I've googled up and down, left and right. I'm trying to find a way to hide my signal bars since I'm using tinted status bar and trying to keep my statusbar as minimal as possible. I'd prefer to avoid decompiling SystemUI.apk and replacing the icons with transparent pngs because I would still like for the signal to show if I look at quick settings tiles (99.9% of the time my signal is great, but I'd still like to know relatively quickly what's going on if a page is slow to load or something times out).
The closest I've seen so far is GravityBox (JB) or Eclipse. I'd rather not do GravityBox (JB) because, well, KitKat. Eclipse is almost perfect, but when WiFi is off/disconnected, the 4G/LTE/3G/1X icon lingers. The next closest I've seen is using Tinted Status Bar to color the icons fully transparent by default, but whether I set it to SRC_ATOP or MULTIPLY, it still defaults to white icons on some apps and gives a half-baked and inconsistent experience. GravityBox (KK) allows for coloring of icons, but it's only RGB and ignores alpha values.
The only other thing I can think of (aside from GravityBox or Tinted implementing a solution) is to edit .xml or smali values to replace the statusbar signal bar icon with (). I'm not sure which edit to make specifically, however. I'm fine with either the stock rom or Eclipse, but I'd like to know how to fix it one way or the other.
Thoughts?

GravityBox (KK) doesn't have any option for hiding signal bars like it did in the JB version. It allows for a hex code entry for heavy-handed theming, but it doesn't accept alpha values.

GravityBox in general doesn't play well with the Moto X for the more obscure features, likely due to the dev not owning one personally to test on and the fact the X is not pure AOSP. The expanded desktop options don't all perform the desired function, otherwise I'd get something like floating notifications/halo.
As for making the colors black, well, that also defeats the purpose since with Tinted Status Bar I'm trying to avoid having the black bar anywhere that there is not a black action bar. I could just do black icons and run nothing but black/inverted apps, but, no offence to the themers out there, the inverted apps I've seen just... don't look very polished compared to some of their stock counterparts. I acknowledge that it's a bizarre and obscure request, but someone around here ought to know where to look. I don't want burn-in ANYWHERE and I love ultra-minimal looks.
I think what you are looking for is called immersive mode.
First off, get Gravitybox for Kit-kat. Second, get app settings (It's in the xposed repository). Make sure to turn on immersive mode in gravity box, and then go into app settings and set all the apps you want to hide the status bar on to immersive mode.
There is also an xposed module called immerse me which would eliminate the need for app settings, but it did some weird stuff for me. (For example, Nova launcher doesn't play well with immerse me)
I use immersive mode & PIE controls for a full-screen-all-the-time effect. For what ever reason, I had to force immersive mode with app settings, but on my other devices setting it in Gravity box was enough. I guess it's the non-AOSP aspect of the moto X that's interfering with something.

All of these mods were built & tested using the Kit-Kat SlimKat ROM (using the Keyguard.apk) so they should work on ALL CM11 based ROMs, I'm not quite sure about AOSP ROMS though...
Make sure you download and apply these Mods through the "Zipthemer" Playstore app, if you don't know how to use it plese watch this video, it will show you how to utilize it:
http://youtu.be/9UW4vsM8YJw
This is how I THINK the REAL Kit-Kat lockring should have looked like. I gave it that new "Google Search Bar" Transparent Background & sized it up a bit for a more captivating effect. It really annoyed me when Google gave the app drawer and folders that cool new look, but left the lockscreen completely untouched... it is still the same Holo one as Jellybean. Well not anymore, the problem has been fixed and it looks amazing! I also made a Bugdroid version one to go along with the Droid Glowdots I uploaded.
Second, I'm contributing is what I like to call the "No Airplane Icon" mod I know some people (other than myself) like use Android as a Wi-Fi device or "iPod" mode so when turning off the Phone Signal we get the constant Airplane icon in the Statusbar as a result. Well, I have now fixed that bit annoying problem by completely hiding it using a transparent icon. Its completely compatible with the 4.4 Transparent Statusbar so flash it again and once one Airplane Mode, the signal icon will completely disappear!
Hope you guys enjoy them & don't forget to hit the "Thanks"!
Hi guys,
I am starting to work on xposed modules and have successfuly created and tested one. I am planning to create a good module for many basic settings. I just want some suggesstions from people to get started with. What i am planning to do is to make a separate module for each task, so that there isnt something like Gravity box which is too comlex. Some options are like below:
1. Navbar size changer
2. Status bar meizu mod for .266 stock rooted
3. battery icon theme
4. various system parameters toggles (all rotations including 180, unplugscreenon disable, camera sounds, mobile data warning)
etc etc
If anyone has a minor module request, i can make it on demand as well. (for example one to enable lockscreen rotation etc)
Below is my first test module, It makes STOCK XPERIA 4.3 Settings DUAL PANE.
Also works on all other stock based Xperia ROMS.

Illumination bar xposed
Can you create a module that changes the illumination bar color on every app and keep it on? Example: If I open whatsapp the illumination bar turns green and if i go to twitter the illumination bar turns blue... same as tinted status bar but with the led bar. Dont need automatic colorizing, i want to manage color settings for every app in a list. Sorry for my english please!
pie control.. not like gravity.. pacman pie that has notification when swipe up..
Why did you post that on Q&A, Help forum?
It would better fit on the "General" forum..
Please request mods to move it ^_^

I can do the pie controls of gravity box easily as its source is open. Maybe PAC source is open too, but will be great if you can point me towards the java file which handles PACman pie. Then i can try.

