Hi to all
Got an Moto X - ATT unlocked (no rooted) in the USA.
It works great here in Peru (SouthAmerica), with a GSM carrier.
Some days ago, the phone is asking me for an update (4.4.2).
The question is:
Will be safe update the phone?. I'm not in the USA
Thanks in advance.
nib
EDIT: it's ok. I update OK. no problem.

I have an at&t Sim Unlocked Moto X. The carrier I am now using is bmobile in Trinidad & Tobago.
Will the PwnMyMoto-1.4.3-ATT.apk created by jcase still Root my phone?
Also, to Unroot the phone and return to stock, would flashing ATT_XT1058_4.2.2-13.9.0Q2.X-116-X-17-51_CFC_1FF.xml.zip (ATT US) work?
I just sold my us cellular moto x and bought one on sprint. Im going to wait for the update since vzw got it today, after updating can I just bootloader unlock and flash su.zip. that's what I did on my last moto x, and the sprint version is available to bootloader unlock as well

well the 1058 is the AT&T model so i would think you would beable to flash it but the big question is. is the device unlocked for use with claro or is it running different firmware.
have you tried putting in a sim card from a different carrier and see if it accepts it. if it does then it is just unlocked and i will walk you threw how to get to 4.4 and root access if you want it
its not unlocked i put in an att sim card and it ask me for the network unlock
does my boot loader has to be unlock even if i wanna put an official rom like say atts rom
thanks
If I am reading everything correctly, the att version is xt1097 and has a locked bootloader. There is no way to unlock the bootloader and there is no root method for a moto x bought from att. Am I correct in this assumption? :crying:

Yes you are correct. The original Moto X (carrier locked) bootloaders can be unlocked using "Sunshine", there is a potential it will become available for the 2014 version in the future, but I don't think it will be anytime soon.
Secondly, there is no reason to get the AT&T version because rumor is Motorola is going to enable all the AT&T supported LTE bands in the Pure version: http://www.androidcentral.com/moto-x-pure-edition-xt1095-may-soon-get-more-lte-bands
I am hoping it's possible to unlock the boot loader and flash the stock retail firmware on the MetroPCS Moto E5 Plus. I just got mine a couple of days ago, but still patiently waiting for the app unlock I ordered for it to be completed so I can unlock it to use for Cricket Wireless. So far like the phone , but some of the metropcs apps can't be disabled and it's annoying the crap out of me.
Hey oh my god can you please make a full back up and send me the link it would save this phone that's bricked and then I will send you modified boot with full back up as soon as I can get on to do so?
