[Q] How to backup data without root? - Asus Transformer TF701

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to copy my data/savegame of Dungeon Hunter 4 from my tf701t (not rooted) to my Xperia SP (rooted) using Helium. The saving process is complete but the restore fails at ~97%.
Is there another app who can save datas of an app without root?
Thanks

I've been using the App Backup app that comes with the Asus to back up my game data. It works just fine, and I'm not rooted. If the backup is too large, I'll also just back up the specific games I'm hoping to save. A further suggestion, you can move the abu backup file to the external card, or to Dropbox. That way, if you do a factory reset, you can still restore the game data. This was after constantly having to start my Angry Birds over and over. :highfive:

A backup made in Asus Backup will not restore on non-Asus device. @Issawillin, it says right on the Play Store page of Helium that it does not work on your Sony device. Identify where your game stores data on the 701 and copy it to the same place on the xperia.

My bite. Sorry. I didn't read the OP carefully. Didn't register that it was a non Asus device.

Thank you all for these solutions. In fact i was looking for a backup for my phone on the only goal of make a titanium back up. But i didn't know that the asus bloat app could work that much. Thank you all. Asus backup app is perfect for saving datas.

how to backup when tf701t has Android 4.4
Hello
Since the update of the tf701t to android 4.4. the asus backup app is not usable anymore. Has someone a solution to this situation?
I would like to try to install the asus backup app via apk. do you think this way is possible? Or asked in another way. Is Asus preventing to install the app but it would be technicly possible or is the app totaly not compatible with adroid 4.4.?
Which alternative backup app comes closest to the functionality of the original asus backup app?
thankful for some tipps

It really depends on what kind of data you want to backup...
Try Helium. It probably is the most complete solution.

Same thing happened to me but when that id warning screen pop up it says that if you want to restore to your original id accept that and you are good to go with your restored apps.
Note: you can only restore your id with the pro version of titaniun back up.
I reinstall everything and I didn't restor de système data from titanium.
Si I didn't had to change my id.
But I couldn't find my apps backup devant by changing the backup folder in the settings.
But now everthing works.
Good rom. I wait for a french version.

Does this rom needs a full wipe if I want to install the new version?

If you're coming from a previous version of Vengeance MIUI, then no.
If you're coming from another ROM, then yes a Full Wipe is recommended.
Check the MIUI thread for more details.
I come from an old version on vengeance miui si no wipe thx

Carefull woth the leak of the miui rom there is a big risk of brick.
It seems to be a problem with the emmc format. Or something like that.

I came from KD v8.0 and have sucessfully restored all my apps, contacts, sms, etc thru GoBackup (better than titanium, which works on device ID). However I am not able to see "USB mode" options, nor can I use "USB OTG" features. Am i missing something? Any help appreciated.

Best and easiest way to backup GL note data

Just wanted to knew whats is the best and easiest way to backup GL note data?
as i'm going to flash a new rom so i wanted to backup things like contacts, messages, apps and setttings before i wipe all of them
many thanks in advance
There are different ways.
If your device is Rooted you can use Titanium Backup from the Playstore.
You can Backup your Data with your Google Account.
With a Fullwipe your Data on your internal SD card stay untouched. So you won't loose your photos and Videos.
For your apps you can also use app2zip from the Playstore.

Titanium backup is the best if your device is rooted

contacts and calander in gmail, apps and app data titanium backup.
tip check my profile, statistics and thrn threads and read the one on full backup solution
edit, for sms/etc best use another solution. several in playstore.
another tip change backup location to external, that is less likely to be formatted by accident by yourself.

thanks guys
Google account for personal data (big brother yada yada)
Titanium backup for apps, however it is not advised to restore those data if you come from a radically different ROM.

I use g cloud on my phone to save my setting. Maybe it can work on gear with Null_rom. Need tethering gcloud backup on web
Titanium backup??
PS: won't have my great until 8 more days

If you do a TWRP backup on the Gear, when you re - pair the Gear, it should restore all the Samsung settings, then if you restore the data only from the TWRP backup it will restore all of your sideloaded apps, Nova settings, widgets etc.

[Q] Backup all apps and data?

When going from one device to another, is there a way to back up all my apps, wallpaper, and other data and then transfer to the new phone? Does the Google backup that's built into the settings do this when you sign in on the new device. Is there a 3rd party app that can do this?
Thanks guys.

You can try smart switch. It doesn't automatically download all your apps but gives easy access to them. But it does recover other stuff from old device

I can't get it to load on a nexus 5, any other programs

Helium is great....but it won't backup or restore app data.....just the app itself. But that is better than nothing.....

Switching from my S4 to the S5 using Helium did bring the app data - for me at least.
From the app description:
Helium does NOT require root. All Android users can use Helium to backup and sync Android applications.
Helium lets you backup your apps and data to your SD card or cloud storage.
Thanks for the info. I will have to check it out again

Problems with helium (non-premium)

Hi guys, I finally made the decision to root my z1,but first of all, I need to back it up. Problems are :
1. Sony pc companion backup is cr*p.
2. So I opted to using helium. Now, I got all settings up. Downloaded the pc counterpart of the app, downloaded the Android app from Google store, set up into debug mode. Helium requires my phone on PTP mode, which I do, but 1 second later, it comes back to MTP mode.
Did I miss anything? I tried downloading "drivers" from helium 's suggestions, but the one they have their is older than my SPCC.
Thanks in advance! I really look forward to rooting my device and getting it's benefits. Cheers!

I had the same problem, and I didn't find any solutions (I have Helium Premium). I ended up backing up my phone using Sonys software, just to be on the safe side. Rooting does not wipe your phone (at least not the method I used), but better safe than sorry. Unlocking on the other hand will wipe your phone!
After root, I installed Titanium and made all the backups I wanted. I also installed dual recovery (still without wiping the phone) and made a Nandroid bckup.
Titanium backup always work, use that in the future. It is worth the money, all others I have tried have been of no use

He's right. Move all files from internal memory to the PC and then use titanium backup. It's able to back up your entire phone including the application data. Duh. It can actually backup your entire device with system apps and it's data.
