I assume with no custom recovery we can't flash font packs (although I've read a couple places freegee can be used to flash cwm or twrp) if a custom recovery isn't an option right now how can we change all fonts globally to the one we choose.. I'd like to have Droid Sans. does iFont work with this phone?
I've never used adb to push anything but I do have font packs that worked with 4.2 and 4.3. they were flashable packs. could I adb push these font packs and it work? I have adb installed so do I just use cmd to input the codes?
If I used root browser from rom toolbox pro (system/fonts) and my phone is currently set to the SmartGothic font would I just need to replace those smart gothic fonts with the droid sans ttf files? do I need to change any other files in system/fonts?
if anyone is interested android tweaker 2 has a font addon option for $1.23 and it does work to change your fonts.
I've been using tweaker 2 for while too. Bit scared to use it for fonts an etc since we don't have a back up lol.
Am I clear on understanding you have used it to change fonts on the flex? And have you tried zip aligning or installing the bravia engine through It?

yes the font addon works (att d950). make sure in your system settings the 'roboto' font is chosen. that's what this addon replaces. and no I haven't used it for the bravia engine or zip aligning anything. just enabled a few tweaks and had no problems with it so far. I know there isn't a backup but you can always go back to stock if something messes up.
I'm using rom toolbox pro also for certain things.. I can confirm youi can change your lcd density without soft bricking. from what I know about other phones it probably won't look right unless you use a custom launcher. I use nova prime

If you are a fan of ClassicalGas's work (e.g. you use his JAMT theme chooser theme) and would like to use one of his lockscreen's then look no further:
http://themedroid.com/2011/06/hinted-white-lockscreen/
Gas has updated the theme for use on CM7. Here are the instructions from his site:
Install ZipThemer (consider donating for this wonderful tool)
Download the zipped file
Open ZipThemer and press “+Theme”
Locate the downloaded file
Press “Build It!”
Create undo file
Flash outputted file via recovery or RomManager
Enjoy
Screen shots below (also from Gas's website).
Thanks for doing this! I Hadn't got around to it myself (and probably wont for a while).

Awesome! Thanks a lot.

Hi Gas, no problem at all! Happy to help
Worked perfectly! and looks awesome with the JAMT - White Gradient theme!!
-Evo, CM7,n76
Yessssssss!
hm. cant get it to work.
It flashes alright but only thing changeing is the 'answering sliders' not anything on the lockscreen.
Im running JAMT-donate via the theme manager and im guessing i might have to use the system-defult to see the changes(?).
Any way to solve this?

I think the sliders are themed by the theme chooser so it may not actually be changing anything. Is it flashing properly?

I think it would, there may be a few redundant images in the zip you could delete to streamline the package but the sliders should theme.

Awesome. Didn't realize this was updated. Thanks
This was achieved through multiple xml edits. I have taken the 2.3.5/2.3.7/4.0.4 Mms.apk(with added SMS Split) and completely inverted it so it looks like the black version.
I wanted to share this with all users interested in a up-to-date Black stock Mms.apk from 2.3.5/2.3.7./4.0.4
Mainly the reason I wanted this updated to 2.3.5/2.3.7/4.0.4 is for the latest quality and reliable split (with a supported framework).
On some ROMs, namely stock, the SMS split option does not show in options but it does split and is turned on by default.
This APP will work on stock and AOSP ROMS. As long as you have root.
INSTALL:
DEODEXED ROMS:
Download Black_Mms.apk below and install like normal, through package installer or push to /system/app/
STOCK-LIKE ODEXED ROMS:
Flash the one you want:Black_Mms-2.3.5.zip, Black_Mms-2.3.7.zip, Black_Mms-4.0.4 through custom recovery (This zip will push Mms to /system/framework/, allowing preferences to stay intact upon reboot)

Ok. Its cause your running odexed. Push the app to /system/framework/. It should be in the same directory as framework-res.apk. make the permissions the same.-->chmod 644 /system/framework/Black_Mms.apk.
This will create a classes.dex for it, allowing settings and preferences to stick.
Gimme a few, i will make a zip especially for odexed roms that pushes this to /system/framework instead of /system/app

You are non-rooted so its odexed. It will install but preferences wont stick. Needs to be in /system/framework
So I want to change my statusbar to the classic style. (The white version from 2.2 and back) So I was wondering if there is a way to do this. I have a rooted samsung exhibit 2 4g running Rebel Rom 2.1. Any help appreciated
Ok.
yes there is. first grab the statusbar.apk from somewhere (anywhere). then replace the current statusbar.apk with the new one. reboot after. note that it may not work depending on screen size. you may status-brick your phone. (if you know what i mean)
Sent From The Phone Of Gamers
I'm a little new to this. So where in root explorer would that apk be? And where would I find this apk and would it automatically change to the classic version after I replace the old one?
Sent from my SGH-T679 using XDA
goto /system/apps (different on nearly every phone) and then replace. the status bar will be missing at first so do a reboot. if you cant find the statusbar.apk file then there is an explorer out there (root) that allows you to search for it. im not sure if root ex has it but try anyway. remember to find one designed for your device. (or one which screen size matches) or you could status-brick your phone. as always something could go wrong if you play about with it so i take no responsibility and assure you if you follow all instructions...both instructions (XD) correctly then you should have what you want.

system ui is only icons and out line. example: hold power to get a menu. the icons will be different and maybe the outline a different colour. thats it. the icons also involve check boxes and things. not settings though.
Sent From The Phone Of Gamers
OK, well the forum for rebel rom 2.1 said that systemui.apk is the status bar.apk for that rom. So if I delete systemui.apk and replace it with retrodroid.apk. will I get my desired goal?

You can do them manually by editing the system UI and changing some settings.. but you need to be rooted for that.. or yes PA is a custom rom which has feature of changing status bar color and icons

Do you have cwm recovery ? Backup, wipe, flash rom+gapps zips. Reboot.
If u dont have cwm recovery flash a recovery image using odin or heimdall.

Hi guys, I'm writing here just because I want to know one thing about xposed module:
- does it work on Desire c running cm10?
I've just looked the official thread and I saw this
I develop the Xposed framework based on the AOSP sources. I'm personally using CM10.1 on an I9100 (Samsung Galaxy S2, bought in Germany). Basically, it should work on any phone which with a ROM based on Android 4.0 or later and an ARM processor (this is the processor architecture, most smart phones and tablets have one). Exceptions might be ROMs which are different from the original Android code in some very internal, central code parts (which don't need to be touched for most theming and enhancement modifications). Examples are Miui-based ROMs (see known incompatibilities below). But this is related to the ROM, not the phone itself.

.
I know, I can make a backup and restore it in case xposed module doesn't work, but I don't like so much to make backups (it tooks very long and I don't know if is just my phone that spend all this time or not)
I hope someone can help me
It's works and its awesome!
I love you. Next step: install it and start editing

Apparently, we cannot change the notification panel (color or image) using Xblast. I tried a lot. I wanted transparent.. Then finally, I had to do it myself by decompiling SystemUI. Now I have transparent..
Try the other options like center clock and clock color, Status bar color, Carrier label. They all work

I second that. It works great.
Another module I use is XlockY by the same developer as of Xblast tools. It helps do some cool things in lockscreen like changing lockrings and all.
Although some ROM-dependent features dont work here too.
