Let me start by saying I feel really dumb posting this. I am running viper one 5.8.0 with darkone theme on Sprint HTC one. Under My mobile hotspot settings, manage users, the only option I have for max connections is one user. How do I enable multiple users?
Just added an image of what I see when trying to select Max. Connections.
Has anyone else had this problem?

hello, im using CM 6.1 RC1, is there a way to get the wifi calling feature on my HERO???
Is it an APK to download or is there another rom to have this feature even an older one?
Or is there any way to hack it to work on HTC HERO like this Nexus One Hack???
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=807116
AFAIK, wifi calling requires certain hardware which enables it, wifi calling is also knows as UMA which is hardware specific, and the hero does not have such hardware
as an option - you could use google voice and another provider to make voip calls over wifi.

What do you mean, video call?? you may use skype AFAIK
I've installed the apk from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8593386#post8593386 on Villain 1.6.2 and get 'Invalid SIM' as expected as I'm not on T-Mobile US, can't change settings through the menus so stuck there.
There is also this http://help.orange.co.uk/orangeuk/support/personal/529673
But I haven't seen the app extracted anywhere yet. I use uma on my work BB all the time as the signal at home is crap, if this could be fixed for general andriod use it would be so useful.

Just got my HTC one, non rooted, stock firmware.
When i downloaded facebook messenger and tried to enable it to hijack sms/mms by going to the options screen, the option to enable it is missing. Funny that it works on my xperia z but not htc one.
Anyone with the same issues? Or did i get a weird set?

anyone?
I happened to find the same thing on one of my phone.
The option is here on my Galaxy Note but not on my Acer Gallant. What's weird is that I have not seen a lot a people talking about this.
SMS settings disappeared after I upgraded from Android 4.0.4 to 4.1.2. Hope they fix it soon. Reported it. If anyone knows how to fix, please tell us. Thanks.
I also have this issue and have been searching for a fix with no result. It is a direct result of an upgrade to a 4.1+ base from 4.0.x. I have tried modifying build prop values to see if facebook messenger was somehow disabling the feature based on android version but have not had any luck. What is curious is if you restore messenger from a backup made on a working ROM/device, it does enable the setting briefly and for a single use. Once the app realizes it's authentication is out of sync with Facebook main it requires you to resync and you will lose the feature again. I have found minimal forum posts about it, I believe some other devices are free from issue on 4.2.x though.
I have a Sprint HTC One and asked this question in my phone's forum but have not gotten any answer yet. Part of the question is actually directed to owners of the international HTC One so I figured I'd post my question directly in this forum.
On the Sprint version of the HTC One, if you go under Settings-> Call ->Accounts and try to add a SIP account for internet calling, the setting "Authentication username" is MIA.
This setting is required in order to get the SIP account setup properly. Without it, I keep getting the "Authentication failed" error. This very setting is available on my Nexus 4. However, my N4 is running 4.2.2. So I'm not sure whether the root of the issue is Android 4.1.2 or is this an HTC Sense issue.
I called HTC this morning and they were not very helpful in the sense that the rep did not know much about this whole internet calling thing. He looked at multiple other HTC devices and none had the setting so he thinks that it is either not required, or the carrier decided to have it removed. However, he only had carrier versions, and did not have the international version, or the developer edition. My guess is that the issue is present on all the Sense versions of android 4.1.2, or Android 4.1.2 for that matter.
However, I do not have the international HTC One or the developer edition to verify. So can anyone with an HTC developer edition, and/or the regular international version take a look at the settings available on their phone and tell me whether the "Authentication username" setting is present? See the screenshots of the SIP account details screen I'm talking about. You will notice that the setting I'm inquiring about is not present (on my phone that is).
If your phone is also missing the setting, can anyone with knowledge on this setting tell me whether they've been able to setup a SIP account without any issue (and w/o this setting) using the android native SIP account settings? If so how did you workaround the missing setting?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Can anyone please take a look in the SIP Account settings details and tell me if they are also missing the Authentication Username setting? That's all I need at the moment in order to confirm that the fact that my phone is missing the setting has nothing to do with the carrier, but rather HTC and/or Android 4.1.2.
Thanks!

Thanks fridgeman. That helps a lot. At least I know it's not Sprint who had it removed. Now I guess all I need to find out is whether the problem is in Android 4.1.2 or whether HTC created it when they baked Sense into AOSP. That's going to be a much harder task as I assume all N4 and GNex are now running 4.2.2.
One thing you could do though is update the thread once the 4.2.2. Sense OTA update rolls out on your phone. It'll get on your phone a good 5-6+ months earlier than on mine (if not more), so if the setting is still missing, we can officially blame it on HTC.
Thanks again!

Thanks! So it's clearly HTC screwing up on this one. That sucks!
Thanks a million. I know not to get my hopes up too much, even though I'll probably get this update in a year .

Hello there!
Anybody knows, if it is possible to configure the HTC One to connect to Cisco LEAP WiFi network? (EAP 802.11x security).
I read that Android has a general problem with it, but there is a workaround for rooted users, unfortunately nobody mentioned details (except for some wifi_supplicant file).
Do you have any ideas how to resolve this issue?
I'm rooted of course.
Thanks!

If you're on Android 4.2.2 (I'm on AOKP 4.2.2 for Nexus 4) then Advanced LEAP Wifi from the Play Store works just fine. However, the same app does not work on Android 4.3 - It force closes.
I have not tested this myself but it seems possible to edit the wifi_supplicant.conf file and be done with it, but to do that you must be rooted. If you're also a fellow IBMer, send me a PM and we can continue this over Sametime

Great to see that a fellow IBMer saw this post I sent a PM just now. I hope there can be something done in this issue. :good:
So I managed to fix the Wi-Fi tether on ecliptic one. Now, I need a developers sense of guidance. Where would I look to change the max user drop down menu in the settings. I kinda want to figure it out my self. I'm just looking for a little guidance on where to start.
