[Q] HTC one, drivers install but not showing up - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

ok, first off i am sorry to bother with this but i have ****ed up some how -.- i have had my HTC one rootet for a long time now. before this galaxy s3-4 and so on but this is the first time i havent found out how to fix by searching.
ok to start off. i got my phone back to stock using RUU methode. and upgraded it from 4.2.2(had it there for some time ) to 4.4.2 and everything went fine. untill i turned off the phone to unlock and root again. i got it unlocked, and tried to go into recovery just to see if twrp was still there. but here i get the red triange with "!" upside down. so i get the phone out off this screen and turns it on again. i think it is the recovery so i just boot it into fastboot and conect to the computer to install new recovery. but now i got more problems. the htc do not show up when it is in bootloader. i get it when i type "fastboot devices" in cmd but nothing in computer folder or anywhere where i can access it. i have tried uninstalling HTC sync, uninstall drivers, reboot computer, reset phone, install everything, and diffrent usb cables. also in device manager it shows with name My HTC and with the icon off a network.
but i do not know what more i can o now to get this fixed.
all help will be much appriciated

Bricked Nexus One?

Took my Nexus One off my cradle today to see it was locked up. Thought no biggie, I'll pull battery and restart it.
Now when it boots it comes up with four bars. Red, Green, Blue, White and the 3 skateboarding Droid Bots. I have no clue what to do now.
I was running Cyanogenmod (Forget the version, but it was 2-3 months old. I have not done anything to my phone except add the ebay app to it yesterday.
I can not get my computer to recognize it as a Nexus One anymore so I can not use Fastboot. I tried recovery from HBOOT, but keep coming up the same way.
Please Help
Ray
Picture of my Nexus One from Wifes iPhone...
I can get to FASTBOOT and when connected to USB it says FASTBOOT USB, but my computer fails to recognize the device and it goes back to FASTBOOT.
I can not turn on USB Debuging because it will not boot normal. I do not know what to do.
Weird screen, never seen that before.
Is this screen the only thing you see when you turn on the phone or do you still see the splash screen with the unlocked bootloader image prior? Have you tried booting into recovery? (holding the volume down button while turning the phone on)
Yes its the only thing I see.
I do not see anything Prior.
I have tried to boot to recovery many many times. I have 3 different results.
1. Nexus X with nothing else
2. Nexus X with Unlocked icon below
3. The screen you see
Either way, it does not move forward it just hangs. Is there a way to turn on USB debugging from FASTBOOT or HBOOT?

looks like the bootloader screen, thats what the rainbow screen was on the g1.
havent seen it on the nexus though so it could be something else.
Did you try a factory reset using hardware keys?
I believe you do this by holding vol-down, power and trackball for 5 secs.
That does not seem to do anything but take me to FASTBOOT
There has to be a way to turn on USB Debugging from FASTBOOT?
If you can get fastboot usb to work you could try the following (using latest amon_ra recovery.img):
Code:
fastboot boot c:\path\to\recovery.img
To boot into recovery, then use adb or try nand-ing etc.
if you get that far (recovery)
Code:
adb shell reboot normal
should take you into os.
However, the colored bars look like some pretty serious hardware failure I'd guess...
I can not get FASTBOOT USB to work. Any suggestion on how to get this working again?
Windows just says Unknown Device and uses a standard windows USB driver. I try to update the driver pointing it to android_winusb.inf but windows says no go.

not the sd card if it was a bad card it would just bootloop
if you have SDK you can see what the phone is doing with ddms
I would download SDK and install driver in SDK then you can run ddms and watch what the phone does in the realtime device log as it tries to boot
That pic reminds me of the MDA Win Mobile 5 boot screen, real similar...
Don't know how to help, keep us updated if you figure this one out.

What happens when you try to flash a rom?

