man go and get your phone back. To me it sounds like they've mistaken your device with another model, which they had for repairing.

There's no true difference, it's just a variant. In fact I believe that i8190N is the mode with NFC which is a bonus, but no custom roms have support for it yet I believe. If it is a big issue for you, then you can always go back and show your receipt for the original purchase (or even the original box) and explain to them that you'd prefer the i8190 variant.

Yes, it definitely can't work, at least for most devices. Like once, I accidentally flashed the wrong firmware for my friend's Galaxy Ace, and it couldn't boot up, just showing a white screen.
Hi there,
Hi all, my galaxy ace s5830 can't boot into download mode at all, the phone was bricked as i flash to s5830i rom. It is totally bricked. Nothing appear, i tried so many ways but it is still the same. I think it is hard bricked. Anyone can suggest a way how to boot into download mode.
Thanks in advance
If you can't boot into download mode, that's probably the end of your ace.
Sorry, mate.

Try this-
Remove Sim card, memory card and battery.
Press home + volume down + power and holding these buttons, ask someone to insert the battery.
That may do it.
Best of luck.

You can't install any ROMs for the S5830i on the "normal" S5830.
I think that this is the reason for the brick.
Good luck!

According to everything I found on the internet, they do it that way, too.
So building or buying a USB Jig would would be cheaper.

No more warranty, so i think it will be costly for me to repair it at samsung store. By the way, no harm trying before sending it to samsung store.

Give the results on how the USBjig worked Anticipated!!!!
The usb jig doesn't work on my galaxy ace... i send it to repair shop, they told me motherboard broken, so better throw it n buy a new one. Cost of repair will be enuf for us to buy a second hand galaxy ace.

Motherboard broken? Really?
I can't believe that. Why should flashing a ROM for a different phone model break the device?

Hard bricks render the motherboard useless. It doesn't mean that it's physically broken ( just in case you've misunderstood.... ). I dunno the details of how and why It happens. But it is feasible that that op might get a motherboard of some other device for his phone in case if that of ace is outta stock.

Thanks for the help, hopefully not damaging the cell with the CM10, I already installed the Cm9 on a phone before, but always the fear. I'll have to wait for my phone and get to know which model it (perhaps the L).

I'm a little lost here, I can install in any model Cm10.1 S3 mini, but I saw a tutorial on the internet that seeks to root before installing CM10.1, why?
I can not create an account on SamMobile, can you pass me the stock of another link?

No, you don't have to root before installing CM10.1, it comes pre-rooted

The phones have nothing in common just the name - Samsung's stupid like that. To port a rom you'll need to make sure both phones have same screen size and same cpu as starting guidelines. Try finding a phone that's similar to yours.

What carrier do you have? Is the phone branded for another carrier? Have you checked the IMEI (under the battery) against swappa? As well as the IMEI in settings/about phone?

i have samsung galaxy s4 GT-I9505 android 4.2.2
yeah i checked them and found that the imei under the battery is NOT THE SAME as the one in setting status.
my problem is i dont connect to 3G and my android cant connect to the server to update because my device has been modified .

What I'm asking is what carrier are you using your device on and if the device is branded by a different carrier. Most times flashed devices won't be officially supported by another carrier flashed devices are different from unlocked devices as some flashing requires a "donor phone" for an IMEI and this can be problematic for data etc.

Post this thread under Galaxy S4 Forum and I promise you vill get help... It´s not that hard
There you can get help to flash back the stock firmware for your phone and to get everything to work again. Thankfully the Samsung phones are quite easy to restore.
Probably you will get help to get the right IMEI too... unless there´s something else behind the fact that it differs from the label. Perhaps a new motherboard on the phone after a repair?
Still... post it in the right forum and I promise you will get help
i'm really confused

Lets suppose they changer the motherboard ....So why do i still get an imei that starts with 4457.......... IN the status
and the one under the battery starts with 35...........
Strange... I agree...
However... if you restore to Stock firmware via ODIN the you will probably be ok.
Again... take a look at the S4 Forum, you will se that you are not the only one with this problem. So your motherboard is probably the original one, the flashed firmware is probably at fault.
When you flash firmware for ANY phone, stock or modified, it´s very important to get the right firmware for the right model, or a fimware that is tested for your phone. If you want totally stock it´s very important that you get the carrierversion of the firmware (for example Verizon or At & T)
Stock firmwares can be found at Sammobile.com. There you can also find the tool you use to flash it... it´s called ODIN. Very easy to use if you make sure you follow the instructions and have the correct drivers installed on the PC
