You can still root. I am unsure about the cwm as I wasn't aware that was working for carrier

So rumor has it right now that theres an update coming out for the G Flex next month in April that is supposed to include 4.4 and also knock code. Do you guys think that this is an update everyone should do? Or is it going to make it even harder for people trying to unlock the bootloader if we update?

I'm pretty sure the current root method won't work once the Flex is updated to KitKat. I know with the G2 a developer was able to make a stock KitKat Rom with Root quickly. Not sure the Flex will be so lucky since the Flex seems more locked down then the G2. I was a flash whore but I'm cool with stock for now.

Sprint is usually quick with updates so hopefully they push it out real soon
Gonna be awhile I'd imagine for US due to most of the carriers taking their good Ole time pushing them through. Just bought mine today and has 4.2.2, lol! I had 4.3 on my note 2. I wish I had a time machine like that, haha!

We will get it pretty soon.....I Hope ? atleast my note 3 already has 4.4.2 ?

Just got a reply from LG that there will come official info for the EU/nordic model within a few weeks
For those of us that are rooted how will we get the ota update? Will it come to use and we can just do the update and still keep the root or do we have to unroot in order to update?

You would need to unroot. Do not try ota while rooted.

I wont, i remember when i had my roote htc incredible i wouldnt get ota's i would have to flash them but since we cant do that for nor just wondering if it was possible with the flex.

there haven't been any updates on the flex, so no one knows if you can do it or not..
the cardinal rule has always been NEVER do an OTA update if you are rooted..

according to all the internet rumor mills/sources, its coming sometime in the next 30 days.
since each carrier has their own "version" that they push, it could be alot sooner or alot later, depending on your carrier..
I'm on the leaked 4.4 and I see people are having problems not being able to update. If there was an Odin version, would that work?

It's because AFAIK it's not pure MJ5 but it's modified. We never had MJ5 build on Kies or Sammobile.

I restored to mj5 and then did Ota update to another version which worked fine and then it tried to do an Ota update to 4.4.2 and fails. Thinking of trying emergency firmware restore via kies and see if that works.

It won't. Kies only has MI9. It will fail because of different flash count in aboot trust me.

There are 3 people trying it. I'll post it if they succeed.
In the past week on 2 occasions I woke up with a notification from Tmobile saying it was the download for the 4.4.2 Kickat update. So I downloaded it (both times) then clicked install. It booted into recovery and said it was applying the update, then it would reboot to the phone. Then I'd check and I was still on 4.2.2. I called tmo today and they said they're having tons of trouble getting this update out and it's not an issue with my phone. Did This happen to anyone else....?

i get it, i go to flash.
First off let me say thanks for reading my question.
I am an HTC One M8 guy myself. However, my daughter has the G Flex from T-Mobile. She has fallen in love with some of the XPosed framework modules. Does the G Flex support XPosed framework? I told her I would root her Flex and put the frameworks on her phone but I wanted to make sure it supports that app before I root it.
Thanks again!
Yes works fine

Hi, i have a flex D955 as well running 4.4.2 and i wanted to root it. But on the IORoot it says only 4.2.2 is supported. And on YouTube i found an app called Towelroot or something like that.
On my Galaxy S3 i'm running Xposed and root was no problem.
How did you get rooted? And can you switch to ART with Xposed? On S3 custom rom it was not possible.
Thanks for your answer in advance.

Just one more 'stupid' question. Is there a way to unroot my phone just in case i need to send it to repair.

All these questions have been answered in tons of the g flex forums. Probably could answer most of them with just the titles of the threads on XDA.

yes, there is an LG flash tool you will find lots of places and lots of references to throughout the Flex forums.
you use it to flash your original firmware, if you want to bother "restoring it" back to stock for some reason..
So I've been bouncing back and forth between 4.2 and 4.4 playing around with stuff. Last night I downloaded kk update as I've done several times. Except this time it wouldn't update and a messagep popped up saying I'm suspected of rooting. So be warned, at&t has probably changed the update package.