[Q] HELP: Stuck in bootloader or no USB

Hi All,
from one moment to another my X1 decided to boot into bootloader mode.
The strange thing is however, that when I connect it to the USB of my PC and reset the X1, it boots normally. Well, almost normal as the USB doesn't seem to be working.
I flashed the rom to APP-SW_X1_GENERIC_UK_1213-6450_R3AA010__KOVS using the SDCard and that worked without a problem. But still the X1 boots into bootloader mode (except when connected to the PC).
I tried a hardreset, pressed the volume down button several times (to make sure it isn't stuck), tried to use MTTY (but that doesn't show a prompt), but nothing seems to help.
Is there anyone who can help me with this, because I'm out of ideas....
Update:
I managed to boot the OS (USB connected) and install HSPL using Xperia-SSPL-Manual. This succeeded and I now have SPL-0.78.OliNext. I flashed the phone to a new ROM (826x_KOVSKY_29017_2021), and that succeeded as well. It didn't solve my problem however. I still get the bootloader screen when I start the phone and can only start the OS by starting with USB connected...
Update2:
Yesterday evening I took the whole phone apart to make sure no buttons are/were stuck. Didn't find anything, put it back together and it still boots into bootloader.
I also managed to get a connection to the phone using NueTTY. I executed command Set 14 0, restarted the phone...and still it boots into bootloader.
If there is any one who knows of something that I haven't tried yet, PLEASE let me know....

Flashing the ROM is no problem, I can put every ROM on it that I like. But even after flashing the ROM the phone still starts in bootloader....
You can try to go into the bootloader on ur pc and use recovery.bat with fastboot.

hi, I'm kind of having the same issue as you do..can you please be of help and tell me how did you manage to HSPL it to 0.78.OliNex?
Correct me If I am wrong, but you must copy Xpera_SSPL_Manual. exe on X1, run it from file explorer and then run X1_HardSPL.exe on your PC, whlie X1 is connected via usb (although mine also doesn't recognize the X1) ?
i would really apreciate it... thnx
i have the same problem guys, did anyone of you found any solution for this?

I can't check if cellphone is in Debugging mode or not because when i turn on the cellphone i see HTC logo and then nothing happens. cell phone is stuck on HTC Logo
Use latest HTC drivers and don't forget to remove HTC Sync if installed. Also try another usb port and another usb cable.
I have installed latest drivers through HTC Sync then UNinstall HTC Sync software
Use 2 different Data cables. Tried different USB ports but every time i attach HTC Incredible S computer can't find any Android Device in device manager. On the other hand when i attach HTC sensation Device manager recognise the android device.
if i cant solve this problem then my guess is that every time i try to run RUU i will get Error 170 so please help me out guy ....

Can you still get to the HBOOT menu? If so, does the device show up if you select the FASTBOOT option on the HBOOT screen?
It should change the screen to FASTBOOT USB mode.

What happns if you select FASTBOOT from that same menu? It should change to FASTBOOT USB and then check Device Manager again.
If so, yes I would go ahead and try running the RUU again.
i did select FastBoot and it changes into FastBoot USB
and then i run RUU RUU_VIVO_SENSE30_S_HTC_WWE_3.11.405.2_Radio_20.4805.30.0822U_3822.01.08.14_M_release_252414_signed_4
for 40 mins i saw this message and nothing happens
Any suggestions?

Well you could put it into HBOOT USB mode and try running the RUU again and see if there is any difference.
when i go for HBOOT USB mode i get
ERROR [120]: MAIN BATTERY POWER
This error message will appear when the Android phone’s battery power is not sufficient (Batter power should be more than 30%). Although RUU will instruct you to plug in the AC adapter, it will still need to make sure that your Android phone has enough power to complete the update. (The Android phone cannot charge the battery when it is connected to the PC while installing the RUU).

can i use this method?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21046189&postcount=2
Can some one please provide me ROM.zip file only ?
The method is worth a shot.. the Rom.zip file will be here when u are running the RUU.. just copy/paste it on desktop in the process
c:/your user name/appdata/local/temp and search rom.zip

