Who has the AWS band version of the Lumia 1520 - Windows Phone 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This just a poll to see how many people were able to get hold of the Lumia 1520 that supports the AWS band making it fully compatible with T-Mobile.
Count me in as one!

What variant has AWS LTE enabled? Anyone should be able to flash this onto the AT&T variant to enable AWS LTE.

It's the 1520 RM-938. Has native AWS. It's a super rare variant to find. It also has pentaband LTE and WCDMA. Here's a picture of the bands from the box:

Do you happen to know what the Product Code is? (It should be something like "059T2J6"). Once we know the product code, we should be able to flash this to the AT&T RM-940 to enable AWS HSPA+. (The RM-940 has AWS LTE already)
The final process should be similar to going between flashing a Lumia 520 to a 521.
**EDIT**
Found the list. Source: http://www.seidea.com/2014/02/28/product-codes-of-nokia-lumia-1520/

Also, based on http://www.nokiapoweruser.com/2013/...ant-rm-938-to-have-inbuilt-wireless-charging/, this model is identical to the AT&T variant, except they removed the Wireless Charging coil and disabled AWS HSPA+ in the radio firmware.
Based on this, anyone with an AT&T RM-940 can flash it to a RM-938 and use it on T-Mobile/Wind/etc. Any of the "CV" or "Americas" ones should sim-unlock the device.

Looks like the product code is 059V6X0.

But has anyone been successful flashing the RM-938 ROM onto the RM-940? If there has been a success, what method did they use? I'm having a heck of a time trying to get it to work.

South African XFV firmware is German after flash with Odin

I downloaded the South African XFV (Vodafone) firmware and flashed it with Odin.
AP
BL
CP
CSC
After reboot the language is in German. Software shows VD2/VD2/XFV instead of XFV/XFV/XFV.
Does anyone know how I can fix this??
I want to use Samsung Pay but can't because my region is not correct.
Which firmware you have installed? Sounds like you have installed a branded Vodafone firmware which don't have your CSC included.
Don't be afraid to hit the "Thanks" button if someone helped you. It don't hurts

I used Samfirm and searched for the South African XFV firmware.
The only one that came up is the Vodafone XFV firmware. (My phone's country code is XFV)
The other two that's available for South Africa is XFE and XFA (if I remember correctly)
Will I be able to install one of the other South African firmwares on my XFV device?

So it was this CRG1 firmware version with OVF CSC (see screenshot)?
You could try to remove your SIM card and reboot 1 time. Then shutdown, put the card back in and boot again. Normally it should recognize the card and switch to the correct CSC View attachment 4567759

Hi there, first of all your thread is in the wrong sub-forum "development". It would be better placed in the "Q & A" section.
The firmware consisting of BL, AP, CP is the same for every country. It's the CSC that makes the difference. If you want XFV for Vodacom South Africa you must download the respective package. I usually use Sammobile. I personally am on DBT Germany which works 100% here in SA. If you are looking for VoLTE and WiFi calling forget it. According to Vodacom Cresta (in Joburg) the Note8 is not configured for these services which I find rather strange. But that's Vodacom anyway. Cheers LJ
That's not 100% correct. WiFi calling and VoLTE works for our Note 8. If it's not available by CSC, then it's a hidden feature which maybe can by enabled with apps like QuickShortcutMaker. Maybe VoLTE isn't supported by Vodafone in SA - that I don't know.

I did a Factory reset with a Vodacom sim and then replaced it with my MTN sim while loading.
Everything sorted now.

Of course, VoLTE & WiFi Calling works on the N8. I had it working on DBT when I was in Germany 4 weeks ago. But on Vodacom it just doesn't. It's a carrier specific problem. They assured me that both services have been activated. But that's Africa. You can never be sure. LJ

From what I've seen in my quest to identify the bands present in the ComCasT (Xfinity) version, CCT is the Xfinity Mobile version firmware, which is similar to Verizon's firmware in bands supported.
Cricket's 3 letter prefix is AIO (named for its parent company Aio Wireless
Thanks to the OP for uploading the original CCT firmware, as I am getting that model w/ their $300 prepaid card rebate.

Of course it's for the Note 9, it's in the folder of Note 8, so maybe that's why your seeing that part , couldn't create a solo section for Note 9 cause AFH hasn't as of yet added the Note 9.

Hey guys, just a warning. I flashed this to downgrade my Tmobile from ARH2. Flashed BL, AP, and CP. Now my phone won't completely unlock with the pattern. It doesn't tell me my pattern is wrong but what happens is after I swipe my pattern, the phone will black out as if it's unlocking, then goes back to the locked screen.
Anyone know how to get around this?
I'm downloading the TMB version of ARH2 which I'm hoping will fix it.
UPDATE: Fixed it by flashing the current Tmobile ARH2 firmware. So if you have T-mobile, please don't flash this.
Same thing happened to me. Booting into recovery mode and doing a full wipe fixed it. I am on Xfinity Mobile so I wanted their firmware. So far though, I am finding that nothing is different overall. There is a Video Calling feature in the menu now and the boot animation is Xfinity. Other than that, VOLTE and HD Voice was already working on the unlocked firmware. Xfinity has not enabled Wifi Calling on any Android phones yet so that point is moot.
I am on ARH4. Is that floating around somewhere?

On your screen from your first screenshot scroll down a bit and you'll should see the 3 csc/csc/csc code. Eg XAA/XAA/SPR....
Assuming you have an international sim card in phone:
The last csc code in that group is the phone's Carrier (like AT&T, T-mobile and Sprint).
Then go to Sammobile.com/firmware and look for:
SM-N950U
(Your CSC code)
Read this thread if you want to change your sm-n950u to sm-n950u1:

SM-N950U1 IS Non-carrier phone (So less bloatware)

Your country of origin is Hong Kong and model SM-N950U!
Shouldn't your model be SM-N9500?

I have one of these TGY (from Hongkong) N9600 devices... It is still stuck on the Dec security patch, NOT sure if Android 10 will ever make it. All updates so far have been slow.
I use the device mainly because I need to maintain 2 different phone numbers, so the dual-sim helps. But using it on AT&T postpaid, the service sucks... NOT to hijack this thread but I can't seem to pull anything above 25MBPS or push above 2MBPS, NO matter where I am. My wife's iPhone is easily able to download at 100+MBPS. May be it is time to jump over to the dark side (?)

Yeah, got the update but the battery life sucks now... I wonder if changing the CSC would help with the problems I reported above...
BTW, the internal memory on my Note-9 is encrypted... After the android 10 update, the start-up screen is in Chinese. Anyone else seeing this? How do I change this to English? After entering my pin & successfully booting up, everything else is in English as expected. So it is just the start-up screen...
Help appreciated. Thanks