I was successful in implementing basic settings. Now I'm working on above as well as some other layout modifications. Hang tight.

tested your "tutorial.apk" ! I mistakenly thought it was dual "page" in quicksetting (as in gravity box) lol
Great innovation.:good:
Actually the dual pane thing is very basic tweak... it could be useful if i change the dpi and layout.
anyways, my main aim is to make separate modules for
1. meizu mod status bar
2. various dpi navbars
3. various icons navbars
4. navbar/pie controls combo.
Hide handlebar and adjust transparency
1.For hiding handlebar and adjusting transparency of notification bar like in the attachement
2.Full screen caller photo
3. Changing theme accent color overriding the accent color of theme applied
4. Meizu Statusbar as you said but for .201 FW (Latest)
I got my system working back today and created one small one for myself. Anyone is welcome to use it if they want.
Module function:
1. Force Screen to remain off while plugging the charger in and out. (i was frustrated due to the constant screen on)
2. Allows all rotations in 3rd party apps. (Quickpic, UltimateReader, FX manager and many others). However the Xperia Home does not rotate.
3. Forces Navbar hieght to stock 48 dpi. (i was using another SystemUI meizu mod which made it 36 dpi so i wanted a toggle for that).
I will work on more modules for small little changes as requested here. Next target is Meizu Mod Module and then PIE controls/Expanded Desktop module.
What exactly does your dual pane module do?

Have you used PAC ROM? it makes the setings page dual pane.... Not much useful though.
See below, its similar to this.:

I need tester for my MEIZU mod xposed module.
See attachment.
Just go in xposed>modules>tick my Module, install/update framework...
you have Meizu Statusbar.
It only works for Xperia 4.3 ROMS. (.201 tested. 266 not tested but it should work.)
EDIT: Apparently there are some bugs still present....

Is there a mod to make the navigation bar transparent or translucent and not black throughout the system or within apps?
Or invert the color of the bar like the LG G3?

But.. Does it also work when you're in for instance whatsapp? Could you post some screenshots in some apps? Because it's only transparent on the home screen on my Nexus 6
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Unfortunately if the app doesn't allow it, I don't think it's possible
Here is the deal. When you use a launcher that allows transparency, it is only on the home screen. That is because the homescreen is designed to allow the window (of the application) to sit behind the status bar and navigation bar. Windows for other applications do not sit behind these bars. They stop when they meet them. If you actually had a transparent navigation bar and you were in facebook, you would not see the background of the app behind it. You would see dead space, which may be white, grey or black. Not the effect you're looking for.
Conversely, if the app windows DID sit behind these bars, some functionality would be lost. eg. buttons at the bottom of the app would sit behind the navbar. There are apps and mods that can achieve this, such as expanded desktop, but is it really worth losing functionality for this?

To expand on that a little bit, the notion of having something transparent depends on there actually being something behind it to show through, which really doesn't make much sense.
In fact, the transparent "effect" (at least, on the notification bar at the top) is something done by the application itself, by defining the boundaries of the application to extend above the border of the application window, hence drawing something up outside of the application's area.
The nav bar can't be made transparent in the same manner, but the application developer has the option to set the color.
Curious to see if anyone has installed the AOSP Signals mod via Xposed? The mod was originally designed for the Moto X, but I wanted to use it for the Droid Turbo. Or is there another mod?
thanks!

What other Xposed mods are people using? Are there any to change the wifi, and other icons.. How about the ability to change the color of the icons.

I'm sure everyone has different closed mods they are using. I use YouTube adaway, YouTube background play, instagram downloaded, and a status bar mod called
"Flat style bar indicators" it has hundreds of icons to choose from for WiFi, Bluetooth, signal, battery etc. I've attached a screenshot so you can see mine.
Running on CM12.1
Installed the asop signal icon. So far has not worked.

Since the nov security update my navbar became white, I previously had it black and i'm not sure how (I'm guessing either substratum, themegalaxy, ADB, or S8NavBarCC) eitherway no method currently works that sticks.
Any idea how to fix this?
Edit: i hate my life the reason isn't the security update but rather navstar which i happened to install while downloading the security update.
Cant you choose theme based on settings, display, navigation bar?
---------- Post added at 11:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:01 PM ----------
Or black there's options there...
It is to stop screen burn or lack thereof. If you keep a black nar bar it will after a few months show uneven colour due to less burn in on the nav bar.

Good thinking.
The issue is with Good Lock 2018 and NavStar. ADB and I'm assuming other methods won't survive reboot because NavStar conflicts with and overrides the default color selection. My solution was to uninstall NavStar for now but it'd be great to get it working properly.

Just for clarity Navistar mods will function concurrently with navbar animations app, and both survive reboot. Just fyi if anyone is troubleshooting.
To clarify, if you change icons in NavStar and then use ADB commands to change the nav bar color, it will change temporarily, then revert to whatever shade of white was originally selected, after a reboot. If you use one of the stock colors, there is no issue.
I noticed this only for one app so far, MX Player Pro. Only engine I'm using is Swift and that's only for a handful of apps.
I found the instructions in this thread worked for me, I just omitted the last command to stop my theme'd nav bar icons back to stock.
The Nav bar isn't black in all apps but most.
Open an ADB shell and paste:
settings put global navigationbar_color -16777216
settings put global navigationbar_current_color -16777216