I had something like that before when I tried to go back to stock. Basically I flashed the RUU, got rid of cwm recovery and all that, and I ended up getting stuck on the HTC logo white screen, with it refusing to boot.
I ended up going back to cwmr and a custom ROM.
So maybe the best way for you to be able to use your phone would be to go and put a custom ROM on it. However mine was S-OFF so it was easy for me to flash recovery again, I've forgotten how to go S-OFF from S-ON but you should be able to do it without booting.
However I would also know how to go back to stock.
Yea you can use PG32IMG.ZIP method.
If still not , Unlock your bootloader and install a custom rom.
I will use this method once i get back home
run the ruu again in pc.. and extract the rom.zip from temp folder in pc.. it will be in c drive-your user name-appdata-local-temp and search rom.zip.. rename it to PG32IMG.ZIP make sure its not PG32IMG.ZIP.ZIP

if above mentioned method doesn't work how can i Unlock bootloader and install a custom ROM My cell hone is stuck on HTC logo

Can't boot up except when connected to PC.

Okay, so I'm pretty sure I can't find this anywhere. I have HTC One M7 International Model (Asia : CID HTC__001). I've root it and S-off it and flash recovery than I installed Sense 6 InsertCoin ROM. Almost every month (once per month I think), my HTC One is suddenly stuck and goes back to HTC Logo and had a bootloop issue. The 1st and 2nd time I successfully unbrick it with force (I wipe all the data and installed a new rom until 20X or more). But this time, I tried to wipe all the data, flash a new rom and even RUU!! When I flash a new RUU, my PC said that "finished. total time : ....." but in my One, it's still stuck at the HTC Logo with the green bar at 90%. Okay, then I force restart it into bootloader and reboot my phone. It worked, I'm in my RUU and everything's is going fine. UNTIL I UNPLUGGED MY PHONE FROM MY PC. It freezes again and had a bootloop issue again. It's always like that, even with new rom or anything. Please help me, after this I'm going on a vacation. I appreciate everything you said, thx.
Are your drivers updated?
Try the debugging mode on and then connect.
Also change the USB cable if the phone keeps freezing.

Sony Xperia E1 (D2005) Failed Philz Recovery. Stuck in bootloop with no recovery!!!

Hello everyone. I am in real trouble here and I will explain why. I have recently tried to get the custom recovery with a locked bootloader (philz touch) on my device by following a thread. As far as I know I followed the guide properly but when my device rebooted it bootlooped 10x and then when my device booted it froze at the lock screen and restarted. now my device bootloops several times before boot and once it boots I get 1min at the most before it freezes and restarts. Also sometimes it fails to boot at all and it gets stuck in an infinate bootloop and I have to pull the battery. when I connect it to my laptop with a usb cable it is only recognised if the device boots but I only have a few seconds because the phone reboots and disconnects when I try and enter recovery or download mode my screen goes black and the only way to get of this is to pull the battery. I have also tried to connect to my laptop when on this black screen but i have had no success. If I turn the phone off and connect it to my laptop via usb when I am on the "battery charging screen" it appears on my computer as a unknown usb device. i do have all the drivers ect. my device is rooted with baidu root if that helps. ive heard of a little device called a usb jig would that be useful to me? sorry if this is not worded very well or looks like a book. Im not a idiot but not quite "tech savy" i would like to think i am somewhere in the middle. I have been using this site for years for various devices and always managed to succeed. help would be apprecited. Thanks
UPDATE: I have tried to factory reset from the settings but for some reason the button is greyed out and it wont let me press it! also I cannot connect to wifi or mobile data these are greyed out aswell and when I try to connect via the sliders in the settings menu they are also greyed out!!!

Hi, you need an unlocked bootloader for it to work properly. You can find how to unlock the bootloader by going to Sony's website and see where it says to unlock the bootloader or just look for it on Google. To get back to the stock rom (Android 4.4.2 KitKat), you will need Flashtool and the stock rom. You can find the rom on Google by just typing "sony xperia e1 d2005 stock rom". To get the recovery just try looking for it on XDA. And USB Jig will not work for Sony devices. USB Jig is only designed to work with Samsung devices.
