Hi, i need some help here. I buy this phone with ICS preinstalled, and never, till now, i didn't use custom GB, everything from ICS above but not GB, so i don't have a clue which GB rom +Kernel would be the best. STABILITY, that is what i need most, after that some normal battery consumption. In general, some good daily driver, that is what i need. I know that we all have different needs, that is clear to me.
I just want to hear your opinions so i can have some guidelines.
Thanks :good:
you won't miss with Temasek's rom and Vadonka's kernel... i was using that combo ever since i got my O2X until pengus/tonyp stuff arrived

i decide to try temasek rom build 135.4 and is smooth as hell with combination with vadonka's kernel...but now i'm facing with problem that internal sd card is mounted as emmc i and that mess up gallery, titanium backup and on...how to change that to be like on stock GB and every ICS and on... thanks
one more thing...trickster mod and performance control app will not work on GB, so wich tweaker you recommend.
correct me if i'm wrong, but etana kernel comes with it's own tweaker (?!)

i also think that is coming but is not...i don't know. maybe something goes wrong or maybe does not all have tweaker. btw i made huge beginer mistake and by mistake flash etana kernel on gueste goodbye 2x rom and i need to repartition device so i can enter recovery again, i tried flash recovery again but it was useless ...and i lost all the pictures...only thing that was important...damn
Etana did not have tweaker, it was compiled at an earlier stage. @spica1234 made the first on the fly kernel. It was released after stable release sr2. However, the options takeoff began after this when ics was released. Anyway, the old preconfigurationed kernels was really good even though there was no user options.

Also we have like a handful of roms and its still a problem and too much to decide. What if we had like 15+ roms like p500?
Hi all, i am wondering wich of those stock roms is the best one? I have been using cm9 and cm7 for a while now but i want to try stock roms for a change..so help me out plz. If you ppl know wich kernel is best please write ;-)
I would recommend stock rom with either spicas hp kernel or guestekrnl.

I think that the customized stock roms is better than the stock rom, because there is alot of fixes that makes the experience more pleasing. I tried this one for a couple of weeks ago and i was very satisfied with how it worked.
Same here, using this rebuild V20Q + the tweak pack with FD off and probably the best one i've tried so far, battery consumption is very low.
The only thing i dislike is the battery mod, I prefer the stock battery icon. But it's just a detail...
Oh yes, and why are the devs making these roms keeping fsecure software inside, who use it? I had to uninstal it with TI
It sits there, in your ram, and does not do anything anyway until it is activated with a paid licence, useless.
thanks for your help guys, installed it and will try for at least a week.

Modaco-Roms were best at Froyo-Times.
In GB-Times i tried several Roms, but after it all i must say Stock 20q with Spica SR2 is stable an performant for everyday use.
CM9/Nova etc is exciting, but still way too experimental .
Let each of you to write what rom uses, and which is considered to be the best, because all the roms that I'm tired and I do not know which to choose.

Amazing ROM. Very fast, smooth, never FC or reboots. Very stable.
Lately I have also been using iDroid JoyOS which based on CM 7.2.0 RC1 by mebitek, and looks totally like an iphone. All the stock apps are iphone like.
Messages, Music, Contacts, Clock and a lot more... Amazing ROM if you are looking for an iPhone-ish experience...
i don't suggest you cm9, because it's buggy, some cm9 based roms can't receive call (lockscreen bug) and no camera work.
i suggest you a pure cm7 mod, the official one link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1554099
because:
it's stable
it's simple
it work good
it's smooth
it's the first to start from
you will be satisfied
(and cyanmobile is so badlooking )
Best would be the Emanon.

Pick A Stable one..
Currently using Cyanogenmod 9 Beta 7, but I suggest using a stable rom like CM7.2 or Minimod. CM9 is definitely awesome but is crawling with bugs such as Force Restart/Freeze, No drivers for camera, Wifi connectivity issues. There you go
Minisense v3.5...
with mix of adrenaline engine +slaidy boost for better performance.
And also beats audio for best audio performance.
Try it bro....

This one is the best for daily use. I'm not a mobile-gamers. So I don't know about gaming performances.
I've tried the latest CyanMobile. It's very good and more customizable. Navigation bar is really nice. But I have a problem with the native app2sd.
currently using cyanogenmod 7
now time to switch will try cyanmobile revo or anyother if one could suggest a better option
P.S : can anyone provide me link for cyanmobile revo

If your camera works then why not share to FOP. Camera from ICS isn't different to JB. Atleast people here can have an almost fully functional ICS.
Tell you what, if you want the credits (as your sig implies), release an ICS ROM with a working camera. That's it!
As i said before if you need help i´m here Are you compiling from source ?

It's sad to watch all these new ROM'S and kernel's here knowing you can't have them because u can't unlock your bootloader....

Don't think I am complaining because I'm not,I just want to bring back a little development for stock kernel to show us,stock kernel users that we are not forgotten.
With this thread I am asking someone of you developers to make really lightweight, smooth ROM.

Well, stock is ungrateful and painful in development. I don't like to re-stock 50 times, root 50 times, put recovery etc. and still don't know what's going on because logcat doesn't even start. So I wouldn't expect so many ROMs.
And hey, it's 2013 adn X8 was released in 2010 so it's like using Celeron 433 MHz now
