up to my sd card in my old phone. However, after switching to Droid 4, I can't restore the messages because now it backs up to the internal sd card and not the ext-sd card.

App2SD can do that but it is not always possible or recommendable.
For data files i think and depends on the app (i.e. i can set Open Street Map to store all downloaded maps on external sd card)
Best apps to use are link 2sd and folder mount these both need root.
Because of the way the internal memory is mounted as SD card no app2sd will work as they see internal as sdcard.
Link 2sd you set a partition by connecting card to PC without phone use any free windows partition tool set size and make sure it is set as primary, use fat32
Then when you restart phone with ext sdcard inserted link 2sd will ask that a new partition has been detected and how to mount select fat32 then from in app select which files are in the internal memory and select to make link. they are then moved to ext sdcard and free up space.
When you download games they are harder to move data as they look to particular folder only. Folder mount links these files so you can move to ext card and games still works.
Both are free on the play store.

so i need to download link2sd and folder mount? is there any workaround without using these two apps?
Don't know but you won't get any apps to ext sdcard or data without using these or similar.
They load at boot and are active, just click app, game and it will run smoothly.

I guess no... you can't do without root bro..
Wait till root is available for your c5303:highfive: & Then you can move it.
Or you can flash 284 firmware & root it, if you need it urgent.

Not really as the apps need root to work and every time you boot up you will lose function of apps if you unroot.

Rooting doesn't cause battery drain.

Lost.dir SD Card problems...

I use a sandisk 32gb sd card on my Z1.
(Bootloader Unlocked, Cusom Rom & Kernel.)
Now I notice that, I soon was missing files on the SD card, found it back in Lost.dir..
And with Recuva software also,
How is this happening?
I backed up the data of the sdcard to pc, formatted the sd card to fat32 agian.
Hope it won't happen again.
Has this to do with mount of unmount of the sdcard?
I never had this on my Xperia T with a sandisk 16gb.
Any help would be appreciated
Can be a faulty SD.
After formatting is seems to go well

My SD Memory Card doesn't mount automatically

Hey, I am a complete novice and very new member. This HTC vivid happened to be my first android phone. Rooted, unlocked bootloader and flashed recovery mode on it. I just noticed that anytime I restart the phone, it sure will unmount the sd memory card. And before I can access my files on this memory card, I would have to go to storage setting and mount it back manually. It wasn't like this before. I guess the memory card on boot before. I have changed the sd card and its still the same.
